Aside from the one troll in the LeMans event I found a great group of guys in the ABC’S lobby. It was about eight of us all racing for three hours some quicker than I am and some slower but great clean racing. It’s been pretty clean for me in the last two months but I have blocked a ton of wreckers and trolls.
I seriously have to question if Turn10 even plays their own game online. The current system is incredibly unfair to the people that are there to actually play the game. Block so that we are not put in a lobby with them in the future (whooptie-doo, so next time it won’t be them, just another wrecker instead); report the behavior so that MS knows they are a nuisance (does literally nothing… and, again, they are still in the lobby); vote to kick, ask that the rest of the players in the lobby vote to kick as well, hope that they do - then when they don’t either you have to just deal with it and hope the wrecker(s) get bored or you have to leave and find another lobby that, at this point, more than likely has a wrecker in it as well. I mean, really? That’s it? What was so horrible about user-created lobbies from FM4 and Horizon that prompted Turn10 to change it? The way it is now, you have a lot of people that just refuse to play because of how bad it is online. And for the ones that dare to tough it out, they are rewarded with a terrible experience. These wreckers are like a Hydra, deal with one and two more pop up, it’s never-ending.
I, for one, will not race in a public lobby with collisions on. Tried it and the amount of frustration it caused outweighed the fun. With the collision-off lobbies, I at least have more fun than frustration (although I have some of that with dashboard kicks and the occasional pause/fast forward racing).
I actually watched a few of the Forza trolling videos. One commenter said “I can’t believe people get so mad at having their virtual car hit”. I know, at least for me, the anger comes at somebody who is serving no purpose other than ruining the fun of others. The thought that others celebrate people who purposely ruin the fun of others is both sad and pathetic.
Just goes to show “if you build it, they will be dumb”.

Those you spot glitching or wrecking people and ruining normal game play, should be REPORTED by going into VIEW GAMER CARD, then Report or block, followed by Report, then select Unsporting behavior. There is then a box to fill in like “CRASHER” - disruptive in races, causes wrecks, etc. Followed by Report to Xbox.
If you have the accurate gamertag, in the Xbox One Dashboard, go Friends, in the left column use either “Recent Players” or “Find someone” and put the tag in there. The same reporting system as above is in effect, and you can file the report there.
This sends a report directly to the Xbox LIVE Policy Enforcement Team which will investigate, maybe even visit and observe the offender during gaming sessions, and then ban that person from not just a single game but Xbox LIVE itself.
This really does help guys, I race online every night and rarely have issues with crashers anymore. Just keep blocking and reporting them.
If you report and block them you will find cleaner lobbies faster. I have blocked and reported so many players that it’s rare that I get a Crasher in any of the lobbies I’m in. If one does join they get the same response as the rest and leave the lobbies soon afterwards cause they can no longer catch us or wreck us cause we know their tricks when they wait for us to come around again.
It’s very annoying trying to have a clean race when 2-4 kids in Formula 1 cars crash into you or pull you out of the track.
i always block anyone who is a deliberate crasher but to fill the report in is long winded and slow i think hopefully with a few new game releases coming out the crashers and trolls move on to new games…if your in a lobby with good clean racers wether they fast or slow this is by far the best racing ive had in all the forza games i also play gt6 and forza 5 has to be the best…forza 4 had its fair share of crashers and trolls but towards the end of me playing forza 4 i found it very rare to be in an online demo derby… the trolls wont stop me playing forza 5 daily!!
If you folks spent as much time Reporting the offenders to the Xbox LIVE Policy Enforcement Team (PET) as you do posting, these bad actors would be taken care of in due time. If you don’t file a Report on them, you are accepting their behavior.
If there are eight regular players in a race, four bad guys, and eight Reports get filed in a consistent manner, guess what happens? The PET folks take notice and do what they’re supposed to do. If no one files the Report, there is no information recorded of the unsportsmanlike conduct.
So, is the semi-solution to these problems to create lobbies that somehow differentiate the style of driver? I have no way of guessing how this could be implemented but it would be nice to know that there are some “clean” lobbies that would encourage more serious racing.
Interestingly enough, it has been nice to read the stories of those (including myself) who completed the 2.4 hours of Le Mans and, although the start was a little shaky, those who obviously weren’t serious about completing the race ditched after a few minutes, for the most part. Perhaps lobbies of longer race length and a system that black flags (kicks) participants after not having completed a lap within a generous pre-established amount of time is a good way to combat this sort of trolling.
Just use the existing tool of reporting the offenders to the Xbox LIVE Policy Enforcement Team as I’ve posted previously in this thread.
That will solve a whole lot of issues instead of wasting time trying to come up with new solutions.
This started out as a thread just to vent on some trolling that was going on, Johnson wasn’t trying to get a wishlist going for a better system.
As Snow has already stated in every thread that gets turned into “We need a better system” the current system DOES work but no one uses it. T10 staff cannot be in every lobby policing, that is where you come in. When you report someone it does get looked into, and action will be taken if the person is breaking the TOS.
Taking the 30 seconds to block and report someone WILL improve your online experience and it will also improve everyone else’s in the communities as well.
There’s been a ton of people posting they refuse to play online due to wreckers and we are essentially letting the wreckers ruin the game for everyone else. We need to take back the hoppers and BLOCK and REPORT the trolls.
I know it’s not instant but it’s longer lasting. If you look around the forums at all you’ll notice the “why have I been banned” threads. Every one of those threads is proof that the system works.
i think the system that is in place is working quite well with blocked players i havent encountered anyone yet that i have blocked prob in excess of 200 or so lol, on the 360 i avoided players for crashing and glitching and still enended up in same lobby at some point, its just the report part now i type crasher in the report screen and it doesnt enter so i have to delete text to continue hence i dont file a report but this may be an error on my side… back on topic i watched some trolling videos on youtube at work last nite and the trolls want there 5 mins of fame but its the same with any cod and play hardcore mode they drop a grenade at spawn and wipe there team out trolls will be trolls regardless of game genre
After you type the description you have to press B to get the keyboard off the screen. Then you should be able to submit as normal.
thanks for that hopefully now i can also report as well as block and rid the world of trolls
Yeah I by no means was saying the system doesn’t work because it does. Granted I don’t get the instant gratification of somebody getting banned but I have seen some names that I reported asking why they have been banned. Block and report does work I was just explaining my disgust with the 1000s of youtube trolling videos.
For those that are generally clean (mistakes happen) find me in a hopper some time and let’s go fast!
School just did let out or will soon for others so lobbies should get interesting.
When people are wrecking people on purpose and just “having fun their way” they’re taking away other people’s opportunity to have fun in the way chose and in a race lobby just happens to be the way the developers intended them to have fun. There are dozens of titles for people that think fun is making sure no one else has any. None of them mentionable on this forum.
Most of the time they are behind me because I just caught them and passed them. So “to keep things interesting” you chose to wreck them. Again that is dumb. What’s smarter is to reach out to some of these guys that are really fast and ask for guidance and how to get faster so u don’t have to resort to wrecking. Speed is the answer not your bumper
I don’t understand why taking the lead in an aggressive manner is dumb. What you are saying to me sounds like someone has taken the lead from you by strategically positioning their car to push yours out of the way, likely during a turn. There are ways to avoid them crashing into your car - if you cannot take the pressure of the lead, you could slow down and let them pass, or you could move over and provide them space to pass. Guidance is useful too though
