Open world, buying properties, character customization, Horizon Life (where you can get a job in the game), and up to 70+ players driving around in real time.
Mix all that with Forzavista, 450+ cars, Forza physics and car customization and you basically have something like Forza Drive Horizon Unlimited 2018.
I know there are features in TDU that probably won’t make it to FH4 but hell, for people who are into TDU, this is probably the closest we’ll get to a TDU game.
I agree, TDU2 was an awesome game in spite of its flaws. It’s a shame it’s pretty much dead now, but hopefully the Horizon franchise will pick up the banner for this type of game and take it forwards.
Forza Horizon 3 Australia was way too tiny for that “TDU-like” experience where exploration felt real. Let’s hope Horizon 4 map is actually large this time.
Yeah; I looked forward to accessing the Goliath circuit when I first found out about it, but was quite disappointed once I’d driven it and found it was only around a quarter of the length of the longest race or two in the first TDU game.
If they added in TDU 2’s casino I’d be sold for life. TDU was such a failure when it became multiplayer, so many complaints they went bankrupt. This will be an epic start to forza horizon series not at all implying the casino but the properties good deal. Who cares about the location, if you are a fan…you will buy it. Anyways off topic, TDU was awesome Forza since the original xbox has always been awesome. More features is always a good thing
72 players is gonna be INSANE. I was just thrilled about a new location. I was jumping up like a little kid when the trailer got played. I’m gonna be shut in that entire weekend for the early release. FMs are cool but Horizons are on a whole other level. The expansions are a breeze too.

I really enjoyed the openness of TDU and TDU2. The only online feature missing between the two games is the “always online”. You didn’t have to search or join an online lobby but you did have to join your friends lobby when a spot became available. I can live without the Casino, it’s a racing game not a Casino…
The real question is, how will this work with off road? I can definitely see this only being applied to dirt roads and pavement. Would be a real downer if this can’t be used to plot course that are entirely off road.
“Open world” = Much smaller than in TDU
“Buying properties” = Much less than in TDU, and propably you can’t walk around in them. Also I’m sure we can’t see all our cars in garages like in TDU.
“Character customization” = I have no idea if this will be better or not
“Horizon Life (where you can get a job in the game)” = …
“Up to 70+ players driving around in real time.” = May be good or chaos (bad)
To be even same level as TDU I want:
Huge map
Car dealerships/showrooms around the map
Different OEM wheels and interior colours/materials
Real estate, well, we will kinda have it but only 10 properties, TDU had over 50.
Honestly the map size kills it for me, an article already said it’s the same size as FH3 (which I found way too small), they gloss it over saying the seasons make it feel like 4 different maps. With that alone, it’ll never be TDU epic as far as exporation. I’m still purchasing it, but I’ll be playing the Crew 2 to appease my need for total exploration with its massive map.
I started to play TDU1 in 2006 and later TDU2 for many years loved these games years ago. TDU1 was better than TDU2 in my opinion.
I like to play Forza Horizon 3 but a friend just told me Forza Horizon 4 is coming out. I did some research about this game and was impressed and just ordered the Ultimate Forza Horizon 4 edition.
