FH5 dev cycle and licensing

With FH4 licences expiring I wonder what will happen with FH5. Assuming FH6 is released next year we are 2 years over the normal release cycles for Horizon games. Will FH5 get delisted sooner after FH6 releases than previous games? Or were the licenses extended? Do we think PG will drop FH5 relatively quickly?

I think FH5 will overlap FH6 for at least as long as FH4 overlapped FH5

I agree. When FH5 was released, I expected FH4 to have 6 months at most before being delisted, I even built my FH4 content plan around it (I had over 6 months of videos recorded and scheduled for it,) but we got another 3 years out of it so I don’t see any reason why FH5 would be any different given that games now have extended development time so licensing would likely be over a longer period to avoid the disastrous situation we had with Motorsport 7.

I expect we will be here in x years time having the same discussion about what happens to FH6, FH7, FH8 etc assuming MS don’t completely burn the franchise or games platform at some point before then

If FH6 goes the way of FM8 - dropping the number and becoming an eternally updating game (Haha!) - FH5 could be EOL rapidly. And to show they learned their lesson from previous top secret unannounced EOLs, they’ll give sixish months notice - except for DLC, because they’ve never learned a thing about setting reminders. I’m sure MS has a program for that…

yea, sure
Thats how it works

people will still be playing FH5 in 2027
