Festival Playlist events and rewards Apr. 25 - May 2 (Summer S33)

Are you playing on Series X? And also using Quick Resume? Sometimes it does this for me and a restart usually fixes it.

Nah, One X.

Its actually amusing so i dont mind. I find it hilarious that there are other players stuck here with me in the twilight zone…:joy::joy::joy::joy:

I have a series model but my One is more stable for some odd reason.

Forgot to say I did have one other good moment doing the playlist yesterday, was waiting for the HW SC to start and these two appeared in front of me…

Two great, great players. I’ve seen one of the K1Z’s once in Mexico just passing by but that was it before this.

Breezy trial for me this week. Only one person not pulling their weight. Not that I mind if there were more, but it did mean that I got to race the other person contesting for first as opposed to worrying about blocking or otherwise hindering the AI.

Out of my 3 options I chose the 2+2 Fastback, just because it was what tickled my fancy the most in the moment. Glad I did too because I was very close to picking my favourite Mustang (the '65) and it would have been just a sea of those things.

So it was a race between me and one of the many '65s. Their car had the corners, but mine had the straights, and it was a pretty even match. I won the first race, but I also started further ahead. When the second race came up, I knew I stood very little chance. Still, made a competition out of it.

I did have one error though. Coming off the long straight I took the outside on them, but had to leave them room through that long, sweeping uphill corner. Trying to maintain speed on the outside, my steering got very light. By the time I realized what was happening, tapping the wall was the better option than pumping the brakes to get weight transferred forward. Probably wouldn’t have made a difference in the result, but I could have cut down that .5 final gap to .3 I think, and kept more pressure on them.

Either way, good race, fun trail. Don’t say that often.

I can confirm this & agree with your disbelief. I jumped on for a bit last night & decided to just a have a quick look in the AH to see if one might pop up & I was stunned by the number of cars I was seeing. It was like every few refreshes & one popped, so of course I was hooked at that point to try to snag one.
Car after car, regardless of how fast I was to complete the buyout: “auction already closed”. I’ve found in the past that usually in these situations, you will still likely get a window of opportunity eventually, but that never happened. I spent more time trying than I wanted to but the volume of cars that literally kept popping induced a bit of target fixation, but the processing circle never made that final quarter turn you normally get with a successful buyout. My disgust finally outweighed my willingness to continue & I gave up. It’s pretty obvious the cars were obtained through hacked methods, & the same with those farming them from the AH.

The mods, cheats & general gaming of the system for some to monopolize the various aspects of this game makes it feel nearly impossible to be successful anymore if your playing it straight. Pretty discouraging really & tough to stay motivated constantly running into it in so many different areas.

Same situation with the Ford Mustang 2024 (which everyone was gifted with last week), try & win one for just over 1 million in the Auction House. It’s impossible to get/win one !

honestly it doesn’t have to be bots sniping, there’s a lot of people too. I used to be into the auction house heavy, I could get 20 cars in a row like that, I even got death threats for it. you need a series x or PC with a hard Ethernet connection, in the festival with blurry backgrounds turned off for the biggest advantage. some people use keyboard, etc. I know it’s frustrating but I pride, I’ve been mistaken for a bot 10+ times over the years

it is absolutely people modding the cars into the game though, as far as that goes.

I’m on XSX, not hard wired, but very fast IP. For me, when you have to get to that point, it’s not worth the effort. I get that there’s a lot of people faster than me with different set-ups, etc, but I’ve always been pretty successful at sniping auctions in the past, but it seems to be at a whole other level lately & definitely think automation is part of that equation. When a new auction pops & you can’t even pull the auction for buyout, that’s more than someone’s fast reflexes. Saw this multiple times last night, so not just my timing.

where did you see that one?

right - on xbox here but I’ll have a look and see what I can see or maybe look at steam, think I have an account

hm . . . wonder what that is about, then

not seeing that but as you say maybe it’s because I don’t own the steam version

as far as the microsoft shop goes it shows that I own everything available apart from the car vouchers, which I don’t need, think owning the game on either pc or xbox from microsoft gives both

The issue there is not your IP. Wi-Fi will always be effectively slower than a wired connection.

Even hypothetical Wi-Fi that’s the same speed as a wired connection will still be slower. The handshake protocol for wireless connections is way more complex than for wired ones, and they have to be. Every packet delivered requires the handshake protocol.

In the most layman terms, more needs to happen to get information over wireless connections.

Think of it like writing a book. The shorter the book, the faster information gets transferred to and from where you want it to go. Each stage, from your Xbox, to your router, to your modem, to your ISP, to the internet and beyond needs to write a paragraph in the book, or else the information doesn’t reach it’s destination intact (or at all in some cases). By having a wireless connection between your Xbox and your router, you’re more than doubling the size of the paragraph needed for that connection to work.

Add on top of that the fact that wireless connections are never as fast as wired ones, and you can see how your ISP probably isn’t the “x” factor here.

A lot of people deal with/don’t care about this though because of the massive convenience wireless can be. It really does hamper your internet though.

The MX and RA stunts were pretty easy but mostly with a car tuned for them. I used a 17 Giulia for RA and 15 Z28 for MX. Both remain rwd, added drag tires, max rear tire width, race weight loss and engine upgrades if anyone wants to set it up themselves. I also added race sway bars mostly to make the speed zones easier. I set the rear to max and the front can be to whatever you prefer.

Tunes are shared. The Camaro tune worked for all three. Enjoy!

Edit: also shared the road tune I used for the RA championship.

Not sure what I said to imply I’m completely clueless, but I’m fully aware of the differences between wireless vs wired & resulting speeds as a result of multiple factors. My point was simply that I’ve had plenty of success in the past with the same setup & actually slower speeds with an older router.

My bad.

The popularity of the franchise has been going up in spite of itself, so some of it could just be from an increased number of active auction house buyers, and I’m certain there is a non-zero amount of cheaters (which also go up as population goes up).

Honestly I’m not sure the is much validity in the auction house anymore for us honest folk. I used to do “auction house bargain” competitions with my clan. We stopped doing that for good reason. I mostly see it as a platform for credit transfer these days.

I think it’s kind of an unsolvable problem. Every solution I can think of comes with it’s own unsolvable problem, like how direct player trades will absolutely 100% create a real money black market.

Sometimes, the internet just makes it so we can’t have nice things. Classic tragedy of the commons situation. Although… That kind of describes most of the internet.

fair enough about the internet but it’s quite possible to enjoy this game with a minimum of irritation from outright negative behaviour, or it has been that way for me at least

it’s hard to avoid pollution of the mind from the trash on the internet, from the mindless idiots to the wannabe Kardashians to the state-sponsored disruption

Tuned rental car for Trial appreciation post

Was expecting nothing, got pretty nice car.
It is not very quick, back slides too often, but overall I’ve enjoyed it. Would not recommend to everyone though.
It looks like it have racing clutch and gearbox, so should be ok for auto users too.
