So, here is to hoping that Forza 7 improves the strength of force feedback on wheels (especially for tire slip) as well as better low-freq sounds. It’s “ok” in FM6 but could be better in comparison to other games. I really notice it now that I built a “rumble” platform. If you have a racing wheel and seat you really need to build one of these. Adds sooo much to the game. I can feel the rumble strips and other parts of road as well as car vibration due to engine, shifting, etc… Makes the game come alive and is much more immersive experience.
I use a plywood platform to which I attached two Dayton Audio BST-1 transducers to the underside and drive them with the Dayton Audio SA-100 amp which is plenty for a single rig. It’s awesome, highly recommended. Entire driving rig sits on top of this and I have rubber feet on the platform to isolate it a bit from the basement concrete floor.

As for the low frequency sound it’s ok in Forza but not brilliant. I have an Arcam sourround sound system with 5 quadrail speakers, 2 Dynaudio speakers and a 1 foot by 1 foot subwoofer. To upgrade the setup I have would cost 15,000 pounds or 19,000 dollars. If I turn the volume up to 75 DB and go into ForzaVista and rev some cars, you can get a lot of low frequency sound around idle and a lot of low resonance base and treble, depending on the Car. It sounds really good. Opening doors and closing them sounds great as well but here’s the problem.

I have to turn the volume to around 75 DB to really start to hear this which is insanely loud, far too loud to actually do a race in.

The frequency being sent to the subwoofer isn’t up to standard. What I mean by this is my surround sound systems subwoofer calculates everything on what the audio is telling it to do, if the game is sauing there’s no base or treble the subwoofer doesn’t do anything. Going over kerbs, hitting cars and walls, going into gravel and grass or even revving the car, the game doesn’t like to simulate low resonance base or frequency through it’s sound system unfortunately.
Now Forza 7 May be improved. They are now using Dolby Atmos I believe which could improve the sound department vastly if done correctly. They’ve also added trasmission and driveline noise so it looks like they are trying to improve the sound department quite heftily. As for the shake factor of a kerb my subwoofer should emmit, dont think it its my surround sound that’s the problem as I’ll give a comparison. I played Def Kev Invisible (just saying not my kind of music lol) on my surround sound and through my subwoofer at 75 decibels. I had a half-inch think porcelain lamp on my subwoofer. It exploded. Literally exploded with the base. Shattered to pieces.
As for the FFB for wheels I’m not going to get into it here as there’s a bother thread dedicated to that but all I’m going to say is it needs to improve vastly from FM6 and FH3.
