Festival Playlist events and rewards Mar. 16-23 (Winter S18)

I just find eventlabs boring and only do them for the extra points.
Series 18 just fell in to that same category as all the others.
Just another chore for the chorelist.
Sorry, but just not my cup of coco.

Also - on the bug side of things - I’ve played many eventlabs in Mexico and on HW map but the Accolade - Hot Wheels - Competition, Experimentation and Creativity - Play Another Player’s Eventlab creation utilising Hot Wheels track pieces has never triggered.
Same again this week.

An eventlab from a HW build stub triggered that accolade for me. It was a Star Trek one on the editors choice.
I noticed all the stubs had a new tag and realized I had never done one from there.

Pinata Homage
Smash a donkey pinata in Guanajuato:
Drive your 2016 Hoonigan GYMKANA 10 Focus RS RX as if you were going to run the 1971 Ford Mustang “Night Hawk” race. Hover over the signage for this race to reveal the location of the Pinatas.
The “Night Hawk” race start is located on the right-side of the map.-The top left corner of the Night Hawk’s banner will be pointing to the location of the Pinatas; near an XP sign, just North of the “Night Hawk” starting line.

Both eventlabs were well designed but neither were particularly fun for me.

The first eventlab by GY DENY was exceptionally well designed for such a small space.

The second eventlab by RICKRANGER711 features different routes which is a concept I wish was used in official routes, especially in horizon open. If done correctly it adds an element of risk/reward and new passing opportunities.

I did Tunnel Run, then hit reverse after I respawned in free roam and the Piñatas were right there. :+1:

Different risk/reward routes were nice in second EL as it meant both laps were very different. The crop circles flow nicely too, as did Cast Haste’s last week. Just feels wasted driving round these creations alone. (I still blame that Mario Kart with the supercars.)

Looks like there’s two tunes to try later in a car I usually enjoy.

Won both trial races with your tune….although my teammates were busy corner bombing each other, so was a pretty easy pair of wins. :+1:

Agree with your comments on @RickRanger711’ s Event lab. I have added this one to my favourites and will use it o0n our Club Nights

Agreed, it is a good idea, however probably limited by Microsoft only allowing you to be a member on one Club? I already run a Club for my friends, family and workmates, but i would certainly be happy to load a Forum Vinyl Group on my cars.

Unless anyone knows of any other ways you can be part of more than one Club in the game?

Thanks for giving it a try!:grin:

I threw together a vinyl group for anybody who’s rocking a @TonyKartRcr tune and wants to represent:
SC 115 779 898

I spent way more time on the stupid “stroke” effect on the text than on the logo, but the stroke helps keep it visible on a wide range of colors underneath.

I also made a quick monochrome “tune by” using the same font
share code:
148 834 249

With it being one color you can change the color to whatever you need it to be without messing with it (unlike the logo).

Wow!!! Thank you so much. I’m definitely going to be running this on my cars.

That’s a cool move. I did one for CashlessPlains8. I posted in one of these playlist links. But you can find it if you do a search of my vinyls.

Way to set the bar, Ron! Nice gesture :+1:t2:

Yeah, on hers I’ve made a template of a replica of her logo, and then I customize the colors to fit the color scheme of whichever livery I’m doing.

It’s silly that we can’t use each other’s logos to help support/represent each other. Nobody wants to mess with replicating my gamertag vinyl group… way too complicated. Maybe I ought to come up with a simpler logo that can be substituted. Not really an issue at the moment.

It would be cool if the process was simpler for exchanges of logos and such as you mentioned.
Another thing would be the ability to list team members like tuners and painters on our cars. And they would actually get a credit when we win.

Thanks @SummeryDaisy445
Will bear that in mind. :+1:
On the eventlabs, I agree that the effort involved to create them is well deserved. As with many (not too many though) in the past.

The only issue with them is that they are a run and win situation, so not really a challenging thing at the moment. I do recall some in the distant past that were actual races against drivatars, so the challenge - whilst not overly hard - was at least something to add an element of competition rather than the run it and win it anyway situation that we’ve had for many, many months now. Can’t even remember the last one to have any competitors, so it may be into the years bracket.

Here is a “tweaked” version of my trial tune. It has more power and a little less handling. I think the professional throttle jockeys will like this one.

73 Alpine RWD white wall tires no aero.

It’s fast and very lively. The added power is a nice addition on the first race jumping through all those rivers. It does sacrifice some handling vs the off-road rear aero build. In the hands of a good driver this tune will outperform all others. Good luck and I would love to hear your feedback.

Got on long enough to grab the livery and tune. And give everything a like. Looks good. Thanks for the work you put into these!
