FM5 Cars and DLC List

This thread lists all the cars in Forza 5 and the DLC packs released after launch. Update: DLC reached End of Life status on September 30, 2017. “That means that the game and its associated DLC are no longer available for purchase. Players who own Forza Motorsport 5 before that date are still able to download and play the game and its associated content as normal.”^

The Games menu links to hi-res pictures of the cars and manufacturer overviews: link
The Store link on the top menu bar provides links to add-on DLC announcements: link
See “Contests and gift Index for FM5” for a list of cars gifted to players and VIPs: link

DLC Notes and Troubleshooting

  • 3/28/14 update: Pack owners can buy one of each DLC model for free from Buy Cars, to buy again will cost credits or tokens. This free option may not be available after a gamesave reset.
  • If you do receive a gift car due to purchasing a DLC pack, or from Forza Rewards, or as a T10 gift, it must be downloaded from your Message Center by pressing A on the Gift message. See the Contest and gift Index for FM5 thread for details on cars gifted to players from Turn 10.
  • Most DLC installation problems can be solved by a hard reboot - unplug the console and restart. You may need to reinstall the game to prompt reinstalling content updates. If a content update is not installing, try toggling your console Power Setting to Instant-On and enable Autodownload, then restart and wait (sometimes a half hour or more) for the update to finish 100%.
  • The VIP pack add-on from the Store does not include any tokens; tokens were only included with the Limited Edition content. The VIP accelerated bonus is 70,000 credits per Driver Level; there is no XP bonus. VIP cars are accessible for all accounts on a console, but VIP benefits only apply to the purchaser/installer account. See the VIP overview for notes about obtaining VIP benefits for multiple accounts on the same console.

I can’t figure out how to buy a car, namely the 2013 Ferrari that has a cost of 850,000 CR and like 175 TK. I have 990,000 CR and 75 TK. It looks to me that I have plenty of CR but when I go to buy the Ferrari it ask me to buy a car pack and other cars it will let me purchase. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to be able to buy this car when I have more then enough CR? Is it one or the other CR vs TK or both to buy?

Thanks!!!

That’s the La Ferrari your talking about my friend, you have to buy the DLC to be able to buy it in game i’m afraid.

You can see the number of cars in the game and listed below (currently 321* identified models as of August, plus a null car) by going to Multiplayer, creating a custom lobby, Pressing A to change the Options, and bumper right to Restrictions. The number of cars filtered by the restrictions you’ve selected is indicated in the upper right of the screen. *There is one car currently unavailable to any player: the Dodge Xbox One Charger. We’ll just have to wait for details on that one from T10.

3/28/14 update: Pack owners can buy one of each DLC model for free from Buy Cars, to buy again will cost credits or tokens. All cars are available for free rental use in Free Play and Multiplayer modes.

Cars list by Body Family - - updated for each DLC release

Each car model in Forza 5 has been assigned a specific Body Family. These aren’t listed in the My Cars or Buy Cars menu, but can be determined by setting a custom Multiplayer lobby restriction and then viewing the Select Car/Buy Cars options. Career League racing series are restricted to cars with the matching Body Family of its title. You’ll see that there are some Body Family names in the Multiplayer restrictions options list that currently have no associated cars in the game.

Following is the full car list grouped by Body Family. This list will be updated as DLC cars are added. The following cars have no assigned Body Family so they can only be used in Career in the Class Competition League:
Audi #4 IMSA
Audi Auto Union
Brabham BT24
Chapparal #66
Ferrari 312P
Ferrari 375
Ford Coyote
Ford Formula Ford
Infiniti #77
Infiniti Q50 EA
Maserati 8CTF
Mazda #7 Andretti
Mazda MX-5 Cup
Renault Spark Formula E

Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition
This version may not be available at retail after launch, and there are no announced plans to make the Limited Edition cars available for separate purchase. The cover of the retail package for this version features the Audi RS 7 Sportback and is marked “Limited Edition”. The package includes a Steelbook case and a decal sheet with “Forza Motorsport 5”, “Xbox One”, and Audi window decals. The disc in the Limited Edition package is the same as a standard disc, and Bonus Content is included as a DLC code on an insert card:

The cover of the retail package for this version features the McLaren P1 and is marked “Day One 2013.” The disc in the Day One package is the same as a standard disc, provides 100 tokens with game installation. The following digital content was included as a DLC code on an insert card:

Forza Motorsport 5 retail / digital download edition
The cover of the retail package for this version features the McLaren P1. Game installation provides 100 tokens to start. Users who purchased the digital version between Nov. 22 and Dec. 6, 2013 were entitled to the Day One Car Pack code, which was delivered by email on Jan. 24, 2014.

NOTES
VIP can be purchased as an add-on; the LE and Day One cars are not available as add-ons.
VIP cars are accessible to all accounts on a console but VIP benefits only apply to the account that purchased the pack.
The Token Accelerator Pack containing 1,250 only comes with the Limited Edition - purchasing the VIP online does not provide tokens.
Included DLC packs only add the cars to the Buy Cars and Rent rosters; credits or tokens are required to buy cars for use in Career events.

Add-ons such as Tokens, VIP, Car Pass, and regular monthly car packs can be purchased via the Xbox One dashboard Store. Players will also be provided with prompts within the game to purchase Tokens if they don’t have enough credits to buy a car, and prompts to purchase VIP or other car packs if attempting to buy a car in a DLC pack that has not been installed. Single DLC cars such as the special livery Audi R8, McLaren MP4-12C, and Mountain Dew Camaro are not available for purchase; these codes were provided to players elsewhere.

Limited Edition Car Pack

The Limited Edition Car Pack was included with the FM5 Limited Edition package only. “Currently we have no announcement regarding a digital version of the Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition.” (8-16-13 WIR) The pack includes 5 car models that “have been customized with unique Xbox One liveries and feature custom tunes designed by the developers at Turn 10 to improve performance above their stock counterparts.” The stock versions of these cars are included in the Buy Cars roster with standard game installation.

3/28/14 update: Pack owners can buy one of each DLC model for free from Buy Cars, to buy again will cost credits or tokens. All DLC cars are available for free rental use in Free Play and Multiplayer modes.

  • 2013 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 with livery and upgrades
  • 2013 McLaren P1 with livery and upgrades
  • 2013 SRT Viper GTS with livery and upgrades

The installed upgrade parts - including aero - on these cars cannot be removed. The liveries are part of the car, so you can paint over them and if you wish to restore the original livery, simply choose it from Manufacturer Colors in the Paint Shop.

Free gift car for LE owners
In the 11-27-13 Week In Review, Turn 10 announced that owners who had installed the Bonus Content DLC included in the Limited Edition package would be able to select one free car from the non-DLC roster via a special redemption link. This free car can only be redeemed once, and will not be replaced if lost, so choose wisely. The longterm availability of this link for late LE buyers is unknown.

Day One Car Pack

Day One cars

The Day One Car Pack was included with pre-orders of the game before launch day or with digital purchases within the week after launch day. On January 24, 2014, launch owners of the digital version received the following email: "“If you purchased the Forza Motorsport 5 Digital Edition from the Xbox Store between November 22, 2013 and December 6, 2013, you were supposed to receive the “Forza Motorsport 5 Day One Car Pack” as communicated and intended. There was an oversight in our technical execution, so now we are making it right. Here’s your code for your free exclusive Forza Motorsport 5 Car Pack that we sent* to your account on Xbox Live.” See this discussion thread for more info.

3/28/14 update: Pack owners can buy one of each DLC model for free from Buy Cars, to buy again will cost credits or tokens. All DLC cars are available for free rental use in Free Play and Multiplayer modes.

3/28/14 free DLC cars update: Pack owners can buy one of each DLC model for free from Buy Cars; buying additional models will cost credits or tokens. All DLC cars are available for free rental use in Free Play and Multiplayer modes.

Troubleshooting VIP benefits for multiple accounts on the same console

  • Make sure that the account to receive VIP benefits is the one signed in when the purchase is made; all accounts on a console that has the VIP pack installed will see the VIP cars in the Buy Cars roster, but only the purchaser will receive VIP Benefits.
  • A second account on a console may not see a way to purchase VIP Benefits for themselves. Follow these steps for a solution: 1) Uninstall the VIP pack from the owner account (you’ll be able to install it back again later for free). 2) Log into the other account and change the My Home Xbox setting to “This is not my home Xbox” 3) Purchase VIP with the second account. 4) Change the second account’s settings back to Home. 5) Log in to the first account, go to My Games and the Add-Ons for FM5, and install the VIP pack for free. (Thanks to user LaughingScorpio for this solution!)
  • If you installed the VIP DLC and still do not have the benefits or the cars in the Buy Cars and Rent cars roster, first go to the Xbox One dashboard, press the controller pause button over the game and select Show Add-ons (or go there via the Store on the dashboard) and select Install if it does not show Installed. If you still have issues, send an email to forzafb@microsoft.com with your details.

Car Pass

News article: Car Pass announcement
News article: Car Pass extended through July

The Car Pass is a group discount on selected car packs which can be purchased separately from the in game Marketplace, or dashboard Store in the Forza 5 Add-Ons section. The Pass was first announced to include the first six monthly DLC car packs but has since been extended to cover the eight monthly car packs plus three booster packs (Road America, Long Beach, and Nurburgring, each containing 5 cars). For $49.99, Car Pass owners have access to 95 cars (eight monthly packs containing 10 cars each plus the 15 Booster pack cars). These packs can otherwise be purchased separately for $9.99 each ($4.99 for each Booster pack). The last pack free for Car Pass owners is the July Hot Wheels Car Pack. The Car Pass can be purchased at any time to receive the discount on the included packs.

(6/5/14 update): Forza 5 and the Car Pass were discounted for Xbox Live Gold members via the Deals With Gold program on June 5. The Car Pass cost $33.49 after the discount, which was effective until June 9.

Car Pass owners do not need to download the included packs; content updates make the cars available from the Buy Cars list, where they are available free once to add to your My Cars list.

The Car Pass does not include the cars in the Day One Car Pack, Limited Edition Car Pack, VIP Car Pack, or any future car packs after July. There are no exclusive car models associated with the Car Pass that cannot be purchased in another DLC pack (such as the Season Pass Bonus Cars in Forza Horizon).

Free cars for Car Pass owners:
The first four monthly car packs provide a gift car sent to your Message Center, where you must press A on the Gift messages in order to add them to your My Cars collection. As of 3/28/14, pack owners can buy one of each DLC model for free from Buy Cars; buying the same model after that will cost credits or tokens. All DLC cars are available for free rental use in Free Play and Multiplayer modes.

  • LaFerrari: In the 11-27-13 Week In Review, Turn 10 announced that players who purchase the car pack or the Car Pass will receive the 2013 Ferrari LaFerrari as a free gift.
  • Maserati Tipo: Per the January IGN Car Pack announcement, all players who purchase the car pack or the Car Pass will receive the 1961 Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage as a free gift.
  • Alfa 33 Stradale: Per the February Smoking Tire Car Pack announcement, all players who purchase the car pack or the Car Pass will receive the 1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale as a free gift.
  • Toyota GT-ONE: Per the March Alpinestars Car Pack announcement, all players who purchase the car pack or the Car Pass will receive the 1999 Toyota #3 GT-ONE TS020 as a free gift.

LaFerrari Car Pack Announcement

The LaFerrari Car Pack is the first monthly car pack available to add-on to any edition of the game. The pack includes 10 cars. The pack price is $10. The LaFerrari is not available for individual purchase; the others can be purchased for $2.99 each. The LaFerrari Car Pack is one of the six packs included in the Car Pass, which is priced at a discount compared to buying each $10 pack individually.

Per the 11-27-13 Week In Review, players who purchase the LaFerrari Car Pack (or the Car Pass) will receive the 2013 Ferrari LaFerrari as a free gift. It is unknown how long this offer is valid. You must download the car from your Message Center by pressing A on the Gift message in order to add it to your My Cars collection. 3/28/14 update: Pack owners can buy one of each DLC model for free from Buy Cars, to buy again will cost credits or tokens. Audi R8 DLC

On November 2, 2013, U.S. residents who had their Xbox email preferences set to allow marketing received an email DLC code for a 2010 Audi Forza Motorsport R8 5.2 FSI quattro. It is unknown if this DLC car will be available to other players, but currently it cannot be purchased as an add-on. This car comes with a design created by Turn 10 and upgrades installed.

Other than the design and upgrades, this is a duplicate car model to the Audi R8 available in the basic game installation. It is priced the same as the regular 2010 Audi R8 (130,000 credits or 217 credits) but in upgraded form has a PI of A700. The installed upgrade parts - including aero - on this car cannot be removed, and there is no engine swap option. The livery is part of the car, so you can paint over it and if you wish to restore the original livery, simply choose it from Manufacturer Colors in the Paint Shop.

3/28/14 update: Pack owners can buy one of each DLC model for free from Buy Cars, to buy again will cost credits or tokens. All DLC cars are available for free rental use in Free Play and Multiplayer modes.

Chevy Camaro DLC

On November 7, 2013, Mt. Dew’s promotional website every2minutes.com made this DLC car available as a Marketplace item, costing 1000 program points, limited to 100,000 downloads. It is unknown if this DLC car will be available to other players, but currently it cannot be purchased as an add-on. The 2012 Chevrolet Mt Dew #88 Camaro ZL1 has a livery based on Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s real race car.

Other than the design, this is a duplicate car model to the 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 available in the basic game installation. It is priced the same as the regular at the same PI. Aspiration can be converted to twin-turbo and an 825hp engine swap is available.

McLaren MP4-12C DLC car

McLaren MP4-12C DLC car

On November 12, 2013, Pizza Hut UK began a promotion allowing UK residents to enter online for a DLC token to a McLaren MP4-12C. The contest rules stated that the DLC is limited to 100,000 codes. On November 14, 2013, Xbox sent an email with a DLC code for the car to an unknown number of recipients. It is unknown if this DLC car will be available to other players, but currently it cannot be purchased as an add-on. This car comes with a design created by Turn 10 and upgrades installed.

Other than the design and upgrades, this is a duplicate car model to the McLaren MP4-12C available in the basic game installation. It is priced the same as the regular 2011 McLaren MP4-12C (240,000 credits or 240 credits) but is upgraded to a PI of A700.

Content Update DLC history
Following is a chronological list of game content updates. These are pushed to consoles when the game is started and are not available to download via the Store like DLC packs.

Installation Update
First installation of the game requires a content update of 6GB. There is no changelog information for this DLC.

Drag and Tag Update - December 19, 2013
This update adds game modes, makes some economy changes, and addresses a controller issue. Drag racing and Tag game modes were added to Rivals, Free Play, and Multiplayer hoppers (see Events and restrictions thread), opening up the Airfield drag strip. In the game economy, Driver Level bonuses were doubled (to 35,000 standard and 70,000 for VIP), and cars costing over 1,000,000 credits at launch were significantly reduced in price. The update also included upgrades for players using force feedback wheels such as the Thrustmaster. See this overview of the update contents.

January IGN Car Pack update - January 7, 2014
On the same day that the IGN Car Pack was released, an update of a few hundred MB was released to allow the cars to be visible in the Buy Cars roster. Twitter announcement.

IGN and DLC content update - January 15, 2014
This update fixes some issues with the IGN pack cars, as well as makes all DLC cars available to rent in Free Play and Multiplayer, and adds engine swaps to many cars from the LaFerrari and IGN packs. Changelog in the 1-17-14 WIR.

Multiplayer content update - February 4, 2014
This update adds Save Replay ability to multiplayer races, adds aero repair to the Pit lane, fixes the Driver Level number display in multiplayer lobbies, fixes Drag race light trees, alters the Time to Vote, and addresses some Party issues. This update also makes the February Smoking Tire Car Pack and Honda Legends cars visible in the Buy and Rent cars lists. Changelog in the 1-31-14 WIR. See the discussion thread. 680MB.

Road America content update - February 18, 2014
This update adds the Road America environment to the game for free. Road America includes five tracks: Full, Alt, East, West, and West Alt. The update inserted the Full track as a circuit event into each of the 41 Career League series, added each of the five tracks to the Rivals Time Attack section (and Free Play and Multiplayer) for each class, and made the Road America Booster Pack cars accessible in the car roster. See announcement for details. 3GB.

Alpinestars content update - March 4, 2014
This update makes the Alpinestars cars visible in game. It also provides a fix to the Road America issue with Career progression. Also, engine swap configuration info is now displayed in the upper left corner of the upgrade screen. See this discussion thread. Users are reporting varying update sizes from 47MB to over 600MB (which may be cumulative updates).

Xbox System Update - March 5-7, 2014
Although this update for the Xbox One does not affect FM5 content directly, it changes the way multiplayer parties and chat work. In Forza 5, this new functionality can result in some confusion, where players who are in your party are not invited into your game automatically, because those friends are assumed to be “chat only” party members. See the 3-7-13 WIR for instructions for setting up parties and chat for FM5 multiplayer lobbies.

Top Gear and Buy Cars content update - March 28, 2014
This update makes the Top Gear cars visible in the game, fixes some stuck Titles, corrects the ‘Owned’ icon in Buy Cars, makes all cars available in the Rent list, and makes each DLC car free to own the first time you select it in the Buy Cars list. This change affects all past and future DLC. See the discussion thread and open letter from Dan Greenawalt. 433MB.

Long Beach expansion content update - April 10, 2014
This update makes the Long Beach Booster Pack cars visible and adds the 3 Long Beach tracks to the game, including most (but not all) League series. Ten new related Achievements were added with matching Titles and Badges. Released at 10am Pacific time but T10 was aware some users didn’t see the update, and needed to toggle the console Instant-On with Autoupdate and restart to prompt the update. See this discussion if you have installation issues.

Meguiar’s and tuning file fix content update - May 6, 2014
This update makes the May Meguiar’s Car Pack cars visible and fixes shared tuning files: “downloaded tuning files were not applying front suspension settings to cars when racing. … Players will need to re-download previous tunes in order to for this change to take effect.” See announcement thread. 433MB.

Bondurant content update - May 30, 2014
This update makes the June Bondurant Car Pack cars visible, adds Badges and Titles for Bentley and Fiat, fixes opponent upgrades in Career Mode, and adds support for H-pattern shifter peripherals. Changelog in the 5-30-14 Week in Review. 391MB.

Nurburgring expansion content update - June 9, 2014
This update adds 3 Nurburgring layouts to the game. The layouts are integrated into Career, and added to Rivals Spec and Track Day events. The update also makes the Nurburgring Booster Pack cars visible and adds an Affinity Badge and Title for Brabham. 10 new Titles for Nuburgring-based Achievements worth 200 GS were added at the same time. See the announcement article. 2.8GB.

Hot Wheels content update - July 1, 2014
This update makes the July Hot Wheels Car Pack cars visible, and includes improvements to Drivatar traffic behavior. See the Content Update Notes thread. 856MB.

August content update - August 12, 2014
This update adds six new cars to the game roster for free, adds a badge and title for Rolls-Royce Affinity, and includes improvements for Thrustmaster and MadCatz wheels. See the announcement article. 346MB.

Tokens

Tokens are a means of buying cars or upgrades for your car in lieu of using credits. This can be useful if you do not have enough credits to buy an expensive car. Tokens can also be used to purchase temporary XP Accelerator boosts, which double your XP gained from races during a time limit. In general, a token is equal to 600 credits, so something that would cost 60,000 credits would cost 100 tokens. The game does not require you to purchase and/or use Tokens, and there are plenty of opportunities to earn credits for the things you want to buy.

All players start the game installation with 100 tokens. Owners of the Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition received an extra Token Pack of 1,250 tokens. (If you did not receive the tokens after using the DLC code, email your details to forzafb@microsoft.com). Not that if you reset your profile, you will not receive a reinstall of these tokens - they are only made available to your profile once. If you are playing and notice your token count has dropped to zero, this is a known issue; select something to purchase with tokens (but don’t confirm) and they should reappear, or try a hard reboot of the console to fix the issue.

Token packs can be purchased from the console’s Store Add-ons for Forza 5 at an increasing discount for larger token packs.
100 Tokens pack $0.99 (1 token per cent)
325 Tokens pack $2.99
575 Tokens pack $4.99
1250 Tokens pack $9.99
2700 Tokens pack $19.99
8000 Tokens pack $49.99
20000 Tokens pack $99.99 (2 tokens per cent)

XP Boost Accelerator

XP is awarded by the game for distance driven, and used for increasing your Driver Level, which pays out credits each time you level up. VIPs receive double the credit bonus for leveling up but do not receive any XP bonus factor.

All players can purchase an XP Boost to earn twice the normal XP from every race while the Boost is active. Note that once the timer starts, it continues to count down regardless of whether you are racing or paused or in other game menus, so it is advantageous to purchase a boost for longer race events.

XP Boosts can only be purchased with Tokens (you’ll be prompted to purchase more Tokens if you attempt to buy a Boost with insufficient tokens). In the Pre-Race menu of any race, press Y to bring up the Boost purchase window and select one of the options:

30 Minute Boost: 75 Tokens
60 Minute Boost: 120 Tokens
2 Hour Boost: 200 Tokens
