Forza Horizon 4 Route Creation Contest - Routecomp2

Welcome to the Forza Horizon 4 contest for all those Route Creators out there! We want you to create a set of racing events for us to feature in PG EDITOR’S CHOICE. If you have any issues, bugs or feedback & suggestions relating to the Route Creator, please submit a ticket here here.

This thread will close midday on 2nd Febuary, and judging will begin. No other entries will be taken after judging begins. Please ensure that all entries follow the submission instructions, or this may make the entry void and therefore not entered in to the contest.

All submissions will be judged by members of Turn 10 studios and Playground Games design team. The number of winners each contest is subject to change.

Rules of the Contest

• All submissions must adhere to Forza’s ‘E for Everyone’ policy, and the Xbox Live Code of Conduct - https://www.xbox.com/en-US/legal/codeofconduct
• You MUST post in this thread to be entered into the contest
• The route must be designed by you only and be your creation. Routes submitted previously are not allowed and therefore may disqualify you from the current & future contests.
• The Blueprint Event you create with your route must meet the season, car and PI requirements as set out in the theme.
• Entrants can submit a maximum of 2 routes, per season, per person. (i.e. 2 routes in Summer, 2 in Autumn, and so on)
• The total time to complete the event may not exceed 5 minutes.
• The route should be created on Great Britain.

Themes for the competition are:

  • Summer: 2016 Hoonigan Gymkhana 9 Ford Focus RS RX, (‘S1’ Class)
  • Autumn: Classic Rally, (Max PI: 'C’600)
  • Winter: Offroad Buggies, (Max PI: 'A’800)
  • Spring: Modern Sports Cars, (Max PI: 'S1’900)
    Submission Recommendations
  • Think about Checkpoint placement. Seeing the next checkpoint makes the route easier to drive.
  • Think about the terrain around the route. Rocks close to the route can make it hard to drive especially in Winter.
  • Think about an impressive visual moment along the route. Weather, Time of Day and the route chosen can create this visual aspect.

Submission Instructions
• You must share your route in-game to have it featured.
• A photo of the route flyer and route (before you click save) must accompany your post.
• Photos should be posted by retrieving a BBCode from a photo sharing service (such as Flickr)
• When posting your route creation, you must include:
o Gamertag
o Event Name
o Route Start Location
o Description (optional)
o Length of route (miles)
o Type of route (Point-to-point or circuit)
o Laps (If circuit)
o Theme

Alright, I was waiting for another one of these. Before I get started though, I was curious as to whether Fortune Island routes would be accepted. It wasn’t specified whether or not they were fair game.

We would like the routes to be from the main Great Britain island and not Fortune Island. I’ll update the first post to coincide with this.

Can routes be qualified without the class limit because no subcription to Horizon Life?

Ok I’m starting.

Was on a winter break, come back to find knights of the round and a new route contest. It begins!

@RetroKrystal, rules clarification question.

“Winter: Offroad Buggies, (Max PI: 'A’800)”

It states max. So it would be well within rules to submit it as a B class or can we not have a class restriction so people can run as desired and just say what car we used for testing?

My custom route is better suited for anything goes and faster cars which I already created, however I created a blueprint to match this contests’ requirements. I find it amazing we don’t have the ability to delete blueprints as I was testing the different times of day, only to have now 2 versions of the route. Hope this is available at some point.

Gamertag: romeoteknik

Description: Re-creation of Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans)

Time taken to complete the entire event: ~3:40 minutes

***Outside this contest, I recommend Playground Games play my “Anything Goes” version (which is 2 laps) and the time of day/weather is set to “Current”, so whatever is current on your game will be what the route plays. A shame “Current” setting doesn’t work for Season however. (submitted a support ticket on this already)

Thanks for clearing that up. As for my first entry…

Gamertag: EmeraldSundisk
Route Name: Festival Scramble
Route Start Location: Horizon Festival Circuit
Description: A short circuit making use of the festival’s castle grounds.
Length of route (miles): 1.5 miles
Laps (If circuit): 3 laps
Season Chosen: Autumn
Time taken to complete the entire event: 4 minutes, 30 seconds

Ooh! That looks fun! The run up the side of the strip is a nice accent. Will need to check it out!

Hope you enjoy it!

I’m also wondering this. The MAX is S1 but I was curious if we could enter an A-class event for Spring provided it still used modern sports cars.

As for my second entry…

Gamertag: EmeraldSundisk
Route Name: Switchback-To-Back
Route Start Location: Waterhead Sprint
Description: A more technical circuit on the roads just north of the festival.
Length of route (miles): 4.6 miles
Laps (If circuit): 2 laps
Season Chosen: Spring
Time taken to complete the entire event: 5 minutes, 0 seconds

Still can’t set a PI/class even after following the directions and haven’t yet gotten an answer from the ticket I submitted. But I’ll go ahead and post these anyway and repost if it ever magically fixes itself. I feel like most of the Modern Sports Cars fit A class better so that’s what I used for the times and what I intended to set the class at if I had the ability. And hopefully after the next update we can delete blueprints.
