Festival Playlist events and rewards Sep. 11 - Sep. 18 (Summer S51)

oh, I see, I don’t play the games you mention (including Motorsport, though I did do 5, 6 and 7) - oh well, just have to put up with it!

The Taycan / Taycan WP are the only cars to work for the treasure hunt because the rest of the German EVs were added after this original series, and weren’t set up to work now for it, maybe?

I’ve had one or two really close ones like that in recent months. I usually go into a Playground Games event thinking “Okay let’s get this over with as quickly as possible,” but then if the match stays close I get super invested in it.

Any joy on the Danger Sign @SpirantCrayon22 @PD_Top_Gun ?

I tried them all stock myself for a change, drift zone was no issue and just about squeaked the speed zone but that distance looks impossible to me, even starting all the way back at the Buenas Vistas house I could only get 865ft, nowhere near the 1,049.9.

did not manage the danger sign and I gave up on the speed zone, too - well done indeed for doing it!

Not sure if it will help but I had a ugrundy A, 800 tune on my A45 (I know you’re not a fan of those tunes). Cleared it first go at around 1080 ft or so. Just started from main road west end of the runway left of the junction.

Been away for the weekend so just getting around to these things at the mo.

Still to try the drift zone and I’ll probably fail as I suck at drifting.

stock options, series 51 “German Automotive”, week 1 summer/wet season

[loose approach - cheapest car for the stunts, least-driven car for the championships]

weekly “The AMG Treatment” – M-B SLK (Paso Inferior 123.30/131.63/128.67 mph)

trial “Stock Showdown: Mercedes-Benz 190E” – M-B 190E (beat 5 robots then team-killed to 0)

eventlab “Shipyard Autocross Battle” – BMW X6 M (bit different, not bad)

games “Down the Hatch” – Audi S1 (did fairly well with decent team-play)

drift zone “Las Curvas” – #98 BMW 325i (easy; 95,370)

championship “Meet and Street” – Audi RS 7 '21 (easy wins)

championship “Pick Me Up” – M-B G 63 6x6 (fairly easy or easy wins)

treasure “Power Up” – Porsche Taycan S (German electric car, Trébol speed zone, 1 star)

RA speed trap “Cascada Fuerte” – Bronco R WP (tricky; 115.16 mph)

RA championship “Reap the Rewards” – Lancia 037 (easy wins)

HW drift zone “Horizon Nexus” – Toyota Sera ‘91 (pretty easy; 138,517)

HW championship “Melting the Ice” – Ford Mustang DD (2 easy wins then a tricky one)

Haven’t done anything this week yet, but I’ll have to give that speed zone a try once or twice before I inevitably get frustrated and throw some upgrade parts on.

Well the best I could do was downgrading the A45 with drag tires then adding various things to bring it back to it’s starting 707PI, unsurprisingly power and then rally suspension being the key thing I think to stop the car clunking on the ramp before you go off it, managed to clear it easily with 1190ft even with a poor run-up.

I was going to complain about the lead AI running all three Trial races a few seconds faster than anyone should feasibly be able to in those stock cars, because these low-powered events are where they cheat most blatantly…but then on the third race I had two AI somehow get completely sideways right after the start, smack into me and spin me out. There’s no way to sugarcoat it, the AI programming in this game is an absolute disgrace, and the fact that PGG made no concrete steps to fix it over its lifetime is even more so. Like, what are we even doing here? Also my sincere apologies to the slow teammate whom I gave the mother of all rear-ends to in the same race; I think they were just trying to be nice and block some AI so I could catch up.

I made several attempts at the speed zone in the stock Audi and was coming up a few MPH short, so I was all set to call it and thrown on some upgrades…but then I did the worst possible thing for my free time and managed a run within 1 MPH. Of course once I knew it was possible I had to sit there and keep trying until I got it. Many failed attempts later and I finally nailed the perfect run that squeaked by at 95.02. As much as I hate being forced to upgrade, I almost prefer things like that danger sign, where one attempt shows right away that it isn’t physically possible and I can quickly throw on some random engine parts.

Had a lol-worth moment at the start of the EventLab. The moment the race started, the AI proceeded to faceplant into the first container, and then I Immediately rear-ended them. We both sat there for a few seconds utterly confused.
