FM.net versus Google chrome

I constantly experience issues with this website and forum when using Google chrome. Sometimes the forum does not want to load or post messages. Often the links at the top of the bar don’t want to work like links. Often I get “page does not exist” or “site offline” errors. And rarely, if ever, does the rewards page have a function other than to spin a giant loading symbol.

These issues are only on Google chrome. I can be experiencing any one of them and if I then open the page in Internet Explorer or Firefox (now that I’ve gone an downloaded it just to view this site) there seems to be no issues?

Has anyone else experienced this? Why is fm.net so anti-chrome? Is there any reasonable way to fix this OTHER THAN using a different browser?

It’s definitely a Chrome issue. I know on the news page, that when you scroll down, more articles don’t load in Chrome. But the only thing to do is just use a different browser.

I’ve been seeing that issue for a long time, with plenty of problems yesterday. Sometimes I get the impression it could be traffic (yesterday must have spiked for the FM6 news) or XBL sign in issues (I frequently have to log in when the site is available again), but definitely, you’re not alone.

It’s not just Chrome, too, I got a “Connection was reset” message on Firefox just now. Seems to be slow today.

i’ve had a time trying to consistently use chrome on here lately…
firefox i get a error sometimes
need to try IE/Edge more to see what happens but chrome is definitely the worst lately here. had to reload a few just to see this message lol

I’m waiting on MS to add extensions to Edge before trying it out. Right now I think it could be a good browser, but the lack of extensions makes it a “no” for me.

So here’s a new revelation. Whenever I use Chrome on my laptop, it seems to work great on most all sites, including FM.net. So I went into the settings to see if there was anything different and all I noticed is that I use Chrome on my laptop my default zoom is 100%, whereas mmy default zoom on my desktop is 110%. So I changed the default zoom on my desktop back to 100% even though it’s really small and the news page on FM.net worked flawlessly as did Twitter when I hit the home button on Twitter. I think I’ll send some feedback to Google to let them know there is something in the zoom code that throws everything off.

Interesting. I was also thinking that it could be something with my google chrome settings.

Both Internet Explorer and Firefox run using the Microsoft Internet Options while Chrome uses it’s own settings and I may simply have something set up that this page does not like. I will try taking a look at the default zoom as well.

I usually access the site using my XB1, usually works fine.

An MS product running MS software to view an MS website. Seems like the safest option.
