The October episode of Forza Monthly revealed the events and rewards for each of the seasons players will see when Series 1 starts on November 11th. The Festival Playlist is a feature first introduced in FH4, but updated with FH5 features and now using points instead of percentage.
SERIES
Total Series Progress: 246 points
Series Reward 1: Mercedes-AMG ONE (120 points)
Series Reward 2: McLaren F1 (180 points)
SUMMER: WET SEASON
November 11 - 18
Total Season Progress: 64 points
Seasonal Reward 1: DeLorean DMC-12 (26 points)
Seasonal Reward 2: Aston Martin DBS SL '19 (46 points)
There is also bound to be at least one popular exclusive car locked behind reaching a pretty high level at it as well. I don’t particularly dislike it - it just has limited repeatability as far as I’m concerned - but it should be a minor element of the multiplayer offering, not the focus.
We can agree on that but since its a new game, practically every car is exclusive, unless we can get a definitive list of cars that will NOT be offered in the autoshow. With everyone starting out at zero credits, those super max auction house cars will be scarce. I mean I’m not trying to throw away 20 million when I don’t have 100 million in the bank.
What about the missing 6 points each season? When I sum up all the season points, there is always a gap of 6 points to the maximum amount. Could that be the Trial?
And all seasons together seems to be 246 instead of 256 possible points. Regarding the circumstance, that points for the MONTHLY rival are only given once, the total amount of possible points reduce to 234. 24 of them are unexplained.
Manteo made a typo, total is 246pts as it can be seen in forza monthly video. [Correct and fixed, thanks! - MM] Missing 6pts I think we all can rightly guess is for trial, since it is same in all seasons and only trial is missing. Monthly rivals 4pts is added to each season (same as percentage was added to each season in FH4).
I think trial+playground games+eliminator give 11pts, which leaves enough points in everything else to get both cars in each season. This is just for people that are bothered with it, to know they should be fine.
Probably need to add another 13 points to that to cover Event Lab, arcade games, Horizon open and Horizon tour, so looks to be about 40 points available excluding the stuff which some people might not enjoy.
That is exactly how I feel about this, engagement vs enjoyment, nailed it, sadly this game looks to be more grind/engagement/fun killing to me with the laundry list chores
danger zones restricted to car type and PI for seasons, no thank you, that’s not how I enjoy the game
It’s sad indeed that the serious racing component got reduced from installment to installment. From the few races I’ve seen the AI seems as awful as always. Fast in a straight line with cornering skills that can’t be described as such.
Hopefully the “drawing distance” for invulnerability against objects and terrain got removed or significantly increased.
The transition towards an open-world themepark continues with even more “live-service” content.
I set my little hope in having fun with car building, tuning & testing. As long as it’s not completely wasted time because Rivals and Unranked exist & some knowledge can be gained, I’ll create my fun with the game. If they butcher this small piece of “hardcore” content in the future I’ll be gone too.
Very unfortunate because the base (physics) is still the best of all open-world racers and will probably remain so for a long time.
Horizon (1), Horizon 2, Horizon 3 and Horizon 4 were each a completely different game. After looking at this list it appears to me that Horizon 5 is simply a cookie cutter version of Horizon 4 with a few minor changes (besides the location). Not sure how I feel about that, given that I had finally had enough of the repetitiveness of Horizon 4 about 2 months ago. While I will give Horizon 5 my full effort and hopefully enter the game with the same enthusiasm I had for the earlier Horizons, I can easily see me tiring of this one quite quickly. (I do go back and play the older ones from time to time, especially the first one, and still enjoy them very much, so we will see.)
My enthusiasm is lower than it was for FH4 but me being a semi-completionist it will get my full effort at least until the campaign is completed. The anxiousness/excitement in my belly about playing just isn’t there but it’ll be something new to explore and conquer. I’m waiting to see the percentage of people who will actually reach the 80% for the 2 vehicles, especially the 80% for the series reward. The car specific PR stunts should be very interesting, people are gonna have to get creative to check those off each week and ultimately will force people to do the other tasks such as Arcade and Eliminator to get the top reward for the season.
Yeah. they(pg) clearly dont play with randoms. Some times it takes 2,3 even 4 tries to win online. Now with the other stuff online also it will triple the pain.
Yeah triple the ‘fun’ , triple the fail.
Anyway i rather spend 2hours in the auction house than to play 15 min of elimnator and be spammed with child-ish messages.
PS: Please PG, please dont forget to create some events with X999 level cars(track-road only) in the mud /dirt with ubeatable drivatar_ s. Some rain might not hurt also. Yeah, fun times…
2 of the first items to get disabled, horn sound and whatever the chat thing is called! Wished I could silence the sound of the chat popup also but it’s tied into other sounds.
