Are these just absent from the demo? Will they be in the full game?
Also the tire smoke are just little puffs of very obviously individual 2D sprites that clip into the car and into the ground.
I don’t recall it looking that bad in FM6 or FH3.
The tire smoke looks exactly like it does in H3 and FM6. If you look closely in FM6, you’ll see little low-res clouds clipping into the ground. This is visible in replays, usually at a distance.
I guess I’ll have to pay a little more attention to the smoke effects in FM7. As for the skid marks, didn’t notice. Will watch out and report.
Smoke does look sameish.
But can confirm after going and looking at some of my recorded drifting that there is no skid marks in the demo.

Tire smoke is looking good on Xbox One from what I’ve seen. On PC it doesn’t look right, even on Ultra settings.
Also no handbrake animations for all 3 vehicles on the demo.Feels weird, . the paddles animations on the Porsche are also strange
i’m surprised i haven’t noticed the lack of tire marks. they better be in the full game though!
Yes would be shame if there are no skid marks in full game.
I tried to search for some gameplay videos to check if there will be skid marks in the full game. You can clearly see them in this video: Forza Motorsport 7 Gameplay Walkthrough Part 2 - TROPHY TRUCKS (Full Game) Xbox One X 4K 60fps - YouTube . So maybe is just an issue with the demo.
Can clearly see the pre-made ones that are painted onto the track, that is. I still don’t see any coming from the actual cars.
Strange detail to leave out but maybe they sacrificed it for performance, seems to be quite a few minute details that have been made worse over time starting from FM5.
Try to pay attention, for example, at 2:02 or 2:47 in the video I linked, you can see a skid mark that comes from the car. They’re still present, although to me it seemed like they’re harder to leave on the track.
Maybe softer tyre compounds will leave darker skids?
