G920 Post-update Unable to Control Cars

So after I installed the Fortune Island update, it is now impossible for me to drive cars using my Logitech G920. Basically, the “sensitivity” of the wheel is now so extreme that if I make any minute adjustments to the wheel, the game now assumes that I am in fact turning the wheel as far as possible to the left/right. This leads to the cars essentially wobbling and being unable to control. At first I didnt know what the problem was, until I entered the steering wheel cockpit cam POV and noticed that even though I was not turning my wheel, the wheel of the car was rapidly turning left right left right again, leading to this unbelievable jittery feeling of uncontrollably. This issue has persisted with the wheel settings I was using just perfectly before the new update and is not a product of hypertuned wheel sensitivity settings. At first I thought this was a problem with my wheel, but now that I’ve visited the forums I have seen some other people with G920 problems. Has anybody else had a problem like this? I’ve tried a full reinstall, with no luck.

Really want to play this update, but it broke the game for my wheel, so I guess I can’t. Please fix!

Are your deadzones set strangely?
The patch fixed deadzones not working - so anyone that tried strange settings on outer steering deadzones (that did nothing) before will generally have very sensitive steering.

Can you give me your wheel settings? I changed the deadzones around and I could only change between ultra hyper sensitivity and not being able to provide any steering input, even at full lock.

I run zero for the inner, and around 85 for the outer - higher numbers on the outer will use more wheel travel, lower numbers will use less and make it very sharp.

I also found after the patch I had to rebind the steering axis as for some reason it wasn’t working properly, then go full lock to full lock in game for it to pickup the centre again.

Thank you! I adjusted my deadzones to the settings your recommended and now my g920 is back in business! Obviously I had to do some tweaks to your numbers to fit my style, but it worked. Before I made the post I tried adjusting deadzones/sensitivity but nothing worked, albeit I didnt have any reference numbers, so thank you for sharing yours! To anybody with this issue, use this man’s deadzone settings and you should be good to go!

Hello!

Thanks i’m not alone, i have the same problem. But its worst than you, i have the very sensitive steering and my steering wheel is turning to the right in game, when i’m not even turning it (i think its because im not playing with the “default setting” G920.
Tell me if you got something new.
The game is missing me since 4 days …

Yes I also have the same constant turning to the right if I use the default settings. The problem of hypersensitive steering only happens when I use a custom profile, which I prefer because I dont like the default keybinds.

I have the Logitech G920, but replaced it with the Fanatec Clubsport wheel v2.5, pedals v3.0, gear shifter SQ, & handbrake with the Xbox hub because of the issues I was having with the G920.

However, now on the Fanatec racing rig I am now using. No throttle for 3 seconds. Does not matter how much I adjust the acceleration dead zones, nothing changed. Still shows that I have 5 indicators showing in acceleration at a complete stop or 0 MPH. In first gear, takes about 3 seconds to accelerate. Sputters for a few times, then starts to work, which takes about 3 seconds. Once you get going, no issues, except if you drop in speed to the lowest gear or the car is still rolling in reverse or back to 1st gear. No throttle until you come to a stop. Redlining the throttle, helps to get going in first gear, but this is not a solution for a constantly dying accelerator, that makes drifting, burnouts, and so forth impossible.

I tested the game controller. Too my surprise, the first 5 indicators on the accelerator bar are lit at zero MPH. The 3 second delay is still there on 1st gear. lol However, now there are no brakes, instead I have two clutches. One the obvious one (LB), two the brake is now a clutch (LT button), checked, states it is a brake in configuration. E-brake still works, but the brake used to work before on the controller for FH2 when I had the G920 connected. Somehow, now it is messed up on all of the Forza Horizon games I checked, which was FH2, FH3, FH4, FH5, FH6, & FH7. They are all now showing that I have 5 indicators into acceleration at a complete stop using the Fanatec wheel. No brake with 5 indicators lit within the acceleration bar using just the game controller connected by itself. Tried rebooting the console, same results. Tried different ports and disconnecting the other controller and testing, same results.

I have updated the Fanatec Wheel and its gear firmware. Recalibrated the center, shifter, pedals. Tested them on the PC, all worked as to be expected, but when I went back to the console. Same results as before.

On a different matter, in cockpit of car, the mirrors are way off or missing for a lot of cars I tried, with no way to correct it on the console. The same for the wheel (divitars) hands not matching what I am doing. The gearing is absolutely stupid at times. Most gear shifters are 5 to 7 gears. However, see some vehicles are using 10 - 12 gears, might work with a controller, but does not help anyone who is using a system that is limited to 5, 6, or 7 gears without a way to possibly achieve the remaining gears needed to compete in an event.

I have not had any of the game crashes, but I have witnessed other strange events, like no power at all, no turning, sudden out of control issues, but that could be caused by those hitting you from behind or a delayed response from a hit. Seemed the higher the level of Divitars used, the crazier their driving was, that is not what I expected from supposedly better drivers. Maxed out speed while swaying back and forth across the road with the vehicle on the verge, if not already, out of control crashing into everyone in the path to get ahead. Pushing you off the track, bumping you out to miss a checkpoint and so on is not what I call an advanced driver, but rather an inexperienced driver learning how to control their car. Sure, it make them tougher to beat that way, but I would have thought the Divitars would of been better at using skills and driving and not the opposite of that.

I appreciate any assistance I can get to correctly be able to compete in the races for any of the Forza titles I already own. Thank you for your time and cooperation!

UPDATE: Turns out the game controller was not working on the LT button - lol. No response when test it using the controller testing software, but still moved in range. Swapped controllers, have brakes once again, but still the 5 indicators lit at a stand still for acceleration. Changing the deadzone for the low and high, made no change to those lit indicators.
