I see you have received about the same number of replies as if you had written to Turn 10…
I’m also curious about this. We in the FM3 “ghetto” have been waiting for the demise of this game so long that each time a server is down for more than a few minutes, we imagine we hear that “doom bell” sound effect so beloved of the PA wags at NFL stadiums. Online racing is still possible.
I do have a serious question tho: I ran a personal best lap on Fujimi Kaido and am wondering if the time is being saved in the cloud while the leaderboards server is unavailable.
Thanks for the info. After I read your reply I remembered that I was in a race (on Forza 4) where I was sure that I had a “personal best” time but it didn’t show up on the leaderboard. One of the guys with whom I had raced said “Remember that little network hiccup that occurred on our last lap? It wasn’t enough for anyone to be kicked from the lobby, the lag was minimal, but it was enough that none of us got a certified lap on the record.”
That incident had slipped my mind until I read your post here. It’s a shame because that race was one of several in the last two days where I did really well. I remembered to save a replay for one of them. The Kaido run stings because it’s so hard to get a clean lap, at least for me.
[English, google traductor] I am very angry. No server in the game, no auction house and the online mode is restricted to fast race (Only quick race mode and no more, no class auto races, etc). And nobody says anything about it. I have written three times @ForzaMotorsport on twitter and no answer. No warning, nothing.
I did a chat with XBOX LIVE support on Thursday. I was told there was no previous report of server issues with Forza at this time. The very nice person on the line said she would get back to me via email when she got feedback on this report (I am not posting her name, since I don’t know the etiquette regarding this).
So far, nothing.
Isn’t it quite odd that more than a few gamers have encountered this problem without reporting a “server unavailable” to T10 or XBOX LIVE? Besides reading several posts saying the issue is affecting others on this board, I have been told by at least 5 or 6 players via XBOX messages that they are experiencing the same problem. Friends are doing what I’m doing: logging on once or twice every day, checking and getting the same message. Many of my friends enjoy painting, a vital part of which is sharing your creations through the Auction House and your storefront. Yet we can’t even send gifts to each other, nor post photos and replays.
Maybe those in authority think nobody plays Three anymore. Or maybe they just wish everyone would continue buying games and paying for Gold subscriptions while playing a crippled game.
This has gone on for nearly a month, yet the XBOX website continues to report full functionality of all servers. Verrrrrrry strange…
Finally got some official word. That’s all it takes for me to be patient- tell me that the problem is recognized and is being worked on. According to XBox Live support, engineering has been aware of the server issue, has been working on a fix for at least a week, and will issue an update once the server is restored to stability. Even though my understanding of that last phrase is sketchy at best, I’m satisfied with knowing they haven’t decided to let Forza 3 fade away, but are continuing to support it.
Thanks. But the server still does not work . I hope that soon this problem is solved. For now, I insist on writing to @forzamotorsport twitter reporting the problem.
Greetings from Chile.
Not once, but at least three times, I have been told that the server issue is temporary and will be fixed. I asked point-blank if a decision has been made to eliminate the Auction House, the leaderboards, and gifting.
“No, our engineering department are working on this, and everything will be restored.”
“This is certainly not the gaming experience we want you to have.”
“I will personally follow up on this and get back to you via email.”
“Rest assured, I am owning this problem.”
And so on. Does it sound like they gave me accurate information?
