Forza Virtual World Endurance Championship (Under Construction)

Welcome to the FVWEC!

This thread is currently Under Construction, but expect things to be popping up soon…

Overview
The FVWEC will host a variety of different length races through out its season, ranging from 1H to 2.4H to replicate endurance racing, but in a shorter format.
There is the usual host of classes; GT, P1 and P2. With certain P1 or P2 class cars, you will be allowed to specify the car as having a different engine to the one in game, I.e. for P1 the Aston Martin/Lola. These cars will have a (**) double asterisk next to them.
I plan on having multiple lobbies set up, with different hosts, so if you cannot join one, there will be more for you to try and join.

Rules, Lobby Settings, Qualifying and Start Procedure
The lobbies will be set to Simulation Damage, Contact On. During qualifying, the lobbies will be set to cosmetic damage and ghosts.
There will be no deliberate damaging of cars, or ganging up on one driver. Doing so will get you kicked from the series after the event.
Qualifying will be a 10 minute session, execpt for Le Mans (15 mins) and Nurburgring (20 mins).
After Qualifying the lobby settings will be set with the correct grid ordering (lobby points), and classes (if not already done)
To make seeing what class cars are coming behind you, there will be teams in the lobbies. If you are driving a GT Class Car: Red Team , P2 Class: Blue Team and P1 Class: Green Team.
The lobby will have buckets set up for the handicaps. These will be : UNHANDICAPPED (all cars without a handycap), Aston DBR9 (for the 20% power and 5% front and rear grip handicap on the Aston Martin DBR9) , 15percent Power (For the cars with the 15% power handicap) and 20percent Power (For the cars with a 20% power handicap)
There will be a warmup lap on every race so that the drivers can get their tires warmed up and also figure out a starting strategy. 5-9 minutes will be added to each race and each class will start their warm up lap with 30 seconds in between each class with everyone going single file at a maximum of 60kmh and the polesitter of each class will be the pace keeper for their class. On the last two turns of the lap each class will go into a two wide formation and the Pace Keeper will call the green once the clock has ticked over to the start of the race.

Safety Car
There will be a safety car in use for the all rounds. There will be parade lap for the warm up in each race in which the saftey car will lead the LMP1 field for the most of the lap and before the last two turns, the safety car will pull off.
The safety car will come out at any incident, and will do a speed of 80kmh and will stay out untill the incident is cleared.
All the hosts will declare that safety car is called if an accident occurs.

Scoring
Drivers Points
Each class will be scored accordingly:
1st: 40 , 2nd: 35 , 3rd: 28, 4th: 21, 5th: 18, 6th: 15, 7th: 12, 8th: 9, 9th: 8, 10th: 7, 11th: 6, 12th : 5, 13th: 4 , 14th: 3 , 15th: 2, 16th: 1
For coming 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall, there is a bonus point available.
Manufacturer Points
Points won in races from all drivers go towards the manufacturer’s championship. Each Class will have it’s own separate Manufacturer’s Title.
Teams Title
Points won in races from all drivers and their team members will go towards a team total.

Sounds interesting, depending on the schedule, I might be interested to take part. Couple points you might want to elaborate on further:

  • Projected dates/times for the races [i.e.: Saturday Nights at 8pm EDT]
  • Upgrade/PI restrictions for each car/class [what is permissible, what is not; PI ranges per-Class]
  • Scoring [finishing points, driver/team/marque titles, penalties]

Tach

My thinking is the cars don’t really need upgrading.
Dates are hard to work out because i am only on the 360 one week then not on the other.
It is also under construction so I am working on those things

Ok, well, good luck sorting things out. Interested to see what unfolds. I will say though, based on previous experience (4 Seasons in the FSCS), there are going to be some cars that will easily dominate the rest of the field if some balancing is not done.

Yeah, I will be sure to make sure all lap times are within a few seconds of each other.
I might post up the Lap times here, and update the builds when I’m done//
Only problem is, I can’t compare the #08 Gallardo and the #33 Honda Lola as I don’t have the DLC for those…
Thanks for the advice  Its greatly appreciated

I could help with the gallardo and the lola if youd like. I’d just need to know what lap times youre shooting for

That would be great! I have lap times in the post above, and i can use your Honda Lola lap as a base time to work around.
For now just run the two cars stock, give me the times.

\

Ran a few test laps with these, 3 total - 2 flying, manual trans no clutch, only ABS, otherwise bone stock:

Flying Lizard - 1:54.657
Z4 GT3 - 1:56.686
M3 GTR - 1:54.937
Ford GT - 1:54.776
Aston DBR9 - 1:52.410 (this one gave me trouble, probably better than the time I posted)

Well you’re quicker than me…
Would you mind helping me by doing the rest of the GT Cars?

The M3 GT2s are identical cars, as are the GT3 RSRs and the Astons, so use the same values for them. I don’t have the McLaren or Lamborghini. If you or that other guy don’t do the others today, I can do whatever GTs are left this evening.

Ok thanks, Its just your Z4 time is wayyyy quicker than mine…

I can also help with some number boards and other series vinyls if you’d like. Let me know.

I have made up number boards, but i’d gratefully except a better ones  Also if you could be on hand for distribution that would be great
Would you mind signing up on the forums? I’ll make you a Staff member, cause you seem to have some knowledge on a seiries of this type

intrested and may be able to bring in a few other from our club, as with others its a day dependency thing and time as our club also race on f1 and are from both sides of the pond with a few in Europe, can also help out with group/number boards, just have a look in my S/F there on all my cars as were coming to the end of our endurance series
S/F search FCR STEALTH
let me know can supply you with template either way or make alterations

Sure, I’ll work some more detailed boards up this evening. I already have the IMSA logo and some other vinyls on my s/f. I’m happy to help you organize things but really signing-on to compete /administer is going to depend on the race times - I have little kids so I really only race in the evenings. If these are going to be weekend afternoons, then I will only be providing some initial help with the vinyls and some advice. Happy to do that in either case.
