FM7 Wheel Offset.

Maybe I’ve already missed this one, but why are some wheels no longer as deep dish as they used to be. Makes them look terrible and annoyed me especially as I used the deeper wheels on a lot of my cars and now they’re nowhere near as deep.

Cheers.

Specifically these Speedline F1s.

They’re definitely not as deep. What happened?

then the deepest wheel in the game gets even deeper with the latest patch… then screwed up it’s textures… It’s literally like they’re F-in’ with us now.

Those Speedlines in particular were Glitching on a lot of cars really badly, so I think that was the quickest solution. Previously on some cars where the tire depth was low, the brakes and axle end would be sticking out the front of the rims. Looked super odd.

I wish they were still as deep, but that’s my guess anyway as to why they changed them.

If T10 could add a real Offset/Track Width adjustment, that would be the best solution. It feels long overdue at this point.

Completely agree. I think it was the best fix for now but I really think if they add an offset option it would fix a lot of prombles. Could licensing be holding them back in that department?

I dunno how touchy rim manufacturers would be about it, but given that track width adjustment has been an option in other racing games (NFS & NFS Payback especially) that feature some of the same rim manufacturers, I kind of doubt it… ie. I mean can you imagine Fifteen52 or ADV1, whose entire existence is part of, for lack of a less cheesy term ‘stance-culture’, being against that?

I say this as a big fan of the Forza series, but compared to Playground and the Horizon series, Turn10 doesn’t exactly seem to be breaking a sweat to offer things we haven’t seen before. Aside from the 4K enhancements and some things in that vein, Forza 7 really does feel like Forza 6.5 to me, especially in terms of customization.

The bodykits are a cool addition (in some cases), but a lot of those make the absence of a track width adjustment feel all the more glaring. Homologation makes it even more mess because if your tire width is locked at the narrow end of the spectrum, when you put a bodykit on, it just looks ridiculous (Looking at you, 240Z!)

At the end of of the day, it’s something people have been asking for years and years, but I’d bet money that it will be Playground who introduce it as a feature in Horizon4, not Turn10.

The Homologation System is great for racing compared to the old PI system but class racing should make a return along side homologated races which would make the older fans happy and solve the tire width being limited to something like 245’s on a widebody 240sx.

As for the licensing I’m pretty fifty fifty on it. Need for Speed has a far lower car roster than Forza Motorsport which could be down to some manufacturers not liking their cars being customized perhaps like Toyota. Saying that very tricky manufacturers such have Ferrari have loosened up quite a bit so maybe not.

The only other thing that could be holding them back would be the physics engine. Wheel offset would change the characteristics of the car, if they can’t simulate that perhaps that is why they are holding back.

That’s a good point, and could definitely be the case. That said, Offset/Track Width is one area where I’d happily lose some of the realism just for the sake of aesthetics, personally. The ability to push the wheels out just an inch or so would make so many cars look super mean and much more ‘Race Car’ even if they just ignored any physics changes to make it happen.

Or, maybe, they could design the rims to account for tire widths? Skinny tires get less dish and offset, wider tires get more. Problem solved.

Also, jesus what have they done to the beadlocks…

I hope if it was just a quick fix for now that they get around to reverting them back to how they where. They just don’t look half as good and it drove me crazy in previous Forza games because they didnt have a very big collection of deep dish wheels as it was.

I was wondering if it just the recent cars I was putting them on… I know the deep dish rims were pushing the brakes inward but that didn’t bother me! Love the four or five new deep rims that we got. It screams old school to me!
