Figured out what is causing the unbelivably fast drivatars in career mode

I don’t disagree that the Drivatars are broken (and no it isn’t just friends, I have seen random Drivatars flogging the rest of the field by 15+ seconds), just that the G readings are not evidence of them being broken. The fact that Drivatars are racing at paces that would make them a top ten time on the leaderboards, and the fact that it is often only one of them and he is so much faster than the other 22 Drivatars says that there is something wrong (unless T10 have adopted the Merc F1 theory on “racing” which is the most boring and unfun thing to watch and even worse if you are playing/participating - racing is supposed to be about competition, not having one car peel away).
Limiting agression seems to help a bit but like you I cannot believe the speeds and lines that some of these superfast drivatars take.

Thanks to all for your tips, however some of you may have misunderstood what I was specifically talking about. I have no problems racing in career mode on expert mode, or rival events where i can select my own car to drive. I am increasing my lap times and moving up the ladder in Rivals events where I can select my own car. I was talking about the ‘Rivals’ events where you don’t have the option to chose whatever vehicle you wish to drive to beat the fastest time.

For example, the very first event in the VIP category, Watkins Glenn - Ford Mustang (I think it’s a 2014 model). You can’t select a car that you think is going to perform better! Every one who participates in these specific rival events have a equal chance, simply because we are all driving the same car under the same conditions.

Obviously there is a lot of variances that determine whether or not a driver has a chance of beating the best lap times, but as I was saying in my last post, it still leaves me baffled how the drivers with the best lap times can drive without Traction and Stability control, or even if they turn stability off, and are able to successfully keep the car on the road without sliding/drifting around corners whilst achieving the best lap times.

In the above event - VIP Rivals event at Watkins Glenn with the Ford Mustang, I turned traction and stability control off just like the drivers with the best lap times, and when I drove it the same way, flat out like I do in expert mode in career mode where I win all the events, I couldn’t keep the car on the road when cornering! It would slide all over the place!

Maybe it’s me, and I just need to drive without traction and stability mode on and get use to it. But I too, have been driving racing Sims for the last 25 years, and I would consider myself a pretty good driver. (Expert Mode)

I will take RM KrypticKhaos advice and watch the best lap replays with the telemetry on and see exactly how they do it.

Cheers and Happy Sim Racing

Keep in mind, that guy or girl who set that #1 time may have grinded for an hour or two to set that time, turning lap after lap until they achieve an almost-perfect run.

As B Wald said very well, the higher the ranking is toward the top in many cases the more laps it took to get there. Not always but for me that’s how it works. If you see a time of mine near the top it is almost always after spending a ton of laps to get that time. I nearly every lap will mess up at least 1 corner so it takes a lot of laps before a complete good lap gets put in. By saying mess up I don’t mean dirty the lap but rather didn’t get through the corner as fast as I thought possible for me.
