Forza 6 sales and future

Likely, yes, it would factor in hard disc copies and digital downloads, but, would not factor in people sharing one copy of the game, so likely 75% of that number would be a good guess.

As to your other point, I think you are a touch paranoid going on a censorship tangent.
The Mods often clear up the forums and consolidate, because people make 2, 3, 4, or 20 posts about the same thing, or near enough the same thing, without having searched or read though a few pages, to see if the topic has already been covered. I don’t really think its censorship or hiding controversial information. Anything that should not be discussed here is locked, per the TOS and so forth.

A better bet would be to stop starting threads for which there is already a relevant topic open.

…don’t ever talk about anything PS4 as an indicator of anything in XBOX’s future or Turn 10 or Forza.

That’s the media talking!

They only gat paid if you click or read and everyone loves a fight.

Forza 6 is the most successful version in the 10 years of the series at the same point of its lifespan.

…just keep driving!

We have right to compare, and thats what we do.
Media?Media did not paid they hard earned 120euros/dollars/pounds for UCL or cheaper versions.
Im affraid Forza 4 is most successful and best Forza in all its existence, seems to many blinkered peeps nowadays here who really have nothing to say.
Driving? When you cant hear your own engine sound and dont know when to change gears? Good luck with that

Xbox One did not sell well because: (1) the console industry as a whole is barreling toward obsolescence, and (2) it was too expensive.

Forza, of course, is unable stay the hand of fate…

But I doubt that matters. The RTD these guys are doing is more valuable to Microsoft than videogame sales.

Simply not true.

Okay. Here is less grating semantics:

Clinging to Antiquity, Market Titans are Pushing Console Industry into Extinction

That was indeed hyperbole, but I don’t think it was that far off. Even I, lifetime console owner, bought my 1st PC for gaming last year. Anecdotal, but if you hang around Twitch chats, the sentiment is there. If it keeps like this, people start to educate their options, looking at their wallets, and the PC game market knows that.

Because of comfort and convenience I don’t think they will ever become obsolete, but one day I think something out there will challenge that as well.

The console industry is evolving but not really toward obsolescence.

Unit sales are down year on year, but the value of the industry is growing. Games, subscriptions, DLC and third party stuff keep the industry at large quite valuable. We have games advertised on the sides of buses in Australia, which is not a massive market, but clearly there is big dollars in it, bigger than ever.

The other thing that is changing is the distribution of the market share. Sony had it for two generations, (PSOne and PSTwo), MS for the previous gen with the 360 and now Sony has taken it back.

I can’t imagine MS dissolving T10 while they have a presence in the console industry as they definitely want a solid rival to GT and Forza is that indeed. Other driving games may do other things well or better, but it’s really only FM that competes directly with GT.

If T10 does not perform, there could be a restructuring, but I imagine it and Forza will be around for a long time to come.

So they’re selling more stuff in a sinking market. That does not mean there is value or success; it means astute companies are in lifeboats right now, paddling away from the Titanic.

Dont worry, they are probably 1/3 done making FM7 already.

At least the population is high relative to other racers. PCARS is dismal now. I don’t consider Forza Motorsport a niche racer anymore.

I’m not going to bring up playability of FM6 as that’s a completely different argument. The only thing I will say about that is it’s clear there was an overall difficulty increase and many players aren’t happy with the changes judging by the number of threads that have existed addressing just that aspect.

My concern is the features the game offers. Many of the longtime Forza players will cite FM4 as being the best entry to the series based on the features the game provided us with. When many of those features came up missing in FM5 players were upset but as time went on we accepted the fact it was meant to be a launch title to showcase the capabilities and had faith based on T10 feedback they were listening to our concerns. Leading up to FM6 we were even lead to believe things like race customizations were coming back so naturally the others would return as well. What we got was a visually polished FM5 with a different interface and altered physics. The worse thing they did was not bring back the extremely detailed custom lobby rules that were present in FM4. That combined with things like the restrictive livery search, only able to view the thumbnail of the livery, and the extremely linear, restrictive and bland career mode shows they did not listen to the chief complaints of FM5. I didn’t expect a return of the auction house or storefronts but every othe FM4 feature should have been back. After almost two months of playing FM6 it is now apparent T10 has transformed from a company that balanced profit and customer satisfaction to creating a product with the intention on being a cash grab. I’m going to predict right now that when backwards rolls out, previous FMs won’t make the cut because being able to play a superior product in FM4 will only showcase the fact that FM6 is still several steps from being back equal to where the series was on the 360.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy FM6. It’s still the best option for racing this generation. However I will not be purchasing FM7 on launch as I will be waiting to see if they make it at least equal to 4.

This post sums up pretty much how I feel. I feel like a fool for pre-ordering Forza 6. I was caught up in the hype with the new weather conditions, night racing etc and it simply isn’t as enjoyable as Forza 4. Maybe if the AI wasn’t broken I might feel different, but I see no progress on this and the last patch which was supposed to improve this actually made it worse.

I also feel like a fool. It’s not what I expected it to be. And it was hyped enormously. “This is what we’ve been racing towards”! Is it really?

That’s why there’s so much negativity on the forums. We were bamboozled.

It can be fixed with some serious updates however, and if PCars could do it so can Turn10. But will they? Time will tell…

Totally agree with all of this. And Car Clubs with the shared garage etc just some of the reasons I prefer fm4 myself.

Alot of good points being made. My biggest problem is still the sacraficing features from previous games, things that made 4 as good as it was, so there can be features that don’t improve the game. 5 was a launch title, rush rush, get it out. Understood. I would imagine 6 was getting going at launch if not shortly after. Why take out or not put back the things that made 4 so special, especially after so much noise was made about how far 5 had fallen. Even the little stuff like not getting to view the entire livery before downloading. Just a thumbnail, like JacksBurton said. Why, other than just pushing a product out to make the cash, would Turn10 not take the opportunity to improve on what they did with 5. Yeah, we have rain, we have mod cards and wheel spins. Other than that, its 5 all over again. With the xbox one, all the gigs of data to download just to play, well over 50, i think 4 was around 14 gigs with all the dlc, why can’t the special things, the things that used to make me love this game make it back into the game. I still plan on playing, i still paint and tune and attempt to drive fast. And i still plan on putting in my 2 cents worth when i feel like things are amiss, or when things are great. Positive feedback is always good too! Haha I just miss what forza was. Maybe it is like somebody said earlier, that game developers make games to get stale after a short time so we run out and buy another. I hope thats not the case, think thats a dumb plan. Seems that they SHOULD make a game that is good enough, something that gets me excited to see what new cool things gets put in the next game. Now a days it seems more like waiting to see what was left out and what is there left out of the games i loved to play. Turn10 is the only ones COD has fallen the farthest, to me. I just dont want to see my beloved forza have the same fate. Just my opinion.

come on Guys…Forza has always been and it will continue to be overhyped…it is a game for the masses, just like GT. Forza 6 will keep on selling through the holiday season though…all the bundles and new games for Xbox One will push Foza 6 sales forward…

A box that will stream games from your pc elsewhere in the house to your lounge TV with a wifi controller will kill the games console. I think MS realises this, and hence the Xbox moving onto Windows 10…
