FH5 on PS5 | Early Access April 25, Launch Day April 29

That’s a really stupid move. PGG ignored the mountain of bugs and spent resources on unnecessary things.

By the way, I found a new bug today. It’s a bug where the car moves by inertia when you start photo mode during a race.

Usually when playground games does the horizon backstage passes, that usually means new content is winding down. They did that with 4, last car was the vuhl which was a hint to the location in 5.

Once fable releases, i expect 6 to come out. Forza horizon 5 is 4 years old and we are in the last years of seriesx’s cycle.

Plans change quickly in business, remember the Xbox One’s launch credo?

I do and i remember when satya wanted to get out of the business altogether.

Thing is, the next xbox is already in production, they invested billions in it, doesnt make sense to kill it . Theyre going to release it and it will most likely be the last.

I like the keyword “This is an Xbox”. In other words, users can choose any device on the premise that they need a Microsoft account. I can agree with that.
But, a platform that does not require an MS account is not an Xbox. Allocating resources to something that is not an Xbox is a serious betrayal of Xbox users.
At least, I have no buying such a fat and fragile device.

It’ll likely be the last “real” Xbox, the next system from them is going to be some sort of streaming puck for use with X-Cloud

What hurt microsoft is the bad publicity and stupid advertising. Remember dan mattrick. He ruined the brand overnight.

Also releasing two different series consoles was a poor decision. They should have done what sony did release a series x digital and physical.

We shall see. They could still make systems. Three manufacturers isnt as bad as the 90s

We had nintendo, sega, apple, sony, neogeo, atari, various 3do companies, nec all making consoles throughout that decade.

I take no issue with Playstation players getting a chance to play the game.

What I do take issue with is that I spent 500 dollars on a Xbox Series X, and I’m now learning for the same money, I could’ve bought a PS5 instead and had access to not only Forza Horizon games both 5 and going forward, but also Gran Turismo and Driveclub.

Unless this comes full circle, and Gran Turismo suddenly comes to Xbox, Playstation players are getting the better deal.

With FH5 being released on PS5, the number of Japanese users will increase. And they will know.
They learned that not only are there few Japanese cars in Forza, but the few Japanese cars that are available are all North American spec.

Japanese PS users will make a big fuss on social media about the bad reputation of Xbox and Forza.

PGG got the order wrong. They didn’t fix the bugs, they didn’t make Japanese cars the correct JDM, and they were lured by quick money. They will get what they deserved.

I mean everyone has to make choices based on what’s available at the time. Like I said, I saw no value in getting Xbox hardware because their exclusives game has been pretty poor for a long while. “We have Halo, and…Halo!” If anything’s multi-platform I’ll almost always buy it on PC, because it’s far more easily transferrable and I can play it on hardware that I can upgrade in the future. But that’s just me.

And it’s not like you don’t have other racing options on Xbox. Both the basic Assetto Corsa and AC:C were ported to consoles, and those are much more rigorous simulations than Gran Turismo has ever been.

Setting aside the fact that Assetto Corsa caters more exclusively to the sim side of things, the big driver of discontent with Forza Motorsport 2023 is not that it’s another racing game that has done poorly - it’s that it’s the first-party racing game that’s doing so bad. Imagine Gran Turismo 7 being as shoddy and uninspired as Motorsport 2023 is. Hell, when that game launched and had it’s issues (some of which led the FIA to pull their sponsorship), a lot of us here pointed and laughed - myself included - and watched with confidence that Turn 10 wouldn’t make those same mistakes. And they didn’t. Instead, they said “Hold our built-from-the-ground-up beer” and did worse.

I have the original Assetto Corsa for Xbox, and it’s terrible to play without a wheel, unfortunately, and I imagine its the same for ACC.

I understand this is all a hindsight situation, but I was personally very strapped for cash (and still am) back when I got my Series X, and I only got mine by chance back when Series Xs were extremely hard to come by, and the PS5 wasn’t even on shelves still.

I know there wasn’t malicious intent with this decision, but in a world where Gran Turismo is currently much better than Forza Motorsport, and I have a secondhand copy of Driveclub still waiting to be used for that day where I can finally justify spending enough money on a new Playstation, this felt very backhanded to me on a personal level that others on here may not relate to.

I’m happy Playstation players can finally get their hands on Horizon considering the only alternatives are The Crew: Motorfest and Need for Speed: Unbound, which are both poor in my opinion, but it’s disappointing I could’ve had a chance at playing both Microsoft and Sony’s IPs had they made this decision sooner, or at least handled it better.

Disappointed but it’s not up to me. Ponies are the worst/toxic fanbase in gaming. Just go online and see how negative they talk about Xbox games while not talking about how terrible their first party games are.

Xbox bad, PlayStation good. Xbox got no games while begging for Xbox games. The irony of it all. I’ll be staying with Xbox because gamepass is the only true exclusive.

When I think about all the hours spent making paints and liveries from FH2 and up until today I worry most that I probably can’t change platforms without loosing everything so if FH6 will be a Playstation game from day one I am still forced stuck with my Xbox.

I told you that I truly don’t want to sell my Xbox for a trade in.

…there are people in this very thread doing the exact same thing in reverse. Again, I was online in the early 2000s. I thought we left most of this tribal silliness back there.

I admit, I’m not in here as often as I used to be, so I may have missed it. Speaking for myself, I’m not tribal, I have a Series X, Switch and a handheld PC. I would buy a PS5 if I felt they had anything on that side worth buying but to me they do not. Just stating my stance. I don’t argue.

Is dividing users what Microsoft wants to do?

One of the things I like about the Series X/S generation is that MS has so much variety of genres in their 1st party output.

Gone are the days of Xbox just being Halo, Gears, Forza.

Add in the variety you get in Game Pass and you can be playing a different genre everyday.

I don’t see much variety when I look at their competitors 1st party games.
