It amuses me that the best Playground could come up with is something that, again, we as players can do better using Blueprints.
I don’t understand this implementation of this so called ‘world cup’. When I first heard about it I thought it would show a schematic similar to that of the Peel P50 gifting thingy, with every country with a car represented in the game.
Then based on how much each countries’ manufacturers cars were driven and for how long would add to a percentage total for each country, as they obviously collect this data. This would continue for the entirety of Series 4.
But whatever crap they’ve decided it should be is ridiculous - giving 6 unequal and different vehicles for each seasonal event is stupid.
As someone has stated above, Japan will win the trial event as the Mitsubishi eclipse is used over anything else. This trend most likely exists for the other events however I haven’t seen any trends.
Even with absolutely no knowledge of anyone else I can safely say Japan won’t be near the top for the CC championship.
Who knows how this actually works though or even if there is anything to work? I’m jumping into it deciding to stick with Japan for the rest of the series but those who think the reward is already set in stone and aren’t bothering with any particular country are probably right.
There is just too many unanswered questions if it is a genuine contest…
Why is there no leaderboard with each countries contribution?
How does the weekly Forzathon work with the points if you can use a different country for each chapter?
Does a country receive points if someone replays + wins the Trial or PGG after already doing so?
If they use another country on 1 of those replays does that country receive points or is it only the country of the car you used in your initial completion that receives points towards it?
Are all 6 cars available to rent in the trial? I had a trial last night where there were 4 stock Eclipses, which makes no sense at all.
Its terrible. The devs didn’t sound excited about any of it either. These updates suck and the most of the cars are recycled garbage.
I think they cottoned on that a lot of people were getting both reward cars without having to do the championships, most people will attempt the trial because that will get them 10 points, they will also do the weekly, and as most of the pr stunts are relatively easy they will do them and any photo challenge and the daily, also do the arcade and playground games, and event lab or treasure chest as well as the usual take part in eliminator and tour, or open race which mostly before was points for just taking part, I admit I have done it doing just enough to unlock both cars, but what they have done this week is try to force people to do championship races by taking out the pr stuff.
So according to the in game message I got, Japan is currently leading they did give some (made up) meaningless percentage figure for it.
That’s not surprising at all considering how popular JDM cars are pretty much everywhere. As multiple people stated, the Eclipse is everywhere in The Trial. I was the only Mustang in mine and there may have been one other car besides an Eclipse.
Those numbers are probably accurate.
Even if they track & show real usage numbers this time I think the win of Japan will be inevitable. JDM cars are simply too popular in comparison to the rest.
I suspect they will publish some figure every week claiming that one country of other is winng with another fake percentage to support that then at end announce a winner and then we get the car.
As others have pointed out, I believe the main issue is that in the Trial, the only rental car is the Eclipse. I believe that could be the cause of why Japan are winning outright. I’m not sure if the seasonal championships have only a single rental car, or Playground Games, but going forward it will be interesting to see if each week the leader corresponds to the rental car for the trial.
A nice concept, but I agree the restrictions in cars are more of a drawback than a necessary balancing act. Why is balancing even necessary when racing against AI and in non-competitive Playground Games? All one needs to do is participate in the events for it to register (according to the cryptic info from PG). I just hope the reward car is a new vehicle and not a recycled one that was removed from the roster for some inexplicable reason.
