FORZA DEVS, READ THIS: We are sick and tired of the lack of effort from the devs put into this game

That’s something that should’ve never happened. Why did they do it?? I just wanna know. I wanna know why:
-The SF90 and F8 Tributo lack functional spoilers
-None of the cars have paddle-shifting animation despite it being in FM7 and FH4, both 5 and 4 years ago, respectively.
-Brake disc glow suddenly vanishing after braking hard (easiest to observe from NSX '17 and Divo)

The problem are still it missing a good gameplay.
Bad boring AI, 2min short races and ramming(online mp)

They keep adding cars but there are no place to play with it.

And often the cars they added are having problem. Like the SF90 is useless on both S1 and S2 online MP.
Or sometime they added a new meta car so now everyone are driving the same car. (and become new standard so now those older cars are even more useless)

Unlike other racing game when I can casually sunday-tracking with others in the middle.
Maybe I am not winning but I can still have fun with others.

Horizon races are too short and it dont have anything to stop people ramming. So using slower car in the back are often not fun at all.

I think they should add new parts to current old cars line up to fix balance.
and extend/update track list.

Core gameplay are not good so people stop playing early → Instead of update the core game play they spent all the time on those FOMO stuff. → short term effect

I found FH4 had less replay value/progression after you completed everything offline. I didn’t start doing some ranked races until later on in FH4, but that’s probably the only further progression/replay value it has on FH5. FH5 has more PR stunts to improve records, rivals, and the HOF leaderboard.

If the Crew had ForzaTech backing its physics & upgrade system, I would probably as well.
The content updates are meatier than here (nearly every one brings in new tracks or modes) and stay in the game after the season ends.

The devs actually fix stuff based on player feedback (two examples):

Last season introduced a new surface and some cars weren’t affected by it under certain circumstances. It was noted, fixed and the leaderboards got wiped.

They changed the handling of cars of a vehicle class. Didn’t turn out like it was intended. Roll-back, issue identified and the overhaul will launch mid-season.

PG introduced Drift gearbox, messed up electric cars by doing so. Instead of fixing the issue they created due to bad QA, they simply banned the two broken cars from online/Rivals. Players who liked the cars? Screw them!

At this point PG only lives on the backbone that is ForzaTech. Swap Crew and Horizon physics and I wouldn’t be playing Horizon.

I have no opinion on the new vehicle update for the moment, but what is annoying is that my basic gaming experience is no longer guaranteed, why do I care about vehicle updates content updates? All sorts of weird bugs and lag, officially recorded but not repaired for a long time, the design of the monthly update is also highly unreasonable, the 10th anniversary update make me every time enter the game need to navigate to the story mode navigation point, such a bug is surprisingly I have to wait for a whole month to be repaired, this month After the update, all kinds of crashes, lag, textures errors, no surprise we have to wait for the series 15 update to get fixed, and from July 2022 has been recorded “Hotwheels DLC can’t access” bug, so far my friends have used a variety of ways still can not enter the DLC, This makes the real fans really feel so annoyed, disappointed, angry, helpless, honestly, if the next few series, these problems are not improved, or get worse, I may not recommend this game to my friends in the future, I still love the game, but I can’t change anything.

Suggestion Hub? Open a support ticket? i tried, but Who knows? hopefully works.

The biggest issue I personally have is that it feels like the developers lost their passion.

Take the cars for example: From Series 2 to Series 13, 44 out of the 67 cars that got added for free were in Forza Horizon 4, and didn’t really get any updates apart from the new performance parts most cars have in Horizon 5, like the new tyre compounds and gearboxes. Most of them even still had the british licence plates, which makes it kind of hard not to think that they’ve just been copied and pasted from Horizon 4 into Horizon 5.

Then you have the multiplayer, where 10-12 player convoys still have a hard time playing together at all, as it still regularly happens that not everyone is able to see all the other people of the convoy because the game does not fully prioritize convoy members when it comes to deciding which player should see which other players. When the game was announced, multiplayer was the main focus of that presentation. This should not even have been an issue at the release of the game, let alone a whole year later. The worst part is that they think this has been fixed, when that clearly is not the case. It just feels like the developers don’t even care enough about the game to fix these major things, which is just sad.

This list could go on and on, but those two points especially make me feel like the developers lost their passion. In my honest opinion, there are too many things wrong with Horizon 5. The best thing they could do is that after Expansion 2 is released, acknowledge that Horizon 5 did not work out the way it was intended to, fix the bugs they can fix, and then fully focus on Horizon 6 to at least release that game in a state they can be proud of.

I’m only briefly checking community stuff of the Crew 2.
We are still playing it in a party where everyone shares bits of what they get to know.
The devs are revamping some older cars that were added before the general physics update.

But the problem with only one performance class per category will remain and is major drawback.
A VW Bully that has to be shoehorned into competition with a F12 or Huracan leads to the awful driving experience at max PI.
Top speeds are similar, handling to some extent and different cars feel more like different skins than cars.

“the Crew 3 is happening” is all I know about it.

I’m starting to see FH4 as a higher quality game than I used to. Sure, the UI is probably the worst of the series. But they actually fixed bugs. Most of the cars they added were interesting and new to Forza. You also weren’t seeing stuff like Australian license plates on some cars. The devs added new modes and content over the lifespan of the game to keep it interesting. And I played FH4 from 2018 to 2021 without getting bored. I can’t say the same for FH5 after the first year.

PGG seems to be done making quality games. I see it now. This series isn’t going down the drain. It already has.

I don’t think they will, in terms of the style of driving FH + TC have different aims so I don’t think you can really compare them from a FH perspective, both achieve what they’re going for very well in their separate regards and it’s just a case of which one people prefer.

NFS is the only driving model I’d question really, every one of their open world entries has been a lesser imitation of HP2010’s physics since that game released, why they went with that instead of keeping the physics from Underground 2 - Carbon I’ll never know.

And it is a shame because despite being far far inferior games I found Payback, Heat and even parts of NFS 2015 far easier to like than FH4/FH5 and got much more of a feeling that the devs were really trying with them.

I find your assessment here to be spot on. NFS suffers from the same problems however that Forza games suffer. Developers don’t listen to the players.

The major shortfall in payback for me was the cars tunes. That you had to have a separate car for each discipline of racing rather than being able to just have different tune setups.

Heat had better graphics than payback but the story line was so short you could finish the game in a single day.

Can you imagine how much more NFS could have been if they would have upgraded the graphics of payback to match heat. Made heat a DLC package for payback and blended the two stories together. Then for the next NFS, redesign the payback/heat package for PS5/XSX consoles and made a reworked NFS Underground 2 as a DLC package add on with a story blending back into the payback/heat story line. But that would nean listening to the player base who all say they thought NFS Underground 2 was one of the pinnacles of the series.

Just the same with Horizon, we all want a bigger map, more adventures, more story which will last longer than one week. Rework the FH4 map to FH5 capabilities and make it a DLC. I mean they’ve got 4 generations of game right in the palms of their hands. And it would probably take less programming time to convert the existing games up than to design and build a complete new game. We’d have one massive map in which to play. But alas, the developers don’t listen to us anyway so what’s the point?

I fully agree. PG has the resources but for some reason they are reluctant to do so. Why? I have no clue.

Are you sure about that? On every article on the site they say that they ‘listen to your feedback closely’. Are you saying that the devs never listen to feedback at all, which is untrue as 90% of the developers of games are engaged with the players? I mean by comparison EA and Take Two won’t do so because they’re companies that only care about money rather than pleasing your playerbase.
