Oh, I get it, and I’m sure some others do as well. The only good thing that this tells us loyal 360 people is that T10 and Playground aren’t going to do anything at all, which to think about it, it’s not good at all! They aren’t going to tell Sumo Digital to step up their game, because the version of Horizon 2 they’ve made is complete trash compared to the XB1 version. To me, what he said is really kind of offensive me, because he’s really telling us to screw ourselves because we are 360 people, who are not fortunate and/or rich enough to get an XB1 AND Horizon 2. Wow, I now really wish I’ve never played the XB1 version, it’s a lot better than the 360 version.
What you don’t get is that the 360 version may never have existed at all (it is the first time that the Forza series has been available on two different generations if console - and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if it never happens again). For a lot of games that do exist on both they are either very simple in terms of strain on the console, just a yearly update (COD and the like don’t have much in the way of underlying code and haven’t really evolved much either and can offer similar versions as a result) or they are like Forza where sacrifices need to made.
The 360 cannot handle the XB1 version - simply not able to do it, so the choice is a lesser version for the 360 (which is what happened) or a dumbed down XB1 version (which would have been crucified for being a step backwards on a newer generation console).
As for the glitches and the like - nothing new in a Forza game and most of them go untouched regardless (XB1 has some glitches too). For DLC - there was probably a decision to made here that ended up being something like “we are giving our fans still on the 360 something, but is it worth the time and money investment to do DLC for it?” Probably not and being a Microsoft studio developer it is surprising that the game existed in the first place on 360, let alone the cost of DLC.
For WSDs comment - do you complain when MS stop supporting old versions of Windows? Does it bother you when a manufacturer updates the car you own? Things move on and at some point a BUSINESS has to decide if something is worth supporting any longer - the rapidly diminishing returns and the need to focus on the newer generation means that everything in the modern world will have to be allowed to die - my old man just discovered this with his smart phone. Sumo did what they were told to do and as far as you being a 360 person - the reality is that console is now being allowed to die slowly - I still have my N64, still play it from time to time but there is no support at all for it (and god forbid it should actually die one day, but that is life). As for being fortunate/wealthy enough - it is an entertainment product and as such a luxury product and will never be available to everyone (it is a want and means we have to forgo other things to have them sometimes - and sometimes there just isn’t something to give up).If you want the XB1 - save up, sacrifice other luxuries and you will get there (and the price will come down gradually too) - or find a way to add to your income (extra shifts, different work, birthdays and christmas as well - mine was a christmas present). Otherwise - you at least have something on your 360 to play in the mean time that is newer than FM4/FH1.
Honestly, I think that it would be better if T10/Playground wouldn’t have even released Horizon 2 on the 360 in the first place. It just seems like a total downgrade to the other Forza’s in the past. Granted that being said, I know the 360 can’t handle NEARLY anything the XB1 can on the games over there, but it baffles me as to how different AND how buggy and glitchy the game is on the 360. As being a 14 year old kid, working is not an option for me because of other family issues that I won’t mention… As for birthday’s and Christmas, I usually get only one or two presents as I don’t want to many things, because most of the things I have satisfy me, and my family not being the most fortunate. The reason I don’t have an XB1 yet is that my parents have more important things to spend their money on (like fixing a broken car, fixing things that are a NEED to fix, etc.).
You’re right, glitches aren’t anything new, but I’m disappointed as I have played all Forza’s on the 360 with the exception of the original Horizon, and comparing to the amount of glitches and how many glitches are game-breaking, Horizon 2 on the 360 BY FAR takes the cake for this. I never said anything of the DLC’s as I usually don’t buy them, but I see what you mean about them.
No I don’t complain at all if there’s a new version of something that is existent, and whatever that company took care of that product, they drop support of it, and I know that. I even have an N64 and a PS1 inherited from my brother, and I do play both of those from time to time because even though I’m only 14, those systems were my childhood and I love those with the games I have on them. It’s just the complete fact that, when they made the decision to release Horizon 2 on the 360, they probably knew that there was going to be some backlash because they had to downgrade it from the XB1, but that’s a business decision, and I respect that. It’s just it seems that the 360 version was poorly made. I know Sumo was given orders to downgrade the game because the 360 wouldn’t handle the differences on the XB1 (like rain, tuning, 12 player racing, etc.), but there are just massive amounts of missing details and glitches that make the game COMPLETELY different. The only key similarities are the map (mostly, but there are many missing things), car list (a lot of cars are missing), and the speed traps (even some of these are missing). There were the cars that were exclusive to the 360 version, but those came into DLC’s. The XB1 people don’t get this as far as I’ve seen, but the reason people are mad is because there are SO many differences, that it’s not the same game at all for the most part. T10 and Playground never stated the differences between the two versions other than the graphics, and when people got Horizon 2, they feel that they were scammed on by the key differences that they wanted in their game on the 360. I am a hardcore Forza fan, and when I saw gameplay from YouTubers on Forza Horizon 2, even though it was on the XB1, the only differences I thought there were was the graphics, and that’s obvious. Like I stated before, T10 NEVER stated any differences until AFTER the game was released, and the things that people wanted on the 360 that they THOUGHT was going to be the same, is completely removed from the 360 version and T10/Playground hasn’t said A SINGLE THING about these issues.
Overall, I feel that I want to return Horizon 2 to the store I got it from, but I will lose about 40$ in the process to the 50$ my parents spent for it. I just feel bad that, for my b-day, I wanted my parents to get a game that I thought was good and finished, but it wasn’t, and I feel bad that I made my parents waste their hard earned money on a game I don’t like.
I got Forza Horizon 2 for the Xbox 360, and there are a lot, and I mean A LOT of dumbed down things, and I’m really disappointed by Sumo Digital for not doing the best job on the 360 version. The tuning (I’m a HUGE tuner myself, look on Forza 4 if you don’t believe me), graphics (I’m just saying this because it’s dumbed down, but I really don’t care about them), engine swaps (no V8, V12, or Rally Engine, that’s the most I was looking forward to, it sucks that they’re not in the 360 version), too many invisible walls (I feel that Sumo spent more time and resources making these invisible walls, instead of letting people drive through the blocked off areas), too many blocked off areas (this one is just ridiculous, golf course AND docks blocked off? There’s even glitches to go into those areas, and the textures and the ground to drive on are STILL THERE), here’s a BIG one, the glitches (wow… I’ve NEVER seen a game this broken since Sonic the Hedgehog made in 06’. Just the ways to glitch into restricted areas, falling through the ground, glitching out of the map in the Playground mode, etc. It’s endless, and it’s pathetic!), the paintjobs (I saw what paint options were on the XB1, and I was excited, but they’re not on the 360! The console might not be able to handle it though), too many bumpy roads (about 30% of the roads make my cars just fly into the air!), the last race (on the XB1, you actually feel that you achieved the winner of Horizon with a 20 minute point-to-point race that gives you 1 million credits. On the 360, it’s just a mere 5-6 minute 2 lap race that gives you only 30,000 credits. You get more in online!), NO TIER REWARDS (come on now T10, you can’t do this? At least you and Playground didn’t make the 360 version?, hackers (in multiplayer, there are a lot of level 999’s that sometimes use a really fast speed boost. When I look at their Gamerscore, they only have like 20G of Forza Horizon 2), the wheel spin (really, the XB1 players have a chance to get 100k or even a new car, while the 360 guys get a whopping 2,500 credits), no online freeroam (can the 360 not handle this? I would understand that, but come on!) There’s probably even more bad things to mention about the 360 version of Horizon 2. It makes me wonder why T10 and Playground wanted a 360 version, if it was going to be a copy and paste from the first Horizon. I might just try to complete all of the achievements for the 360 version and trade it back in, because the 360 version in my opinion is bogus. I love the Forza series, and this is an all time low for this series. I think if T10 and Playground found a better company than Sumo to handle the 360 version, the community that stuck with Forza on the 360 would be A LOT happier. It seems like marketing because they didn’t tell people the differences between the two consoles, and that the 360 version was simply the same, dumbed down Forza 4 engine, with a different map, some 20-ish new cars, and a kind-of new story (I just think that you just race over and over again to finish the game). If I knew these things, overall, I would’ve gotten the original Horizon instead! My advice is, get the XB1 version of the game, it’s AMAZING on that console. I’ve played the XB1 version at my buddy’s house, and it’s A LOT better. I feel sorry for you if you have the 360 version
I payed £35.99 for Forza Horizon 2 a couple of months ago and I was shocked at the quality and lack of features in comparison to the xbox one version of the game.
Do the developers think we’re not all equal because we’re on an older generation console? Why wouldn’t they make the game the exact same on both consoles?
I bought a game and only got 75% of what I was told I’d be getting on the case. You want to know what that is? That’s scamming. Turn 10 is a scam and they know it yet won’t do anything about it. They don’t think about their 360 customers, you know, the people who paid full price and got half the game? Yeah, those people…
We as 360 users are outraged at the fact that Turn 10 doesn’t listen to their fans. They should use our feedback to improve the game but won’t.
I have seen that there are cars not in the 360 versions cars I noticed are the Ram runner, Mercedes benz A 45 AMG and E 63 AMG, Mini cooper John Cooper Works GP2012, 2015 Volvo S60 Polestar and please if any one noticed other cars please reply fast
Well thats really sad! No rewards for the 360 version? Just bought a copy last week and have been on the rewards page every day to see when it was updating. Now I find this thread! I don’t plan on getting an xbox one anyway so I thought meh, why not try it for 360.
There can’t be an excuse good enough for that one. I don’t think we should put all the blame on Sumo Digital, its Turn10 & Microsoft that funded the port and while some may feel we should be happy we even got a 360 version, I am personally very sad and lost faith as a consumer in the Forza brand due to this! If you release a product, no matter the platform, do your best to bring the best, full product to every platform. Again: I seriously doubt technical limitations of the console stopped rewards from working. What a few lines of code that downloads and uploads some data off their servers couldn’t be run on a 360? I guess I can understand DLC support… they would need to keep funding Sumo Digital for its development and maintenance but this…
Also: does anyone know if FH2: F & F suffered the same faith? Do rewards work on the 360 version?
Having seen the number of responses regarding the lack of DLC cars and car packs for Horizon 2 on the 360, it makes me wonder if Microsoft realise how much money they are losing. If it is a ploy to encourage 360 gamers to move on to X-box One, I am sure that will be a big mistake. I, for one, will not be rushing out to buy an X-box One and probably won’t ever. A bit of advice Microsoft - use your head, increase your income and introduce add-ons to the 360 version.
There’s not enough profit available there for them to want to bother. Not to mention that the 360 version is based off of the H1 engine anyways, so it’s too garbage to want to bother with DLC anyways.
The Console is 10 year sold. And the Bone is 2 years old. It’s perfectly fair for them to want to encourage people to make the jump.
hi guys , was playing Forza Horizon (I could not find the right forum) and was playing the last race sponsor, but something strange happened to me ( look at the picture as description ), is something like this possible ???
I bought the game because of the cool specifications, i red on xbox.com that on 3 oct 2014 there will be an launch bonus car pack for xbox one and XBOX 360!!! So i bought it. But when i wanted to download the DLC it wasn’t there. I’m a Land rover fan so i bought the game also for the land rover defender, in the launch bonus car pack. So i’m very disapointed because in the online freeroam there are no vehicles driving around, you can’t see your friends vinylgroups and the DLC’s. Is there any change that they are going to add the DLC and a better online version to the xbox 360 version? Because i realy hope that. (sorry for the bad english)
I have gone into the back part of the airport, gone into a pond, play on the railroad tracks, play some golf and note that my friend went into the storm island dlc area and got banned from the game by sumo… (the glitch was really weird because there was one part where both controllers started to rumble
I look at forza horizon 2 on 360… then I just… ugh
I almost feel like FH2 is like windows 10. on how craftily made both are.
but I mean the game its self it good… although if you go onto sumos site and see the ad is for the version with rain and other cars that are not in the game at all… kind of false advertising?
yes it would have bean nice to put DLC and rain in the game. but come on don’t just give a half baked game to a system that you have cherished for a while and then throw it away because the new thing is cooler and new.
(just saying I do like forza horizon 2 even with these problems)
While I appreciate that the game was released for Xbox 360, I don’t know whether I’m being greedy or upset for a valid reason. I understand that the last-gen console doesn’t come close to nearing the hardware power of the Xbox One. I also understand that majority of people have transitioned to the new console and that the life of the Xbox 360’s support will come to a demise(as with all game consoles). However, some part of me feels that more effort should have been made to let “360-only” owners of FH:2 having no support, updates, or even in-game events provided on such a platform.
I have to say, the $50 (USD) starting price of Forza Horizon 2 on the Xbox 360 had caused me to wonder. I do not currently own an Xbox One, but that doesn’t mean I don’t support, agree with, or believe in the change. I think it’s a great thing that the Xbox One and PS4 exist, as maybe perhaps the last generation game consoles are holding us back. The only thing which I’m baffled about is why important information regarding the amount of game support, features, updates, events, etc. were not made clear or even not told to us.
