I think im going to go with a Senna on drag tires for the trial. My first build and tune ran 2:10s three times in a row at Panoramica, with a best of 2:10.330 and i left time out there.
I shared that tune, and also shared my second build which has a little more grip but hasnt been timed yet. They do 0-100 mph in around 3.4 seconds, so maybe it can get out in front of the first corner party. The Senna comes with S2 grade race brakes standard, too, so it brakes well without ABS.
Im probably going to go deeper in testing and find the best build and tune for it. My first one had max rear downforce and i have no idea if less is better yet. Theres also a max weight reduction build possible, with no front spoiler … about same horsepower and 350 pounds lighter, and the skid pad grip numbers look the same. I have a feeling that one will want to understeer a lot in slow corners though.
Have you tried anything with the Speedtail? I’m planning to use that with AWD + Drags.
I mean I like it but no rear aero and incredibly weak front aero makes it…interesting, managed a 2:11.348 with it but I don’t expect to be even within 5 seconds of that tomorrow.
The P1 is also another option with a similar build to the Senna.
Why did they have to rob us with the senna and P1? I feel like they could of added some engine option to put both in S1 since they would be great meta or non meta circuit cars. I always used the P1 for the trials in Fh4…or the senna and it was the same only S2 class. I finally understand some of the stuff you all have been discussing about classes now. Their are so many cars that could of been great…but are lacking.
I tried a couple runs in the speedtail with drags but i only managed high 2:13s. I left some time out there and i think it would take more testing to figure out the right build for it than i really want to put into it right now because of the limited potential on Panoramica … but your 2:11 was nice. Seems like a pretty good time. Isnt that something like #500 on the board? The grip numbers look like some A class drag builds when dropping S1 cars into A so 2:11 is a lot better than i expected it could do.
Feels good to drive though. Drag tires always seem to feel better to me than they should, imo. Im late to using drag tires but have been on a drag tire kick lately dropping cars into lower classes.
I did a little better on rallies with on the speedtail … 2:12.7 on a less than perfect run. Harder to drive though because the build i used didnt have race brakes, and without ABS i was fighting lockups with the default controller settings. The finesse required made it feel more like work to drive it than fun. Ill probably move on to the P1 and save the speedtail for some event with less low speed corners.
I havent driven the P1 in probably a year but i remember kind of liking it in S2 sprints and street races. It cant hang with the meta options when they are driven right, but i won a bunch of horizon open races in it because most of the general public are missing a lot of apexes in S2 class. Good but not great. I think the biggest thing holding it back on circuits is lack of grip compared to some others in S2.
And after yesterday, i think the Senna’s most competitive form is probably in S1. If it can do top 500 times on Panoramica, im guessing it will be closer to the top in races without so many hairpins. Maybe.
I got way more than 10 wreckage skills in a minute, the last chapter still wouldent complete, or is it perhaps Wrecking ball skills they mean ? The info is often wrong, so thats why i am wondering
Put together a speed & handling tune for the Saleen that made quick work of the #Forzathon challenge for anyone interested. Used the Oval Circuit & Trébol Highway Speed Zone. Thanks & enjoy!
Panoramica was fine from practicing it, was so glad the 3rd race was Reservorio for obvious reasons so no problems there either, but Lookout there’s no other way to say it the Speedtail was horrific lol, through the tighter section of it on every lap I bet I wasn’t at full throttle for even half a second, no rear aero, drags and pitifully weak front aero will result in that though I guess.
My own tune and obviously isn’t shared, no reason to recommend the Speedtail to anyone beyond messing about, must be an in-joke from PG having that in the Forzathon shop this week.
