I enjoy tuning cars in Forza 7. So, I purchased the 2017 Ford Focus RS. I was asked if I wanted to Homologate the car. I said no (I will do it myself). I get the car and it’s base spec is higher then the car class designated for it. So, I’m confused. I was under the impression when you buy a car it would automatically register for the appropriate car class and division. It seems that the car is registered for the division but not the car class (Designated Letter and 3 digit number). I understand what the car classes are:
X, P, S, R, A,C, B, D, E
I need to know the corresponding 3-digit number is for each class. As each class has more then one set of 3-digit numbers (as it appears to be tied into a Division as well). For Example::
S780, S771, S750,
A650, A625,
ETC.
Could I tune the car to register for another car class and use it’s save tune profile for single/multiplayer? No, I’m not asking if I can take a A650 to a X999. I’m saying a A625 to a A650. Same class but higher “rating” or PI if I’m making sense. Is there a chart explaining all the car classes and divisions?
I get the impression that classes are tied into divisions. If that car doesn’t fit that division then no matter if you match the PI including tire compound/width and power it won’t register as that car class.
My apology for the multi-part questions but as you can see some things aren’t clear for me.
Performance Class and Homologation are 2 different types of resctrictions in FM7. Cars with PI or HP ratings higher then the Homologations regulations will have a restrictor plate option to bring HP and PI down to the homologation regulations.
Each Performance Class goes up by 100 PI. The homologation regulations are more restrictive then just a base performance class often times having a limit in a mid Class range.
Yes. You can take a D-Class car and upgrade it for an A-Class lobby.
I’m sure there is somewhere, but the game does show the Division homologation restrictions for that car when your in the upgrade menus.
Nope. Like I said earlier, performance class and Division homologation are 2 different type of restrictions in the game
Ok, I’m understanding this a bit clear now. I can tune a A625 to a A650, for example. The problem is when I tried I get that triangle error telling me that the car is out of it’s class, or is it PI??
So, to me, it says that I cannot take that A625 car and play it in single player A650. This is what the game appears to be telling me.
The single player campaign races are all limited by the homologation regulations. So what ever the PI limit for that division is the limit for tuning for single player. so a division with a A625 PI limit means you must keep the car at or below A625 for that race series.
Free-play offers a ton of options for setting up whatever rules you want, and Multiplayer has some open class lobbies where the only limit is the Performance class (A700, S800 etc)
You cannot tune past the car class PI if you want to use that car in single player. However, in Free-Play or certain open class lobbies online you can.
