Kinda like TDU2

This game has reminded me of test drive unlimited 2. But so much better in every way, except… The way everyone is have issues, save corruptions, hanging on the loading screen, and just random lose of cars and people having to start over, and so far no support, or ideas from T10. I really hope they can get this fixed, it drove a lot of people away from tdu2, including myself. I do love this game but it seems to be broken and needs a fix ASAP.

Well, more like original TDU. I’m playing Horizon 2 since launch and there are no issues. Oh yes, that VIP thing was glitched for couple of days so I lost couple of VIP wheelspins. Nothing is corrupted, nothing is lost and my buddies are okay. TDU 2… Well, I can recall. This was a disaster. Unplaybale at launch, no physics and constant issues.

TDU2 was a great game. if it had the backing that this game had it would have been epic.

I did like that in TDU2 the map was actually open. u could drive anywhere and everywhere. in FH2 there are many places that have walls you cant access.

Also the distance away from you for the other online players was nice. it was way easier to find people in free roam. in Horizon you only see something above there head when they are very close

Most people are their own worst enemies when it comes too installing software, as well as having too many thing’s going on when they are installing…I always take my time and wait for things too install before doing other things…and in a lot of cases so far a hard reboot has solved a lot of issues for people, I have yet too have issues with any of my forza games…and I have them all…and nobody under the age of 50 touches my games or console…it’s kinda hard too offer support to people who have caused their own issues…but I do realise that some of these issues are bugs of sorts and are being fixed.

The physics turned me off the TDU games tbh, but there was a lot to like there.

IMO the perfect car game would play like FH2 in physics, car feel and structure, combined with TDU’s interactivity, i.e. property, stores and such.

That would be a perfect game in this genre. A TDU2 style home garage with Forza style models would be…

This.

TDU still wins hands down for me in terms of map size and playability, but where Forza Horizon overtakes it is how the map feels. TDU was never as satisfying in terms of driving, but Forza nails it.

As for running problems, I remember TDU2 being much, much worse than Horizon 1 or 2. I think I can count on one hand the number of times in the opening weeks that my mates and I could actually connect to the servers and be in-game with one another. At present Horizon has it’s issues but I’m wondering how many of them come down on Turn 10/ Playground Games’ shoulders as opposed to Microsoft. I’ve found Destiny to be particularly bad recently (since the launch of Horizon 2 - I’m not suggesting a link).

I agree with this too. I loved tdu2 some of the most fun I’ve had. And people love to say how rubbish that game was. But it still managed so many features on “old gen” that some claimed is not possible or had not been until now.

Dynamic weather
properties
actual car dealers
full car options interior choices/factory rim selection
convertible roof up/down
volume control for radio
headlight on/off/flash
indicators /turn signals
1000 miles of driveable road (or something close to that)
two locations
customisable avatar/person/clothes
motorcycle add on

These are just some of the features I can think of from tdu that we still can’t do on any current gen game (weather excluded. And gta will bring roof up/down hahaha) and no matter how much they’re requested we’ll likely not see them…I’d like to be proved wrong though…

This is not a wish list just a comparison

That’s why I have some faith in “The Crew” over FH2 to a certain extent all it has to offer vs. the disaster that was TDU2(infrogames/Atari/Eden Studios) I didn’t touch TDU2 due to all the issues and physics yet I liked TDU and thought it had an immense amount of potential early on. Eagerly awaiting the crew because test drive unlimited one creators are lead producing they have ubisoft’s money behind them and they brought in the Driver San Francisco’s Developers to help them tighten up the product and environments and hopefully some of DSF’s amazing muscle car handling model. I can only dream at this point, a lot ppl on this forum already hate The Crew for no real reason other than the beta and whos developing and its premise.

I am a member of the set of ‘everyone’ and I have had not a single one of these issues. Not a one. Several hundred thousand players have not been here to the forums to report having issues.

While there do appear to be some issues effecting some users, never mistake the less than one percent of one percent of the playerbase that post here on the forums as somehow in any way representative of the playebase as a whole. Hasty Generalizations, Law of Small Numbers, Availability Bias and all that sort.

The only issue that seems widespread is the silent R32 Nissan. My game works A-OK besides that.

It’s great that some of u feel the less of one percent don’t matter, and that we somehow caused the issues ourselves, I’m not trying to start a flame war by any means. Just looking for help, or answers. And I’m sorry if you feel that losing your game, cars progress etc… Is no big deal, but it is, for those of us have lost it, it gut wrenching. Like I said I’m not here for a fight, we all have better things to do. I just want help, not knowing if I should try and re buy my cars, or wait and see if they comeback, since it still says I own them when when I load my game

I did not write or imply that the less than one percent do not matter.
I did not write or imply that the loss of game progress or assets was no big deal.

What I did actually write was that one should never make the mistake of extrapolating some sort of truth about the entire set of ‘everyone’ out of what is a statistically insignificant sample size represented by regular posters on this forum. The set of regular posters on this forum, being less than one percent of the playerbase as a whole, are statistically insignificant for the purposes of extrapolation. That is not to say that they are unimportant or that their concerns are unworthy of consideration. It’s simply the way the mathematics works out. They are important and especially so because they tend to be the most passionate fans of the series and almost to a man want only to see the series improve. They are a vitally important demographic and a voice for the many who do not post on the forums but despite that they remain an exceedingly small minority of the playerbase. Their priorities are not always the same as those of the playerbase as a whole and are not always the same as Turn 10 themselves.

I’ll wait here while the salient points are overlooked in favour of some feigning indignity at mathematical reality.

I posted here two weeks ago with a loading screen sync error asking for help, bumped the thread twice asking other questions seeking all options and no one helped. So the generalization about T10’s support on this issue was correct. When a problem happens directly to you it’s important, but everyone else, even the people who have suggestions, or could help just carry on business as usual, because it’s just the 1%… Well the 1% invested money into a product that’s not delivering for some reason.

I learned that by deleting my local game save, uninstalling the game, then re-installing the game, then allowing the game to sync again helped me. So now I pass that information onto other who are experiencing this issue. It’s helped some, but did nothing for others.

Did u get all of ur game things back? Cars, credits, progress etc… If that didn’t work for me, would I lose everything? Cause all I’m really missing is my cars, do u think it would be worth it? Can u explain exactly what u did? I’m on midnights this week, but will try it later.
Thx,

I got so excited for this game when they said it was fully open wold initially. I loved how TDU2 was with that and I hated how boxed in I felt in the original Horizon… Horzion 2 is better, but it was just so much fun in TDU2 being in a group of people trying to climb a mountain. Part of the fun of that game was just goofing off offroad.

Feels like TDU2? This game doesn’t even have half of what TDU2 had to offer. That game in terms of what you could do was amazing, Horizon 2 doesn’t even come close to it. TDU2 was and is an amazing game, since it offer a whole complete experience. Drive around for countless hours without driving the same road twice. Buy cars at actual car dealers. Paint them, upgrade them, even wash them at the car wash. 2 huge worlds, motorcycles, lot’s of races and challenges. Buy houses, clothes and so on. Dynamic weather with a weather forecast. Oh and best of all… test drive cars for free! Yes, the game has it’s problems, but if you pick the right cars or motorcycle the game is lot’s of fun and amazing… nothing that is around offers the same experience, yet. The Crew looks interesting, maybe it will come close. While Horizon 1 and 2 are a lot of fun and solid driving games, they do not offer the same amazing experience that TDU1 & 2 offer. FH2 360 doesn’t even come close to the way TDU2 looks, let alone the game experience. FH2 XO sure looks a way better, but gameplay wise it’s still a long way from TDU2.

One thing that Horizon 2 added that makes me smile is the dirt on the cars. It was one of my favourite things in TDU2 when going off-road in search of wrecks or photo locations. There was a perverse enjoyment in getting my (insert sportscar name) absolutely filthy!

No garage queens for me lol!

To the ones talking about the issues in TDU2: the only thing I had was bunch of troubles with TDU2, no playing with my friends, updates don’t show up for me, invisible people, invisible buildings, bunch of glitches, I could go on for an hour or two. That game is as reliable as a Jaguar: you rent it, and at the end of the rental, you throw the disc to Movie Gallery and you run from your two legs.

You should not rent TDU2 for a long weekend and even less buy it, you are warned!
