If im honest i dont really care where it will be locatet as long as they make it fun.
With fun I mean, driving roads just like rally adventure mixed with a long highway and a dense map that ISNT as open as FH5. As someone before me said FH2 for example had a beatiful map that WASNT really open but it was very lively and realistic and somewhat of a dreamscape in a realistic way. It captured the Horizon Vibe perfectly FH3 is right behind that because some parts were pretty dull too but that are just some compared to many more breathtaking parts of the map. We need a modern city again too and multiple villages and small towns and places to meet (Random parking lots and for example a rest stop on the highway and a car park with a meet function). I would also like a more organic storyline like FH1 so i feel like im really taking part of a festival.
I have many more ideas but i think that would be too much for me to write down.
Basically what im saying is the Vibe in FH5 is really off. It turned into “just a racing game” i mean yes it is great still with all the cars and everything but it doesnt have that vibe anymore. And i know im not being nostalgic cuz i startet playing FH1 and 2 in 2021 and noticed how the vibe got lost over time with the strongest vibe beeing in FH2 imo. You just feel like you are really taking part of a festival and living a separate life in that game and that is what i think made the Horizon series special in the first place.
I’m a long time Horizon player but I’ve been playing Car X Street and TDU Solar Crown lately. I now realise just how bad the Horizon 5 map is. For Horizon 6 the developers really need to lift their game and give us decent and large map with one or more large cities for some proper street racing and drifting.
I absolutely 777% agree with you and @PandemicBow2072 although I’m waiting for CarXStreet to come to xbox series x and I’ll ask for TDUSC for Christmas and I personally believe that FH6 might keyword might be set in Japan giving that in almost every single update in FH5 we’ve been getting a lot of Japanese car’s and a great handful of them have been brand new to forza although with that said regardless of where FH6 will take place I’d love for a map similar to FH3 but maybe this time with a BIGGER DENSER ACTUAL CITY
I think they have learned theyre lesson, i hope they design the map for great and longtime driving joy with easter eggs and secret parts of the map. I personaly dont think it will be japan but eventually Asia as a continent (like FH2 Europe) or China. Japan as a standalone is too hard to do.
A couple of days ago I played The Crew 2 for the first time. It has the entire USA as a map. It’s amazing. It took me almost an hour to go from West coast to East coast with an Audi TT RS. I took a small 18 km detour to deliver a package as well. Yes, there are courier side missions (and taxi missions too apparently but haven’t done that yet).
How awesome would it be if Forza Horizon took some inspiration from TC2? Large USA map, courier and taxi missions. Taking an hour to go from west to east. It would be amazing for online play. Just cruising around with your mates and doing meetings at petrol stations or parking lots (TC2 has plenty of those).
Whatever they do, FH6 should have a much more fun map. The entire USA would make it the greatest racing game in history, especially if they add all the FH5 cars as well.
I agree to some degree, but the intire USA would just not be possible with forza like graphics and they will not try to downgrade the graphics. Also as known the USA is already used by TC2 and many players dont want the “same” map again. Also yes the mini missions are cool but Forza isnt TC2 or GTA we need the Horizon Vibe back and yes mini missions could help with that but you would need to make them more specific and related to horizon (somehow connected to the Festival). Also a large map doesnt equal a good/fun map, you can perfectly see that in FH5. Just play FH2 once and you will feel like that map is 2 times bigger than FH5, just because of many areas being inaccesible. Yes that is also a negative but tbh i dont need 30 different fields that are huge and all feel and look the same to drive on. Yes these fields also existed in FH2 but you couldnt drive around all of them and that was and is totally fine by me.
I totally agree that the map should be more fun than FH5, but we’va had europe but a country or region not really explored by any racing game would be for example: China (Ik TDU SC is based in hong kong), Korea and especially Africa.
Africa, in my eyes, is too similar to Mexico. China would be something completely new to the series and with all the competition for Forza rn (The Crew, TDU…), Forza has to knock it out of the park with FH6.
I’ve heard rumours going around that it might be set in Tokyo. Honestly, I don’t really mind where they do it, as long as it’s not a repeat of previous locations and they don’t make the map too small. Personally though I have one main problem with FH5’s map, since it’s so big there seems to be endless races and events, and personally I feel it’s a bit overwhelming, and would be annoying for some other players to keep up with the large amounts of content.
It’d be good if they made another Hot Wheels expansion pack though. The HW from FH3 is an absolute vibe, and I feel like they could’ve done better with the FH5 HW.
I think Tokyo is very unlikely, as its not as diverse and Japan as a whole would be too difficult cuz all people have their expectations super high eith japan and would be disapointed.
I also think another HW expansion could only come way after release like a 3rd expansion but also unlikely.
Yeah. I don’t know honestly. It’s pretty hard to do anything else after FH5 considering it’s already so big with so many features, so maybe they just shouldn’t make a 6th FH.
Nah mate i disagree FH5 is not that good. The map alone needs an overhaul. And since the next game will be next gen, we will much likeley have a more dense map (not much bigger but denser) wich would be the right move, since in terms of graphics, there isnt much headroom i’d say and the room that is there would take up too many recorces. Also the new Forzatech engine is in the early stages as you can see in FM, the game looks worse than FM7, has less cars than FM7 and less tracks too. I think they saw the critisism and Xbox and Forza cant afford to have two flopp games in a row
Oh no, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying FH5 is good, because it’s not. I’m just saying it’s hard to one-up everything they’ve done in FH5. You can’t make everyone happy, so some people will like it if they re-do it in FH6, but others won’t since it’ll be like a ctrl+c, ctrl+v with it’s new features.
Imo FH5 is not a bad game, totally not but after 3 years the map is just realy boring, heck it was boring 1 year in. But the Car list is great, the Graphics are great, The new gamemode has soooo much potential and is also pretty dope at the moment. But they cant just re-do it that doesnt work, i mean stuff like the festival playlist and stuff will most likely be copy pasted over and the core mechanics also will probably stay the same. I just hope they do it in a more organic way more of a buildup like FH1, FH2 & FH3 (also FH4 had elements of that, just not as great, but FH5 doesnt have that) where you were emersed into the horizon vibe.
Well that’s just my opinion at least. I’ve had problems with FH5 since day 1, and I honestly find it quite overwhelming the amount of new features that’s been added. There have been some great improvements, yeah, but that’s just how I see the situation. I do agree though with the Horizon-y vibe, it would be nice to have a bit more structure to the game.
Yeah okay i cant say anything about your personal experience, for me im pretty happy with how the game turned out, the first year was pretty bad tbh but i think they flipped it around.
Yes. My experience with FH5 over the last year is pretty great tbh, but im just talking about the content updates. The base game is not really it. As i said it doesnt feel like Horizon anymore its just a cool racing game. Older Horizon games wernt just racing games, they also had the festival in the forground and everything evolved around it and the focus on the festival is lost, yes the festival itself is there but not the feeling of that festival.
