A lot of people haven’t realised it’s story based… Chapter 1 was Utopia Gardens (Week 1 of the playlist) Chapter 2 is Dystopia Gardens - A destroyed version of Utopia (This week of the playlist) and Chapter 3 is ARCADIA (Week 3 of the playlist) Arcadia is a fast paced futuristic Race-Track based on Utopia ![]()
This week is supposed to be difficult and tedious.
Can you not though?
Possibly
Thank you
I need new friends.
Stop making it worse ![]()
No.
Apologies, i’m not sure who you are? Were you the track creator this time around?
No, that’d be GT_James97
I thought it was entertaining, challenging to get through cleanly and really well made. I enjoy more technical offroading so the sharp right off the platform onto the rocks was a highlight for me that may have frustrated many.
Regardless, exactly as advertised so thanks for putting it together. I’m happy it was featured in the playlist. ![]()
your El Descenso Gladiator time is looking a little dusty ![]()
it was definitely tedious.
You forgot irritating
@Don_Joewon_Song thanks for stopping by, sorry everybody forgot their manners
It has nothing to do with manners but opinions based on personal experiences. I didn’t liked it either for multiple reasons. Dozens of locations were you’d bump into “things”, way too tight turns, unclear routing and so on. At that one jump I got stuck which resulted in me landing on the roof one level below. I once even managed to fall off the track. Having fun is something different in my opinion.
For the first few moments driving it I had a knee jerk reaction that I didn’t like it, but about a quarter of the way into the first lap I realized that it was the battle against the terrain that I always wished CC was in this game. Granted, it’s not exactly what I had in mind, but it’s still a step up from mindlessly and cartoonishly blasting over and through the terrain that CC normally is in this game.
I have a dream of an open world racing game that’s as realistic as possible physics and experience wise, but has Horizon’s open approach to events and freedom of gameplay. I always imagined CC in that game would play like Mudrunner. Given the limitations of the game, your course could never fully replicate that, but it did bring us a step in that direction, and for that I thank you.
Once I embraced it as a battle against the terrain, I had a blast.
I really love the thematic element of this series. Utopia was obviously more pleasant by design. I usually race with 3rd person chase cam, but I found dystopia to be way more fun and engaging in first person bumper cam. Just my 2c
I just straight-up lost the Trial for the first time in months. We got demolished in the first race with two nitrous-powered AI that finished almost 10 seconds ahead of the lead human, and three incompetents about as far off the back of the field. Second race was an easy win, and the third was shaping up to be pretty comfortable as well, but then one of our lead cars decided to completely miss a turn, fell way back, recovered somewhat, and then I guess screwed up again and lost us the race. The AI in general seemed really over-tuned this time, and I had extreme difficulty making headway against them despite that not usually being a problem. Just a frustrating waste of time.
