FH4 Freezes all the sudden

Hello guys,

I bought the full version of FH4 recently and everything was working fine and I already put 4 hours into it without running into any problems. The Nvidia driver installed was the 411.
Now a few days ago I was playing for like an hour and went offline after that. I went back online later on and all the sudden i get constant freezes now.
The weird thing is that nothing has changed since then. The pc wasn’t even turned off. The game stops a couple of minutes after the game has loaded and mostly while I’m in the Forza Hub Menu.
While i can still hear all the sounds in the environment the game doesn’t recognize any input and is simply stuck.

I tried to Update to the newest Nvidia driver 416 but that didn’t help

My PC Rig is the following:
i5 7600k
16 GB Ram
GTX 1070

No AntiVir software or any software installed running in the background

Hope you can help me since I’m unable to play right now

Same here, started recently (haven’t launched the game for a few days). Freezes within a minute or two after entering the game, even while just browsing the menus. The music keeps playing and I have to force-close the app/process. Might be related to the latest Wind 10 update 1809 or G-Sync. Do you use G-Sync?

hey there had this issue and solved it by restarting IP helper servce in windows 10.

First to be sure that you have the same problem i had, try run the game offline (if it does, and does not freeze, it might be the same issue). After that, go back online, go to windows services, look for IP Helper and restart the service. Once restarted, start up the game again. If it does not freeze, then you had the issue i had. Please let us know if it works or if you need more clarity on the issue.

Thanks for the tip. Sounds reasonable as I think the game tries to go online right about the time it freezes now. Will try this in the evening when I get home.

Yeah I will try that too, when I get home.
G sync was also something I considered, but I usually keep it disabled

Unfortunately, that’s not it. Launching the game offline or restarting the IP Helper service did nothing.

Strangely enough, tried launching Geforce Experience as suggested in one of the threads, it has updated itself, and I kept it running (I did not apply its “optimal” suggested settings, which are much lower than what I use), and the game has not frozen yet. So I urge you try doing this as well.

That is something i already tried…
But DJ Asthma1’s solution worked like a charm for me. I actually can’t believe that.
Thanks for that, you deserve a cookie
