Forza Horizon 4 Wheel support

Sounds like you dont have the problem I have with G27, have to turn wheel 90 degrees before car wheel responds. I had hoped it wasnt only me, dont see how it can be only me, sigh.

I’m lucky because I don’t have that problem on asphalt, but racing on surfaces like dirt, grass, etc. cars become much harder to control (no matter what settings I try). By the time I need to counter-steer to correct over, or under steer… The car has already spun out. Thus, the game is unplayable with a G27 since most of the races are non-asphalt races.

Like others have wrote… FH4 is made for a controller and no amount of settings will “fix” a game meant for a certain type of input device being played on another.

I sent ticket to Microsoft as follows

Works fine with Forza 7 and online version of Horizon 2. Bought Horizon 4, disc, have now tried, uninstalled, reinstalled a 2nd time, same results. The wheel wont turn the car until you turn it a quarter of a turn or 100 degrees, completely unusable, undrivable. I tried the axis settings and made drastic changes just to see if anything, nothing, no help at all
Then if I have tried to play HZ4 I cant play my other games, they do the same thing unless I do a complete restart of the box.
I notice when I click in the wheel while on the other games it makes me sign in to my user name again, does NOT do that with Horizon 4 even though I am signed in per the game screen. Pedals work but wheel does this,.

Changing “wheel rotation angle” seems to help, but still not good enough - has to be a way to make it better.

Outside steering dead zone “20” !!!

Also try setting center spring higher…worked for the TX wheel anyway

I have a G25 but cannot get it to work properly.
The Logitech gaming software will not pick the game up properly and i can’t link to it as i don’t have permissions?
So I’ve resorted to trying the in-game settings but i cannot get it to adjust properly. the Car is on full lock with only an inch moved on my steering wheel - this makes it impossible to play with.

Does anyone with the G25 have a solution for this as i’m back on a xbox controller for now

The wheel software does not have to pick the game up really, just change the Global Settings to the normal settings like in the post I link below.

Try mine in this post on another thread. https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postsm972640_Wheel-degrees-and-settings.aspx#post_972640

I have no issues with my G25, set to 900 degree’s and it uses nearly all of it for max lock on most of road cars tried so far in game.

From same thread post 119

Ignore the in car wheel animation it only shows wheel moving 180 degrees ie 90 each way.
If you have your wheel set to 900, the animation will only follow it for 90 each way, even though your wheel has an effect on steering for another 300 degrees or more each way.

I very rarely use the in car view with steering wheel as it messes with your sense of control, I use the next view which is without the wheel, nice and immersive and still see the dials.

Thanks for this thread.

I did not buy forza horizon 3 because of the bad wheel support.

Too bad… I will not buy forza horizon 4 for the exact same reason.

Rendez-vous is taken for fh5…

Thrusmaster T300rs user here.
Setting steering outside dead zone to 20 and inside to 0 makes driving way better.
Still car is very hard to control on dirt and spins out way more easily than while using xbox gamepad. Mostly noticeable on stock cars, on wheel accelerating on full throttle will end up badly while on gamepad car goes straight forward. Im very dissapointed that wheel doesnt work out of the box like in other games (dirt, asseto corsa, iracing etc)

For anyone else considering using a wheel with Forza Horizon 4 on PC the Logitech G920 does not support force feedback on PC.
Also, it doesn’t support the same button mapping prompts as the xbox controller.
When plugged into an xbox the wheel behaves completely differently than plugged into a PC (it actually has FFB) and the buttons match the on screen prompts.
Do not buy this game for PC if you are expecting to be able to use a wheel with it.

While on the road and you come upon an event how do you know if you have completed it or not, if you look at the map it tells you but what if you are on the road and you see an event?

I’m also trying the Fh4 demo using a Logitech G27
is totally impossibile to drive any car, i made a little video here: https://www.reddit.com/r/forza/comments/9m4kha/cannot_setup_logitech_g27_on_pc_for_fh4_demo_all/

Force Feedback is working, but since i cannot drive anything correctly i cannot give a real feedback on how it feels.

Hoping for a fix!

Be warned the Demo is an earlier build and does not have the recent update that was released a few days ago.

So, DO NOT BUY THE FULL GAME based on your wheel experience with the demo.

This is why myself and others are having a terrible time with wheels on the full game (T10/PG broke the OK wheel support in the demo, so now it’s almost completely unplayable with a wheel no matter the settings).

Is there a way to have look back button mapped to Fanatec csw v2 when using paddle shifters? If there is i don’t see it.

A lot of binding and compatibility issues need to be addressed here dev team!?!,… I play on pc. Played most of the forza series, but also a lot more hardcore sim racing games, as a result I have quite an intricate set up of sim racing equipment, more often than not binding controls is a simple affair, select the control, move desired device and bingo no problem, except in FH4s case, after trying a various amount of remedies e.g. plug in sequence, driver/firmware updates and restarts of all shapes and sizes, FH4 still refuses to save and implement wheel setups and bindings given to it, it detects the wheel and pedal input without a problem, and all other various buttons I bind, but when saved and exit to the game, a few key bindings return to undefined no matter what I do, all other bindings are saved no worries, but - accel, brake, clutch and steering return to undefined regardless and for no good reason I can see,
I’m running a thrustmaster tx, and fanatec clubsport pedals, the even crazier part is on the FH4 demo, I had no issue of this kind at all

Thrustmaster TX wheel user

Initially I had no ffb, just a wheel with full rotation. Updated the wheels firmware, still no ffb. Tested wheel with fh4, fm7, others, with no issue ffb worked fine. Test ffb from thrustmaster wheel control panel with no issue. Relaunched fh4 no ffb.

After losing hope, I just unplugged the power to the wheel while in game and reconnected. BINGO! I had ffb in the wheel. Restarted fh4. Again, no ffb. Pulled the power while in game and reconnected. BINGO! FFB works again.

I dont know if there is a bug in the game or what, but that’s my workaround for the thrustmaster tx not having any ffb, remove the power cable from wheel while I. Game and reconnect.

However, this seems to only fix the rotation ffb which returns to center, I still dont have vibration. For instance, when driving over rocks there is no movement only the auto rotation to center when turning.

Hope this helps someone, good luck!

Since i have pre ordered the game i have not been able to play any sort of online gameplay. My microsoft account i purchased the game on is connected to my xbox account and yet i am left with the issue of an infinite loading menu when i try to load online or i get a notice saying that it is connecting to horizon life, then the prompt dissapears. Please Forza help.

“Hey, so your settings seem fine other than the outside deadzones, which I would highly recommend setting to 20 (lowest setting) so you can get full 1:1 response”

I think that only works with certain wheels, seen TMX or some such mentioned with it.

I get 1:1 steering with my G25 with the deadzones at default 0 in 100 out. Tried out to 20, just made my cars turning circle extremely large and could not get round hairpins. (wheel set to 900 degrees)

Could be you have sensitivity higher than usual 50 which may compensate for smaller steering lock on the car.

Hi i’m a fan of the game for few years now and bought fh4 straight away but when i play on my main acc (where for some reason i cant acces other peoples paintjobs, tunes and the auction house) with my thrustmaster t150 there is no problem but when i use my other acc where i can acces everything my wheel doesnt work. can anyone help me fix the thing with parental control ( i tried everything but nothing works) or help me fix the problem with my wheel

Thrustmaster Spider wont work correctly in FH4. All cars have oversteering issue. Drifting is impossible. I compare this wheel in FH2, FH3 and FM5 and only FH4 have this problem.
