Forza Motorsport 7 unicorn cars

With the July 10, 2017 update for Forza Motorsport 7, most of the previously exclusive cars have been unlocked and can now be brought directly in-game at anytime by spending in-game credits(CR). The cars that cannot be brought with CR include all Forza Edition cars that are not part of the VIP package and a few non-FE cars that would be referred to in previous games in the Forza Motorsport series as unicorn cars. A unicorn is a vehicle that can only be handed out by Turn 10 either for participation in an in-game event, meeting the requirements for a certain in-game event, or being rewarded through a photo or livery contest. Unicorns are not available as rentals and would not show up in the car collection list unless you own the unicorn car in your garage.

The list of unicorns in FM7 include the following vehicles:

  1. 1958 MG MGA Twin-Cam
  2. 2008 BMW Z4 M Coupe
  3. Unknown B class 2015 Ford

These cars while not considered unicorns by Turn 10 are still considered exclusive cars due to the fact that they are still locked:

  1. 2017 Porsche #92 Porsche GT Team 911 RSR
  2. 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Project Scorpio Edition
  3. All FE cars not included with the VIP package

Let me if there are any more unicorns other than the 2 vehicles mentioned above so I can add them to the list. Also, feel free to inform others of any events and contests where one can earn a unicorn car here.

Difference between a true unicorn and an exclusive car:

A true unicorn is any vehicle that cannot be brought nor rented in any way.

An exclusive car is any vehicle that cannot be brought directly yet can be brought and sold via the auction house provided that the car was not from a gift message and rented.

The 911 RSR and the Raptor are available as rentals, which makes me think it was a mistake on their part in not making these buyable since they mentioned in last week’s stream that the only 2 unicorns are the MG and the Z4.

That is why I added an R after those 2 cars to indicate that those 2 vehicles can be rented. If and when those 2 vehicles can be purchased directly with credits, I’ll remove them from the list of FM7 unicorn cars.

My bad, when I posted it you had only the list up, with no extra notes on the cars.
Good thread anyway, having a place to keep track of these things is always nice. :ok_hand:

If cars you can rent but can’t buy are Unicorns, then FE cars would be included.

As for true unicorns, there’s still mystery B513 2015 Ford that you can find in Free Play filters but can’t be seen.

Thank you for the information. I’ve split the list into 2, one for true unicorns and another for those cars that still locked despite the update, and added some information to clarify what is a unicorn and what is just merely exclusive. If and when Turn 10 unlocks the 2 remaining non FE exclusive vehicles that don’t have unicorn status, they’ll be removed from the list of exclusive cars.

I dont know why, but I have two 2017 Porsche #92 Porsche GT Team 911 RSR on my garage. Why is it so exclusive?

Edit: well, I have the 1958 MG MGA Twin-Cam and the 2008 BMW Z4 M Coupe too

Edit2: the B513 2015 Ford mistery, is a 2015 Ford Falcon XR8 and I already have it too

They were gift cars from certain bounty hunter events…they are not in the car collection screen unless you have them…so are still not purchaseable…so unicorns

Wrong, I see the Porsche 911 GTE on the Car Collection but it doesn’t allow me to purchase it and I don’t own it…

Which exact porsche is that…does is still appear as locked…is it the one that just got gifted to you
Is it one of the rewards from doing the showcase events in the single player career ???
All cars are supposed to purchaseable after the most
recent update..except the bmw and mg

Well well
So the #92 porsche rsr is still locked as exclusive content
That would make at least 3 unicorns then

If that’s correct, I have the unicorns and I’m only missing 2 FE cars in the game. The Ford Raptor and the Jaguar XJ220 ( which glitched when I tried downloading it, after earning it in a bounty event. ) I have 120M credits, so it looks like I’ll be buying lots of gear crates. Anybody know if the 2 I need can be auctioned? I’ve never seen them.

A unicorn could be defined as a mythical legendary beast with magical powers.

So the FE cars may have magical powers in that you get Bonus CR if you comply with certain conditions.

And according to legend (forum posts) you can’t see them - i.e. they don’t appear on your Car Collection screen - unless you own one.

As far as I am aware, unlocking details for the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Forza Edition have not yet been released.

The 1993 Jaguar XJ220 Forza Edition was unlocked in Bounty Hunter Event 2: The Pacemaker With Alan Hartman but quite a few of us have missed it.

It’s also mentioned in livery contests e.g.

Hopefully both cars will be a reward in a forthcoming challenge or event soon.

Ah ok… I feel good because I have all these cars, including the Raptor Project Scorpion
One question: I can sell only one of the Porsche 911 RSR on the auction house, but the price limit is 420.000. Why can not I raise the price? And why can not I sell the other one?

I actually have a nice Emperor Red Pearl 2015-16 FG-X XR8 Manual in real life. Love the beast. Only clocked up 11,650klm so far since new. It’s as clean as a pin . . But I love doing designs in the Forza one, to see what certain stripe kits would look like on her in real life. Beautiful car, does 0-100kph in 4.95sec . . . In real life.

HOWEVER, the GIFT 2015 Ford Falcon is in fact a late 2014 FG Ford GT-F 351 (which stand for 351kWts) NOT a 2015 FG-X Model. Which I did get by the way, but Anot the other two, yet I did qualify in the top 25% in the Asia pacific region for one of the rivals, as well as in the less than 50% in another, but have not got the Porsche or the MHA. As I’m uncertain to what they were for btw.

On a more precise factual point re the Mystery Ford . . . It’s the so-called 2015 FG GT-F 351. Read further please.

Turn 10 have listed most of the Ford late model Australian car manufacturing dates all screwed up sadly. Plus they are fully Australian cars NOT American cars, so they should have the Australian flags on ALL Australian cars. They have them on the Holdens, yet Holden is actuall General Motors Holden . . . a General Motors subsiduary . .

Even the so-called Coyote motors are NOT Coyote motors in all post 2010 Fords XR8s. They were designated (by Detroit) as Miami engines (google them - $AU40mil went into their development here is Australia.) and you’ll find the huge differences between the standard Coyote and the standard Miami.

So, the Unicorn or Gift Car, is in fact, the 2014 (Aka 2015 according to Turn10) FG GT-F 351 . . . . Not the 2015-16 FG-X XR8 which you can buy from the ‘Uncommon’ section.

Note to the other US Ford nuts out there. The FG had a production run from August 2010 through to August 2014.

There is always a cross overlap of production models, so that there was never a lack of stock of new cars and the last model etc.

The last off the line were in mid October 2014, with the newer FG-X becoming available in November that year (2014). Which was the OFFICIAL release date, 2014 - 2016.

Location in this game is done by manufacturer, so all Fords are “American”. The Mk1 Escort was never an American car, yet there it is with the American flag.

In fact, I think the Falcons only became more “Australian” than “American” from the XA onwards, if we consider only the cars in Forza. The situation of the early models is confusing since they were American projects adapted to Australia rather than being born in Australia. And Ford is not an Australian nor European company, but American, and there was plenty of technological trade between the various divisions of Ford in the past, starting in the 70s when Ford decided to merge their German and British operations under a single subsidiary in Europe. So it’s complicated, mainly due to how Ford handled its overseas operations compared to GM.

The biggest issue I had with this classification was in FH3. There’s a “Ford vs Holden” category in that game and it encompasses EVERY Ford no matter where it was built, and ONLY Holdens badged as “Holden”, not HDT nor HSV. I had to use “Aussie Rules” to get the cars I wanted instead, which included the Valiant Charger.

Many gifted cars can not be sold or auctioned (only removed from the inventory). I got one RSR by levelling up and one was a gift, so I could sell one via auction.

The price limits depend on the cars. You could only charge more if you had a legendary status (painter / tuner). Why would you want to raise the price ? Greedy ?

No… Is that in other cars I can increase the price beyond the normal price, and in this car I can not.
Usually I set the initial bid low, and to “buy now” a very high value, only to encourage bidding and not just buy for the higher amount.

That is great news, sounds like we might finally have an almost fully functional game. I’d given up playing it after the Forzathons changed from monthly to weekly, but it sounds worth running it up again now.

I am truly pissed about this. I love the Porsche GTE and I want it, I have Ultimate Edition, Pre Ordered the game and just because I was on vacations when they gave it I cannot have it. This is BS! I waited half a year for them to unlock it and they unlock almost all of the cars and leave this one locked?

I am sorry but this is not how you run a game, if you don’t please your customers they will stop giving you money.
