I had FH5 installed for a while now,
havent really played anymore for a few months, but launched the game at least once every few weeks…
I also usually at least launch xbox app / ms store almost every day to play other games or just to check out for new updates…
yesterday, I got a note about an update error for FH5,
while I DL/installed other games/patches the other day; those finished okay with no problems,
but since then I always get the same error now for FH5 when I launch the xbox game pass app for PC,
or MS store app:
sometimes it would let me try to launch the game without finding an update before doing so, in that case I get an error from the FH5 launcher while it tries downloading “0B of 0B” of a new update file.
most often, it will detect that it’s missing the update when searching for it in MS store or or directly when opening the xbox game pass app, then it says FH5 requires a 140GB update, which I guess would be the entire game… in that case it stops with error 0x80070005 :
PS: I’m on Windows 10 and have access only to the version included in game pass (got active game pass ultimate subscription),
happens with latest KB5031356 and the one before, since yesterday,
Warhammer Darktide & Starfield updated without error automatically the other day;
got ~270GB of space left on the SSD where FH5 is installed to, system SSD has over 1TB left, so enough space for any install files or temporary page/cache files…
does anyone know how I could try to proactively fix this,
other than having to wait for the next windows/game update that might fix it ‘on its own’, or without having to uninstall/redownload the entire game?
I tried game install verification / file check, but that didn’t fix anything…
