When will see the next Game night? I remember when Horizon was released, there was a lot of Game nights within the first few months or so. I would think that T10 would do the same with Forza 5 to promote the game and allow the community to talk with the community team about their favorite game.
So I have never been involved with an event like the Game With Dev that is going to be happening here shortly. My question is likely silly but will they in the whole game or simply in the multiplayer areas? I tried to find posts about it but was not having much success. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.
So the way the Game with Devs works is there will be maybe 4 to 5 of the Community Team members racing in multiplayer. I’m sure most of them will be on Forza 5 and then there will most likely be a couple on Horizon and Forza 4.
Go to Forza’s Facebook page and under the main page photo at the top, there will be “Photos”, “Twitter”, “Store” and then “Game with Turn 10”. Of course, click on “Game with Turn 10” and it’ll direct you to the Chatroom where the devs will say what game they are playing and where they are at in multiplayer. Just a bit of a warning now, you may have to try several times to get into a game with one if you do at all, so don’t get disappointed if you’re not able to play with a dev(Community team member).
The other thing, during these events, they usually give away free codes for cars/packs, so be sure to follow the chat room. Hope this helps. Cheers!
In response to my own post, I just thought of something. How in the world do they expect to do this on Forza 5 without the ability to search for Custom lobbies?
Not many to see yet there on Facebook. Also interesting how they gonna do with Forza 5 and the lack of making Public Lobbies (know only the Ranked & Private).
Well I managed to get in a lobby with johniwanna in both ABC’s and S class. I didn’t find the chat until late in the event so I am sure I likely missed out on some freebies, but thats ok. It was nice to run a multiplayer race without half the field treating it like it was tryouts for death race or MadMax. I will be better prepared for the next event.
Thanks T10 Developers!
I didn’t end up in a hopper with a Dev today, but I was following the chat. I thought it was great how at the begining you’d see posts from the Devs that guys were getting banned and then it suddenly went away. We ended up with a good 2-3 hours of clean racing.
I think we found our fix to the lobbies. Just have a Dev pop on at random times here and there. It’s kind of like not knowing if the car behind you is an unmarked police. You might be able to cut the car off and get away with it…or you might not.
Thanks for the clean racing T10.
I was on this event for about 2 and a quarter hours last night (I live in UK, so it was 10 pm to midnight).
The chat room was on twitch.tv, although they disappointedly decided not to stream anything.
A few guys from T10 were there: LVT10 Jube (although hidden behind a different GT), HeliosT10, Mechberg, T10Johniwanna, (and I think I am now forgetting one of them)
ManteoMax was even around checking out the chatroom, but I think he was at work (naughty naughty).
There was some racing on FH & FM4, but the main was on FM5, to my personal liking.
Having had taken part in previous events on FH & FM4, I found yesterday’s session very very frustrating.
Absolutely no way to access the rooms unless you rely completely on the match making system.
And it sucks, this system does not work correctly, unless the intended for it to work defies a lot of my own feet-on-the-ground logic.
A lot of us kept complaining the we were regularly ending up in empty rooms.
I spent 2 hours reading the chat to know in which category the devs were racing in, and log in and out of lobbies to try and find them.
I estimate the number of rooms I have tried at around 120 during the 2 hours (around 45s to access and quit a lobby, and I gave 15s at every try to read and type stuff if necessary).
I even think I am conservative on the number.
I got into room with devs only twice.
The first time, I was ramed into at the first corner of the Indianapolis track by a vehicle which had obviously very poor brakes (hhmmm), and to me delight (NOT) my X1 crashed as well.
The second time, it was unfortunately not in the kind of race I do enjoy much (drag).
Our nice devs did send to people gifts (I did personally get 150000 cr altogether).
Thanks very much to them for this.
Most of us were hoping to get the “race against a dev” badge during the session.
I have heard quite a few people asking why they did not get their badge, or how will they been delivered, or …
The disappointment once again from the lack of communication/reply from our T10 participants.
Were they given strict instructions on what subject to talk about or not, we’ll never know.
I for example did not get my badge neither.
All in All, would I attend another event on FM5 as the game currently is ?
Not really sure…
Would I like to get the badge ? (and would I have liked to have gotten it last night ?)
Of course I’d like to.
I figured it would be a waste of time trying to join, in the hopes that I might randomly find the right lobby with this awful hopper lobby system.
I think I would have had a hard time not pointing out all the bugs in the game which still need to be addressed as well anyway.
No badge for racing with devs (unfixed bug) and not allowed to talk about a lot of things (like unfixed bugs)?
Sad
