Forza Garage Week 4 - American cars

“This week in the Forza Garage we are proud to announce a deep list of cars from America; more than 100 cars and trucks from as early as 1970 (earlier models were announced during Week 2)”

Are there any new cars in these? I’m not very good at spotting them.

Yes,
But it looks like they are from FH3.

I am a little disappointed with this list. :
No Cobalt SS
No 2006 Pontiac gto
Some fords are from Australia in this list too.
Too many off road vehicles from FH3. we are not going to have rally races…so…Why?

At least the Trans Am roster is back for this one. Even if there’s no 6th generation Celica.

“1986 Dodge Shelby Omni GLHS”

Can’t recall if it was in the 360 games, but this is definitely new to the One games!

No AMC Gremlin though. Shame.

Yep, new to XB1. It was DLC in FM4.

Interesting. The Gremlin, CS, GMC, Aztek, and Tesla might come later (maybe in some miscellaneous reveal?) but the Camaro and Focus surprised me. The 2015 Z/28 was the end of the 5th gens, so the new SS or ZL1 shouldn’t have replaced it, and the 2012 ZL1 coming back shouldn’t have caused it either. I’d say maybe the 2015 is gone because of the new 2017 coming, but I don’t even think that’s been confirmed or revealed or anything yet. The Focus might be updated with the 2017 version…maybe… I’d think the RS is too different to replace it. Oh well, wait and see I guess.

I mentioned the Charger, because to me, that really was the most striking omission.

Sure. Of course people would. I thought a guy on these forums actually bought a 2012 tC because he liked it so much in Forza. I wouldn’t mind seeing them come back, if for no other reason, more cars to play with.

The lack of new cars kind of surprises me too. There’s only been a small handful of them. I was thinking two things in that regard: one being they’re coming in later reveals, much closer to launch, and two being that my sneaking suspicion is correct. There really aren’t many new cars coming, so to buff up the car list…we’ll have to wait for the race cars reveal to confirm if I’m right.

Notably present: The Shelby Omni, 2012 Camaro ZL1, 2012 Challenger 392, Pontiac G8 GXP, buggies. (?)

Notably absent: The Charger Hellcat.

Edit: I guess also notably absent: Lexus and Scion, brands which T10 considered USDM.

Also absent:
1973 AMC Gremlin X, which was in the FH3 Mountain Dew DLC this past June
2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, which was in both FH3 and FM6 launch rosters.
2013 Ford Focus ST, which has been in every Forza game launch roster since FH1
1966 Ford Country Squire, which was in FM6
1991 GMC Syclone, which was in FH3, FM6 and FM5 launch rosters
2005 Pontiac Aztek, which was in the Alpinestars DLC for FM6
Tesla, which was first added in FH2 and was in FM6 and FH3 launch rosters

Maybe a track specific car release is coming and will include the Camaro and Focus and HOPEFULLY the ZL1 1LE

There’s also no 1967 Ford Falcon XR GT.

The 67 Falcon was revealed with the rest of the pre 1970 muscle cars.

I must’ve missed that. I thought it was a bit strange not having it when it was only added in FH3.

Is anyone really going to miss Scion? Would be nice to have some Lexus but I never really use them. Most striking to me at least is that there is no 2018 cars here and only 1 so far and it is the new Porsche. There are 7, 2017 cars so far announced and I’m sure they’re pretty much all repeats from FH3.

I will. The tC was the closest we got to an 8th Gen Celica. It was often joked that tC stood for “the Celica”.

I really liked the Scion Tc in FM6. I converted to RWD and it was a very good all around car

what does this bring us to now in overall cars revealed?

Me, sort of. But that’s only because I owned a 2006 tc. I think the 2005 tc was on the 360 but never carried over. That was a better tunable car than the bulky 2012 redesign junk versions.

425 total with cars spottet in trailers and gameplay, 407 without them

My thoughts: Kind of disappointed at the lack of never seen before cars coming to the series, but at the same time, i’m glad they’re bringing in the cool stuff added into FH3, and some cars (Omni, Solstice, etc.) from the 360. I’d wager that they’re waiting to release the bulk of the new to the series cars until we move closer to the release date.

I’m hoping that’s the case because we are at less then 10 new to forza cars so far after 4 reveals, although the new to motorsport carry overs from horizon 3 are welcomed. My guess is next reveal is going to be either the big 3 German brands ( Audi, BMW, Mercedes) or just all European cars period, then we will get probably race cars thereafter followed by HOPEFULLY new to series cars.

We are at exactly 3 new cars. The 2017 Porsche GT2 RS ; 2017 Porsche 919 and the old Alfa Romeo F1 car. That’s it for the moment.
