So certainly focus the build on Torque/acceleration versus top-end speed when you select the engine components. Then, ensure grip with proper tire compound and widths. Depending on weight status at that point, you can add (if needed) roll cage to also provide some handling.
I’ll take a look at a build, and maybe we can collaborate with jameskalli91 and others on the build ideas. Then, move on to the tune. By the way, many of these circuit races allow you to change tune (not the build) between races…so, you might want to check the rules for this as well.
Yeah i know! I’ve done a couple of laps with the setup and I like it. The car is much more stable than mine(setup) and I was able to do 1.23 in a few laps… (without changing the tune).
OK, here is the 1st-pass tune…(ran several laps and was at 1:22.8)…and, I am not a good driver, so you should be able to do well. Again, 1st-pass tune with default (for now) gears. We can tweak as you provide some feedback. Enjoy!
Tune:
28.5/28.5
Default Gears
-3.5/-3.0
+0.1/-0.1

22.12/30.51
480.4/400.1
4.9/4.8

100/137 (I will also be reducing rear downforce)

Can not see the image! What time do you end up with? And, Giulietta?
EDIT - I went straight to the url and saw the results. I did not know you had a choice of cars? The Giulietta does well. Yet, you are within 1.1 secs which with a little more practice you should be abel to do. . I did notice your assists with ABS and “Auto”…you could shave a little time with M/C. Not sure about ABS one way or the other. I run w/o it.
For the Manual w/clutch, not sure what buttons you’ve tried…yet, I use the combination of A & B buttons to upshift (A=clutch), and, the A & X to downshift and it works really well for me. I’d recommend keep practicing w/o ABS and M w/C.
As far as the cars, all 4 are pretty good cars. I might give a small leaning towards the Subaru Impreza WRX STI. I’ll build one up with the above rules (if they are all the same for all cars!!) and let you know. Heck, we can build all 3 and test. Can you change after the league starts (when is it)?
For the Focus, do you have any inputs for the car to feel better for your driving style? And, I almost forgot, we can still change gears around to see if we can gain some time. These 2 items could help you with the Focus!
Note: With using ABS, you might want to drop the brake pressure to about 105 (or so).
OK, so I built up all 3 cars which you mentioned were still available. And, as I thought the Subaru would be my favorite. It ends up with same HP & T as the Focus, and, 88 lbs more weight, yet, it did great (IMO). For my dismal driving …@ Nat Cat…1.21.468 (basically same lap time as Focus, yet, feels better). With some practice, this car should do very well.
I just shared it (GT = RelaxedPRKid), so, check it out and let me know what you think.
Yeah, it;s always good to know all these rules ahead of time. So, right now, with out revisiting the other cars…I’d stay with either the Focus or the Subaru. And, of course, add the roll cage. Then see what you can reduce as far as weight in other areas. Let me know if you’d like me to take another stab at the Subaru with the updated info. Thx!
The Subaru stats with reinforcement would be: 350hp/377lb-ft, 2883lbs(56%), 5.7L…and, the PI of B598. Or @ B600 with 2903lbs (56%). It’s basically the AWD that adds the weight.
For the Focus, you can add the Sport Flywheel, and, change the rims to 57 Optimise. You will end at B600, with 2808lbs (57%) - w/Race Roll Cage.
