Frist of all the penalty’s should work better than right now, I’m not saying it’s bad but theres more than enough to do. I think the best option to punish bad drivers is to let them wait while they pit. I don’t like the system in gt7, when you are in a battle slightly hit someone, get a penalty because the penalty system has a bad day and the battle is over. This system ruined a lot of good battles for me.
After this there is a drive trough penalty and the last step is DQ. Also should Bad drivers be marked as what they are… bad drivers. Or even better get there own lobbies like in GTA Online.
FIX THESE PENALTIES. The amount of times I’ve seen or even been apart of a penalty that should NEVER be put up on the “victim” end of a “collision” is ridiculous.
Someone comes out of no where to try and spin you out and you get the 4.50 second penalties is out right bogus.
I had a wild experience in Formula Mazda tonight. I got rammed multiple times and once collided with another person who’d gotten rammed and was spinning across the track. I dropped out with a full 10 seconds in penalties.
I’ve often thought people were too whiny about dirty races, but the combo of juvenile delinquents and huge penalties was no fun at all. Penalties have gotten stiffer but the system is no better at recognizing fault.
It is obvious that there needs to be a complete revamp of the penalty system, Social media posts are constant regarding this issue and the flaws within it.
Many people have reported unfair penalties, there are those of us who actually want to race clean and fair and work hard to maintain an “S” rating and high skills rating. Recently I was in race of which another driver, who was racing clean got into the back of my car, spun me around, he hit me and I received a 4.5 second penalty and my rating in one race went from S to a B at no fault of my own.
When you spend hours racing this game to maintain the S rating and it is reduced substantially based on an incident which was not my fault, that is incredibly frustrating.
In nearly every lobby, there are individuals who clearly are there just to take other drivers out, there is a difference between “Racing” incidents and Malicious driving.
You indicate that your Rating determines the lobbies you are placed in, however when over 50% of the drivers are driving maliciously, it is clear that your rating system has no value at this time and provides ZERO incentive for players to race clean and a competitive level.
PLAYERS HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR THIS TO BE FIXED FOR SOME TIME.
PLEASE GET THIS FIXED, AS A PLAYER SINCE VERSION 1 OF FORZA, THIS SYSTEM MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO WANT TO STAY WITH THIS GAME.
Beyond that issue, I personally love to play the game and would like to continue. Looking forward to future improvements and developments.
increase and resell the penalty system ASAP because it’s ridiculous!
it’s ridiculous that dishonest drivers crash from the rear, throwing you off the track, causing you to lose the race and not be penalized or be penalized with ridiculous times of 0.50 seconds.
furthermore, if I go off track to avoid an accident, why am I penalised?

Yip i agree have been rammed door shut on so many corners as for novice racers trying get position at everyones cost just had 6 out 6 race’s with nearly every player taking people out
Ive always thought about this because Turn 10 are doing this as a joke I’m sure they are just because its so brilliantly rubbish I’m just wondering when are they actually going to put in a good penalty system? does anyone know if they are adding it in the next update or at least improving it I’m just sick of being punted of in S tier lobby’s and I get the 4.5 second penalty
Forza / Turn 10 fix the bloody penalty system, it’s actually unplayable.
Not bad enough that you constantly get the penalty for being hit, its now near on impossible to improve your safety rating to get out the smashing bot lobbies.
Forza / T10 just admit you’ve got it wrong and make the changes before there is no player base left, as a regular player I’m literally at my witts end with how bad everything is being handled and the deaf ears of the devs from the community.
If you can’t fix the penalty system then at least revert the changes back to 10 races for the safety ratings so we stand a chance of at least getting a half decent online racing.
With update 10.0 most time I got hit from behind, maybe even divebomber on purpose on a slow turn, the penalty system hit me and not the rammer. That’s happening to a lot of players and many of us have posted video. It’s quite clear, at this point, that T10 don’t have idea of how to fix it or they don’t have intention of putting resource on the matter. At last they could have put ghosting for rammers who come diveboming in slow turn (for anyone who claim ghosting ruin the realism how many time did you saw a race with a car coming at 300km on a slow turn to ram as many pilots as possible?). At this point you can just remove the penalty system so the few honest players don’t get the worst of it.
I saw a video that said “if you are constantly being ram you are probably a bad driver” while it sounds weird; it kind of made me reflect on my own driving rather then look for the game to fix my skill issues
The penalty system is not perfect but Im having a hard figuring out what would be better. Ghosting, I guess? Maybe I don’t play enough but typically get decently clean lobbies and I don’t experience the cheap penalties very often. I have seen some YouTubers ram right it to a car rejoining because ,“that guy is an idiot for rejoining like that,” and then are surprised to be hit with a 4.5 second penalty. Why not slow down and avoid the contact, or anticipate the bad driving and dodge it; Or take the penalty and move on as you may loose more time dodging. The game is not perfect. There are set parameters for what will be and what will not be a penalty with no human element or investigation afterwards.
That being said I do feel the impact for punting or bad driving is minimal so bad drivers just do it for seemingly not consequences, but if they increase the impact those situations where you do get a cheap penalty will hurt that much more
One day. but they have other priorities and you cant expect it immediately, this is part of developing a game is it is being implemented just need time for it as they have collaborations and events and such, give a bit of time.
This is probably going to be a hot take, but I don’t mind the penalties so much, they just need tweaking for more accuracy. I think 7 sec penalty is enough for a DSQ. More importantly though, it would be great if you can see a list of safety rating right before the race starts so you can keep in mind who to give respect to and who to avoid altogether. Though I’m pretty sure T10 did this on purpose until more players start playing MP regularly. They do prioritize filling lobbies over making lobbies as evenly leveled as possible, but I’d rather have a fun and frustrating race mid-pack then win 5+ seconds ahead with no one to contend with. Its also the reason why I never qualify lol.
On a side note, cleaner racing would definitely be appreciated, but adversely it would take away a spec of this games charm in terms of making it to the podium after an “accident” happens.
The safety rating should apply in career mode as well. If you start from 24 and just ram, you can’t make any progress. In fact, you’ll even be told “good race” afterwards.
I’ve always been a fan of how iRacing lets other drivers on track know other players safety rating by a small colored decal on the bumper.
Example, blue decal is S… I know I can probably run pretty them tight and we’ll have some good racing. Yellow decal is C, be cautious… leave some extra room maybe.
That would be a pretty nifty feature, though it would probably make more sense to have it shown next to a player’s gamertag in this instance as the idea of it taking a spot on a bumper may cover decal design.
I personally wouldn’t mind if it were adopted either way.
please vote we need to find a solution for drivers who don’t respect the rules of the track or the race and just spoil our game must give bann 1 hour and then you have to consider the penalties when I drive correctly AND the driver who hits me from behind or from the side gives us +5.00 seconds with no reason
