Setup:
Xbox One X
Logitech G29 (via DriveHub)
I have been able to get a good setup in all other Forza titles, particularly the more recent FM7, FH3 and FH4. I just started playing around in FH5 and the force feedback feels muted/missing. I have tried others setups, played around will all settings, etc. I am beginning to suspect that something in this latest title nuked drivehub support or something. I do get some force feedback feel but it is minimal even with everything cranked to the max.
Like I said everything works beautifully in FM7 and FH4 and I have in the same session entered those games and confirmed they still play as expected. As it stands presently FH5 is effectively unplayable however.
Has anyone had similar issues? Devs do you know if changes in FH5 (the fancy new high frequency road feel effects) make drivehub incompatible?
PS - Why did you guys feel the need to rename a bunch of the wheel settings and change the scales, yet again, why not have consistent setup across games most of the settings remain from one to the next, why rename them, why re-scale them? Particularly wheel sensitivity in place of steering angle, WTF?
So I think the answer was either a) I was experiencing the known issue of force feedback dropping out when pausing a session, or b) the issue was hardware.
I updated the wheel firmware and drivehub firmware (neither where particularly old) to the latest versions and plugged everything back in (without powering off the xbox or restarting the game) and it feels much better now.
If you are having similar issues with such a setup try these steps and hopefully your issues also resolve. Best of luck.
PS - My complaints regarding renaming and reranging of force feedback settings remains valid.
Im having the same issue.
Im on PC and have a Thrustmaster TX wheel. I’ve already updated the drivers like everyone says but it only got marginally better. I also maxed out the gain on the Thrustmaster app itself, but Im still getting only marginal Force Feedback.
Any more suggestions?
