Festival Playlist Preview (S27)

Hoonigan and Deberti are American as well, not that they’ll be great at 998. Easiest way I’ve found is to sort the garage/autoshow/promo list by country and if needed filter by different classes. Remembering everything can be overrated.

Edit: Sierra is US iirc and has that cart.

hot wheels SC is a pretty useless thing to tune for, so I’m finally gonna do the BTTB in all its hideous glory

also Hummer A800 is a really dumb restriction if it’s only the H1

So while @CashlessPlains8 tends towards the underdogs, I tend to make the livery towards the OP/meta, and hopefully that helps with getting the numbers/attention to drive more downloads.

So I went with a Scout livery for the trial this week. Preview:

It’s based on:

That site claims it’s “Glacier blue”, but I figured it was close enough to “Man City Blue” that I went with that. I figured @AudioRebelUK would approve.

I’ve found real life examples of this livery on a multitude of colors including a really interesting mint/seafoam green, orange, red… etc. The livery is set up so it’s trivial for me to do color swaps.

I’m thinking the mid-week color swap will go to black stripes over white paint. I dig the overall vibe, and for future iterations I could potentially invert the design and have the stripes be vinyl masks to use some sort of special effect for the stripe color. I’ll go ahead and let the livery stand on its own for this first release. The Scout is a pretty meta car (“always has been”) so I expect I’ll have future opportunities to play with the design, but I feel like this is a good base.

Thanks for the recap, @msb247.

We’ll see if anything else for the week. As always, I’m open to requests, both for car models and specific designs. I’ll dig through my archives on the pickups… I bet I have some “Liberty” American Flag ones done up, which would be thematic.

Nice livery and blue color, I’ll grab it when it’s available. The Scouts bound to get some attention with it being eligible for the Trial and a seasonal championship.

Just caught that myself. That’s really sharp and would rock that all day. Later when i get home i need to see how the FM update affected my issue though. If no change i possibly have another test puzzle piece to try. I can try changing the game installed drive to C (operating system) instead of D (storage).

That list is a breath of fresh air…seems people have been stuck on the scout and the power ram since the game began. Nice to see other cars putting up good times in c class. The new Chevy truck is going to be one of my favs in the game.

Nice one @BravoSteelviper , Glacier-blue’s good enough for one of your Citified liveries.

Can anyone establish what the three other main Forzathon Shop vehicles pictured are ?
It’s a safe bet that they’re all American vehicles but I wasn’t sure if at least one of the pictures is a Ford ?

that’s a great bit of research. I literally don’t remember setting that time, I’ve been testing roughly half of the pickups at mangrove and the other half at Titan for a few days straight, it’s all jumbled up lol

I basically split the Pickups and 4x4’s in half. 20 new tunes for The Trial C600 dirt and 20 new tunes for The Titan B700, including both Forzathon Broncos.

Czinger 21c, Saleen S7 LM, Chevy '23 Z06 for the Hot Wheels S2, plus a BTTB for good measure.

Trailcat, Hummer, both Shelbys, and Ford RS200 and #4 Focus for the A800 stuff.

Exactly 50 total tunes ready to share :sunglasses:

Updated the list with both geist’s new time and my own, I’ll share my tune for the Wrangler if anyone wants to try it out tomorrow, tried to make it as auto friendly as possible with the clutch + transmission upgrades.

I’ve done some runs too, but didn’t have much time, so it is possible that I wasn’t using most efficient tune. You can probably subtract 0,5sec. All runs done with automatic.

Toyota AT38 - was doing low 1:26. It just doesn’t have enough PI to give it enough power (too wide front tires?).
Hummer - V10 swap + centri charger + full aero. “heaavy” = low 1.22, “light” = mid 1:22. Maybe there is some better engine to use? Maybe no aero or only rear would be better? Too many options, too little time. Overall was pretty good to drive.
Bronco 21 - stock engine = low 1:24, V8 swap = mid 1:23. Easy to drive, just not too fast. Would benefit from manual.
F-150 EV - mid 1:22. Maybe should’ve used a bit “longer” gears. Don’t know how I feel about it. I remember there was something off with it, but can remember what exactly (I was doing tests yesterday).
Bronco Raptor - stock engine = high 1:25, V8 swap = mid 1:25, V8+cams = mid 1:25. A bit worse to drive than 2021 Bronco. Heavy. Would benefit from manual, cause it was shifting into 7th gear which is way longer than 1-6th.

Did also few too many laps with Jeep Wrangler to beat you :upside_down_face: Soooo wiggly. In the end succeeded with “rear aero” version, but IMO no aero is quicker. I just can’t control it. Also was using stock gearbox/clutch. Would benefit a lot from M+C. Will try it later. Maybe.

Thanks for trying those Zip I think that explains why there was no AT38 time for me to find lol, I just about squeezed back past you last night with the Wrangler, we are totally surrounded by Scouts apart from one and it’s a cheated time.

Stock clutch + transmission for any auto users in these cars Christ…you can catch up on any lost sleep during the gear changes, I tried reverting to it on my Wrangler tune to make room for more power + less weight and ended up making it worse.

I tried the Bronco Raptor with a 6spd transmission. It still feels heavy even with the final ratio at 5.69 it doesn’t have enough to stand out from the others of been testing.

I don’t do rivals , rather i test in actual races with difficulty set to highly skilled then move up from there when i pick the one that feels best. That way there’s room for errors if i pancake a wall or miss a check point from trying to cut it close. And i like to have the ai present so i know what the pace will be when the time comes on Thursdays

Edit: also with auto trans and controller

:grimacing:

A800 Modern Muscle on offroad, this won’t end well. Especially with all the people who show up in stock cars.

I like this restriction. The Mustang RTR Spec 5 makes a great A800 dirt build.

Also, the Falcon GT and Monaro VXR, just to name a few.

Don’t get me wrong, I like it too, but as a Trial race, it seems likely to be a disaster. There’s always one or two people showing up in stock cars, and Modern Muscle on dirt will really punish that. And this just seems like a Trial that would create a chaotic mess.

But we’ll see what happens.

Totally agree. I think the people from the forums will be A OK but the others I have my doubts about! :joy: (wrong tune, no tune etc)
Definitely will be some interesting builds floating around for this Trial…
