Forza horizon 6 crazy map idea

Hello Playground Games / Turn 10 team,
With the excitement surrounding Forza Horizon 6’s 2026 release, a concept for a “World Tour” style game has emerged from recent discussions about the series’ future, especially if FH6 were to be the final Horizon title. This idea could deliver a fresh and expansive experience.
The Core Idea:
Instead of a single location, imagine Forza Horizon 6 taking players on a global festival adventure, visiting multiple distinct and iconic regions around the world – perhaps including highly requested locations like Japan and Germany [adjust based on preferred locations]. These could act as large, detailed “hubs” for the festival.
Addressing the “How” - Technical Feasibility:
The immense technical challenges of a seamless, truly global map are understood. However, this concept could be implemented using loading screens between these distinct regional hubs, similar to transitions to event islands or the Rally DLC in Forza Horizon 5. The power of the Xbox Series X|S, with its fast SSDs and processing capabilities, makes this more feasible than on previous generations. Games like The Crew 2 showed what was possible even on older hardware with scaled-down versions of entire countries. The key would be balancing the scale of multiple regions with the incredibly high level of detail and authenticity Forza Horizon is known for within each hub.
Why a World Tour could be a game-changer:
Unparalleled Variety: Imagine driving through the winding touge roads of Japan one moment and then tearing down the Autobahn in Germany the next. This would offer an incredible diversity of landscapes, cultures, and driving challenges that a single map cannot provide.
Enhanced Longevity: Multiple unique regions could offer a wealth of content, keeping the game fresh and engaging for a longer period.
Celebrating Global Car Culture: Each hub could lean into the local car culture, allowing for more focused car lists and events within each region. This could also potentially offer more flexibility in managing car licenses for specific regions over time.
Ultimate Festival Fantasy: For a potential final Horizon game, a “World Tour” would be the ultimate culmination of the festival theme, truly bringing the Horizon experience to a global scale.
Addressing Delisting Concerns (Potentially): While licensing is complex, separating maps into regions could potentially offer more flexibility in managing licenses for specific cars or regions down the line, potentially mitigating the impact of expiring agreements on the entire game.
Potential Hurdles and Considerations:
Development Resources: This would be a massive undertaking, requiring significant resources and a potentially longer development cycle.
Maintaining Detail: The challenge would be to maintain the signature Forza Horizon level of detail within each hub, avoiding the feeling of a rushed or generic open world.
Seamless Experience: While loading screens are a solution, ensuring smooth transitions and a cohesive overall festival feel across regions would be important.
Car Licensing: While potentially more flexible, the cost and complexity of securing licenses for cars and potentially region-specific cultural elements would still be a factor.
The potential rewards of a “World Tour” concept for Forza Horizon 6, particularly on the powerful new-gen consoles, may outweigh the challenges. It is an idea that could truly elevate the series and provide a memorable and epic finale (if it were to be the last) that celebrates everything the community loves about Forza Horizon.
What are your thoughts on this idea? Let’s discuss!

I do like the idea but it would be hard pass if I had to endure loading screens every time I wanted to go from one area to another. If they maybe just had each zone separated by a winding tunnel we actually drive through, maybe, that could work for me. At least it would give people something to do without sitting and being bored.

It’s an interesting concept. I’ve had a similar idea like this in the past, but never shared it. That being said, I’m not sure I’d want some weird immersion-breaking combo-world like the second Hot Wheels expansion, only with different countries. If the developers were to bring this concept to life, I’d prefer it if there were separate maps for each country.

Also, I’m not sure why you think this concept skirts around licensing issues involving delisting. I don’t really see a workaround around that unless you have an extremely streamlined car list that can be renewed every few years for cheaps.
