Will be interesting to see if anybody will notice that.
Given how much of this game is tied to being online…yeah, I think they might notice.
Well, two at least.
Following the ExxonMobil-Forza partnership, on the one year anniversary the name of the game will officially be changed to - Valdez-Forza Motorsport.
Considering how many “New to Forza cars” have shown up in FH5 as well as some returning favorites ('67 Shelby GT500), I can see an “Anniversary pack” showing up for $4.99…
If Horizon gets all the new to the game cars for free and Motorsport Valdez gets a pay-to-play car pack it isn’t going to build any good will with players who have left and could possibly return. And especially it won’t build any good will those who stuck with the game.
FH5 has a number of paid content car packs already. The Shelby I referenced is in one with one of the other new cars, the Ginetta G10 RM in the “acceleration” car pack.
I’m just talking about the free cars FH5 has recently received. Valdez-Motorsport is still too new and yet too unrefined for the studio to start in with paid car packs. The ship is still sinking.
So, you’re on record for saying that the next track will be at the Suez Canal?
Over 600 cars and 27 tracks would be the end result, but if they still don’t make all tour reward cars available to buy and rent in Free Play, the car count could be even smaller.
Hahaha! Hey! Don’t give T10 any ideas. That one just might stick.
Well, the reverse happened for the last car pack for FH5. THe racing cars we have in the base Motorsport, FH5 had to pay for. Plus the car pass is over, the next logical thing (based on previous FM games) is to start releasing car packs. Just going by history for this franchise.
Except they had to abandon that plan in the last entry because of the screw-ups there, and as a result, nearly every car pack released after the car pass was a free update (I think Formula Drift was the only exception, and that was because it was tied to Forza Horizon 4’s preorder).
This game, by every metric, is worse than Forza Motorsport 7. Turn 10 would get shredded, and rightfully so, if they tried to sell car packs now.
Do you mean Forza Motorsport 7? All of Horizon 5’s paid car packs are still paid car packs.
FH5 has the player base and the studio support of the game to back up the paid car packs at this point in the game.
FM7 started in with the free car packs, I think, anticipating a quicker release for FM. And when that fell short they couldn’t back track and start charging for car packs. Except for the non VIP players.
FH5 is extending their platform lifeline probably because FH6 is having the same develoment issues as FM was having and maybe PGG doesn’t want to release a half baked cake like FM.
I’m not saying I agree with the idea, but after the continued missteps from T-10 regarding this franchise, it wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Well now that statement I certainly agree with.
Proximity Radar is available with update 10.0.
No crashes. It could be the best gift ever.
