Festival Playlist events and rewards May 22 - May 29 (Summer S47)

Got this briefly as well but I think it was in the last series.
A start in the backup series but after shutting down and rebooting after a while it went back to normal so just the usual glitch I suppose… :man_shrugging:

If anything there is an uptick in the auction house section… priorities I guess

There are players interacting with the community. Maybe not here, but it is happening which is a shame in some ways but I’ve always seen the forums as being the place where the more dedicated players are and not really of interest to casual players. Be that a good or a bad thing.

My YT views have jumped after sliding at the end of the original playlists because xbox people lost interest in the game and there are some comments from players identifying themselves as PS players.

If this is happening to me then I’m sure other creators are seeing it too.

I don’t know how the engagement is on places like discord or other toxic social media because I refuse to use them but I would suspect that PS players would likely be having the same questions or issues that we xbox players have and be reaching out to the communities on the platforms they already use.

I only became active here when I dropped the hellscape that is twitter and I refuse to use anything facebook owned and this was an active, mostly sensible, platform

It’s been a long time since it’s happened to me until this month. I think it’s a couple of times now.

Yeah - for me too.
Just checked, it was the 2nd day of Spring S46. About 4 hrs after the day started. Shutdown console for 15 mins, restarted the game about 5 mins after console restart and all was back to normal.
Probably the usual server overload from all the new PS players.
No idea why they can’t pre-empt these things. Same things happen on series update times when the servers can’t handle it.
Wasn’t expecting no FH5 update for S47.
Does that mean the end of FH5 update ? If so - thank the Lord.

I’m going to try to be positive, even though I really wanted the other series option to win and this week had a bunch of the rudest driving Ive ever seen …

I really liked the Street Racing championship in B class super hot hatches. Im not a fan of hot hatches but they are really strong in B class, and the courses made for better racing than most of the other stuff in the playlist this week.

I built every car option possible, they were all really strong, but I saw nary a good downloadable tune for almost any of them.

So open tune for a FWD Megane R26.R it is:

Drag tires are the way to go for B class street races in these cars. The game overrates the lateral G numbers for drag tires, but for these in B class, they’re an advantage.

Drag tires
Max rear tire width
Max rear track width
Race front and rear antiroll bars
Rally differential
Race turbo with antilag
Race engine block
Race fuel system
Race exhaust

Engine upgrades other than race exhaust may be better … street racing in B class tilts toward power.

All other options stock.

Tune:

27.0 front tire pressure
30.0 rear tire pressure
1.0 front antiroll
25.0 rear antiroll
40% acceleration on the diff
44% deceleration on the diff

I got this Megane R26.R to #120 at Canon Run rivals leaderboard, and it would probably be around top 150 at the 2 races in this championship, judging by my finishing times. Its strong.

With drag tires, tune settings for a little more oversteer are needed. FWD is the same way.

This build and tune pretty much works for all the FWD options. Some cars start out a lot heavier so I went with sport weight reduction for one of the cars, but the tune settings were close for all. A little ARB tweaking is about all that needed to change, if anything.

Driving these FWD cars was all pretty easy. Not over powered. The only two things: If you dont use antilock brakes, brake early and dont just mash the brake to the floor … and when exiting corners, dont just mash the gas pedal when there’s still turning to do. 100% gas when a FWD is turning makes to car want to go straight … can’t both 100% accelerate and turn. If you are less than 100% on the gas, the front wheels can both turn and accelerate.

I did a Donut Media Hi Car story chapter for yesterday’s thingy and it did not register. Trying El Camino now. Ah . . . no idea if I went over 100 mph. Eejit. Ah, okay, it registered for the whatnot so I must have!

Everything is fine on my PC, the main thing is that you don’t even have to finish the task…you can immediately exit the race by accelerating to the desired speed)

yes, either the Donut stories don’t count because reasons or it was a temporary bug - done it now, thanks

It’s getting harder to force myself through these repeat playlists every week…though having said that I kept playing FH4’s repeats far longer than I should have. At least this playlist was the polar opposite of last week, nice and straightforward and finished in a couple of hours. The Trial was a hilarious mess, nothing but bumper cars and ARCA brakes, but it was also an easy win so I’ll take it. I missed more than my fair share of corners too; I don’t know if it’s my crappy eyes or my old monitor, but I was having a hell of a time picking up the braking points on the track amidst all the neon overload.

Ha, glad I’m not the only one who was squinting at the screen! I was trying to drive from memory alone because visibility was so poor with that lighting (and with my memory, yeah, nah, not a great idea) I remember disliking it last time around - it’s ok, atmospheric if you will, if you’re just cruising around but in a race situation? Not at my age.

At present I don’t mind the repeats, as I’m trying to use cars I haven’t previously to complete them - races & PR Stunts, so that’s something. First 2 attempts at the trial were quickly noped out of, the first was just rammers & cornerbombers, second was me in first, and my “team mates” 8/9/10/11/12th and getting further back… Third time was all top 5/6 for us, so it just shows you*

*not sure what it shows, but it probably shows something.

Yeah, even on normal street races I occasionally have issues, because the smoke for checkpoints is almost the exact same shade of red as the braking lines, but this is even worse. I remember watching people play one of the Codemasters F1 games several years ago, and on those if you had the driving line on the braking markers would appear as raised 3D boxes above the track surface until you slowed down. I wish we had that as an option in Forza.
