Forza Motorsport track list discussion

No way they will tell you that now. They know DLC tracks are useless from FM6. I am confident any tracks added later will be free and in the rotation.

With the announcement today of Eagle Rock there’s only 6 more launch tracks yet to be revealed. Will they be new tracks, or old tracks?

Can’t say I’m a fan of Eagle Rock. I’m not a fan of oval racing generally though, but I would’ve at least preferred Daytona as it is thos host of events like the 24hr there.

Nurburgring has gotta be one right?

Paul Ricard has been used in promo materials.

FM has routinely been dominated by US tracks so I gotta think Warkins Glen, Road Atlanta and Like Rock will be returning.

I really hope Long Beach returns as I love street circuits and wish they’d add more real ones (oh how I hated Prague and Rio).

Bathurst would be great to see.

All that said, I love that with this not being “FM8” and the clear indications of long term support and new content, there will be a long pipeline pf more tracks added throughout the game’s life.

The Nurburgring was confirmed in the Developer Direct video, so that means only five to go. If it’s anything by the most popular tracks in the track voting section here, assuming we’re getting them at launch, we’re likely getting:

  • Autodromo de Interlagos - NEW
  • Fujimi Kaido
  • Mount Panorama Circuit
  • New York Circuit
  • Tsukuba Circuit

And plus they have good chances, other than being in the top-most voted tracks, because:

Fujimi Kaido - Turn Ten have acknowledged this track’s popularity in the past, that it would simply be difficult to ignore both its existence and demand by die-hard fans. However, given the sheer scale of the track (comparable to the Nordschleife in the Nurburgring), it’s likely gonna take a lot of work, though. This track was popular for drifting/touge and hillclimb events back in Motorsport 3 and 4, although it did feature in the original Motorsport, albeit in a different layout. If anything, they should take after the Motorsport 3 and 4 versions.

Mount Panorama Circuit - Considering the fact we’re still getting V8 Supercars, it would be a crime not to add their natural habitat, and plus, this Australian circuit is immensely popular with the GT race cars and touring cars we’re likely gonna get, which will fit the theme of Motorsport very well.

New York Circuit - Other than being the most-voted city track, Microsoft has an experience centre in Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, where they’re using a McLaren Senna as a sim rig for Forza Horizon 5., which could see the New York Circuit have a good chance at returning. If anything, they’re gonna have to massively overhaul the track’s surroundings to match the era of the modern day. The layout that fans would likely want would be the significantly longer version seen in the original Motorsport (full circuit), and the one seen in Motorsport 3 (short circuit).

Tsukuba Circuit - This track has been missing from the Xbox One era, and was popular for use in time attacks and grassroots motorsport. One extra Japanese track won’t hurt after all, after the lack of real Japanese tracks during the Xbox One generation (minus Suzuka in Motorsport 7). After all, the Xbox brand is gaining a resurgence in popularity in the Japanese market in recent times, as Xbox Series consoles are outselling even the original Xbox in Japan, so it would make sense to bring back most of the elements of Japanese motorsport back into Forza.

Wish I could add one more circuit: Mobility Resort Motegi, but it’s unclear whether we’re launching with exactly 20 tracks or over 20 tracks.

Have V8 Supercars been confirmed?

Gotta day I missed the bit about Nurburgring in the Developer Direct?

Bathurst is definitely a safe bet. Tsukuba has decent odds since it’s a smaller course, which will be nice to have for lower class vehicles. New York and Fujimi Kaido, however, are probably very unlikely. Since the developers have hinted at dropping previous fictional street courses such as Prague and Rio, I really doubt they would bother resurrecting New York, at least at this time. Fujimi Kaido also doesn’t stand very good odds at being added due to the existence of Circuit Hakone (a Japanese circuit presumably on the titular mountain).

What am I, chopped liver?

I think this is terrible. Not only will FM feature only 20 tracks at launch, which is laughably little by today’s standards, they’re even wasting those few slots to simple ovals like this. An oval track is completely useless for any kind of car racing save for NASCAR or Indy, which they were built for. What does a street Audi look for there? It’s so silly, unrealistic, it’s like seeing Forza Horizon again. Will there be a Hot Wheels loop-de-loop track among those 20 in the end? This is so utterly disappointing, putting these American nonsense tracks in the game when there’s so little room to make it at least somewhat varied. If the game had 35-40 tracks at launch, tracks like this would have a place. But when it’s only 20 we’re dealing with, including a simple oval will seriously limit the options further. It doesn’t even look that good to begin with.

I’m starting to write off this game as another childish, smoke and mirrors racing game without true realism or substance.

You could clearly see a Holden VF Commodore V8 Supercar here:

Go to 5:53 at the Developer Direct video, you can clearly see the Total 24 Hours of Nurburgring logo and the iconic BMW bridge, which really screams Nurburgring:

I believe we wont be seeing Fujimi Kaido in the game. I hope to be wrong here, but they said that they wont include drifting in the game, so i guess that was a subtile anwser for the people that wanted this track.

It can appear as a post launch content

maybe, i really hope so. i have fond memories of that track. I hope they will somehow bring drifting in the game too. it is a motorsport discipline after all.

I give 0.1% chance of Fujimi Kaido making an appearance, its not a racing circuit and the new motorsport is most definitely a circuit racing focused game

I do agree Eagle Rock is a total waste of a track. I think all ovals are. Let alone this tiny boring thing.

I also don’t get why such a plain jane and non-current Audi is worthy of such an announcement either.

An oval circuit and people would rush to pre-order?

  • it’s pedal to the metal all the way that kind of circuit
  • if you even lift pedal you are out
  • pretty much like RidgeRacer I played on PS3 10 years ago and no sim needed

Anti-climax if asking me. My flashback is Scalectrix and Revell I had as a kid with not much you could do of a circuit.

Pretty much, yeah. I would appreciate it more if this track had an infield variation, from the looks of it, it just have a chicane. There are plenty of oval tracks that offer that (infield section) and more. This track will be the least favorite of everyone.

I’ll give them a chance to later add more locations.

To me beautyful surroundings matter, if so by peripheral vision it bring something special.

When I get 4 of those I will look into purchasing, not otherwise. It can be next spring or when ever.

  • Prague, Alpensee or whatever they were called

If anything, this laughable oval tells me the developers simply didn’t have enough development time. Maybe the final concept of the new FM was finalized too late, and they didn’t want to delay any more. So they release now and to fill in the environment list they created this oval thing. I don’t think it’s anything worth being proud of. It’s awkward. Not even a real location. I do hope the rest are the best race tracks in the world, and it’s a global list, not Sunset America.

Also, this yellow lighting is simply horrible. Looks like GRID. Even on screenshots where the Sun is visibly high, everything in the scene is just yellow/brown. Terrible artistic choice if it ends up like this. Dark, flat, no details visible.

All i know is the devs dont listen to what the fans want and also despise the JDM/Drift community so we will never see Fujimi/touge tracks or Tsukuba since that would actually make them happy

The only ither thing I’d say is that as much as most of us here think Eagle Rock is a waste, there are plenty of people is the US who love this kind of thing.

The track was probably put in for casuals, or people looking to get into track racing. Something easy.

I enjoy having one oval track as it’s fun to occasionally put the pedal to the metal and lean all the way in the corners.
Though I do agree that they are mostly boring and filler tracks if there are more of them. This doesn’t bother me, but I would prefer something else.

And no, I have very little faith in Fujimi Kaido and New York returning, at least for launch… but man do I wish to be wrong.
