I fully agree with this. I mean about every other game developer announces to their player base what their intentions are with the game. From Turn 10 we get the middle finger. Why on earth don’t they announce DLC packs a week earlier and release the video already? That way we have a whole week to look forward to it. Why don’t we get CU updates anymore? Well either they basically don’t fix anything about the game anymore and focus fully on future titles (which in itself is lame, there is tons of stuff left to fix, just look at the bug report thread), or else they just CBA to inform us what is changed. This Dan Greenwallet’s vision of “my way or the highway” certainly sucks big time and it surely drives people away…
Some examples of how they should communicate with us :
And it’s not just racing games, I play HearthStone as well, same there with Blizzard Entertainment, they are very open with communication and you know well aforehand what direction the game is heading. The Old Gods expansion and included game changes have been announced months earlier in-game, on blogs, on the forum, etc etc.
Common Turn 10 so called “community managers”, stop playing your own game on Twitch twice a week, kick yourselves in the butt and start managing this community instead…
It would be nice if T10 either did a better job of hiding the hidden stuff in the game or were more open with the hidden stuff in the game. This model of hiding stuff in updates then pretending not to notice when people find it is very weird. I was lucky enough to stumble across the thread on the Silvia and get one but I am still convinced that the car was not supposed to be obtainable, it was a very obscure round about way of getting it.
Interesting…maybe they’ll provide a way to win a couple of different cars in their next contest??? Who knows.
Another new-to-the-series unicorn car. I still wish some of these were the free cars of the packs. At the same time, they do generate more interest in the game for some people.
Please, T10, stop with the unicorns? I thought T10 decided to stop this nonsense since FM5? So sad I missed out on the Huracan Super Trofeo and 70s Aston Martin, especially as I’m a VIP (not saying i’m entitled to these cars, but it would’ve been nice to be able to buy them, like say as an sub-group of VIP ONLY cars in the Buy Cars menu)…
At least I have the Ferrari Can-Am car and the Chryslus.
Now that is actually an excellent idea I haven’t heard before yet. And it would give some added value to being a VIP member because right now the only benefit is to have some extra cash in a game where cash is in abundance already. People who have a busy life and don’t play the game daily/weekly or started playing later can easily grab VIP membership and buy the missed unicorns that way.
This is what is already added to the game but not possible to buy right now :
1970 Dom’s charger
Classic Nissan Silvia
Ferrari 312 PB
1977 Aston V8
2015 Huracan ST
2008 Ferrari Cali
classic Ford RS1600
It’s exactly 7 cars, perfect for a DLC pack. If they add this to the store I’d buy it instantly and then also the last 2 DLC packs because right now the collector in me lost interest to collect cars. And there isn’t even one car in the Top Gear or Hot Wheels pack that I’d rather have than the Aston V8.
Until Turn 10 sorts out this mess, I’m happily playing Dirt Rally.
That’s an awesome pack (California excepted). That’s a pack I’d gladly pay good money for, especially over this month’s pack. (Thank you, what little Microsoft money I had left.)
As much as I wish they would finally get the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR into this game, I wish Turn 10 would just announce this pack and be done with it. Put this unicorn mess to bed once and for all.
Yeah, and there was weeks worth of time to get it. Participate in the series and you got it. Even racing clean laps got you on. Just because some people are lazy and entitled doesn’t mean the unicorns are bad.
In the instance you are referencing, you are correct. However, it was not always this way. In Forza 4, the unicorn cars were NOT handled in a manner that made them easy to acquire.
I also never stated that I feel unicorn cars are bad in principle. I’m explaining why they CAN be bad and your use of “lazy and entitled” is simply ridiculous as it has no bearing on this situation.
