Feels like PG turned grip to 11

No? Just me?

Umm. Maybe not just you ? I can’t swear to it since I was in and out quick back on my FOMO 20 diet. It might have felt like ? I was thinking it was just braking but it could have been grip. Or gravity ?

Ok so I’ve finally played post-patch. I haven’t noticed anything different, however, there is a bug with the game that happens when the game is updated where it will randomly turn assists on, even they say they are off in the menu. They sometimes won’t even show up in the tac overlay.

I got hit with the bug, and I suspect others have as well considering the post-patch complaints about game stability.

The workaround is to turn on all assists, drive around for a bit (a couple of seconds will do) then turn them all (or the ones you want) off.

This may be what you’re feeling.

@Not_Here_Too just pinging you so you see this as well.

Much thanks for that ! I did wonder if it was the old or related to the Hot Wheels Assist automatically turning back on and had a peek at my assists but everything looked ok.

Had no idea there was a bug where they will reset but not show as reset. Good. Grief.

I’ll run the “fix” and hope. Another chore to add to the preventative bug maintenance list. Every update. Just in case. Yeah. “LOVE” this game.

Thanks again for the help though ! :+1:

Tried that. Still stickier than I remember. Especially PG’s default suspension tunes. They feel considerably more viable than before. Especially when using street or sport tires. So much so that I’ve been resetting a good bit of mine.

Maybe they made some changes to the drivatars instead? Pro and Unbeatables stick closer together than before. I don’t see one just running away from the whole pack. And this is in A800 Super Saloons. Used to be the worst offender for this. I’ve been winning these races a good bit more than before. It was near impossible with the AWD Volvo wagons 'n such always running away from the whole pack. They’d have a good 2+ second lead before 'n now they don’t.

Edit: NVM. Drivatars haven’t changed. Was a fluke. I had a good run of like 5 and then they just started behaving like I remember. Shame.

Heh… Annoyingly, I forgot, reset to default turns Hotwheels Assist back on and the only way to turn it off again is go to Hotwheels land. More pointless engagement statistics. Yay. Thankfully it didn’t replay the season open greeting again there or when I returned to Mexico like I was half expecting.

Can’t say I noticed a difference, but then all I did after the “fix” was the Hot Wheels speedtrap since I was there anyway (easy one and done in stock Supra), and gifted a Myers Manx FE from the Super Wheelspin. Yay. hehehe…

every car they removed from FH4 and reintroduced has seemingly had a handling update. and clearly many of the recent seasonal prizes, starting with the Chevy K10, have unreasonably good handling. probably nerfed all of it for casual players. I don’t notice any difference on cars already in the game tho.

also very curious about whether hot wheels assist and launch control actually affect normal driving. I used LC on my Rossion S2 rivals tune/time and I think it only helped on launch and didn’t hurt at all after that.

hot wheels might be different, but I cannot tell a difference on mainland, and I think it’s not even active because it’s grayed out even if toggled ON

I tried custom eventlab with hot wheels track and it didn’t do the usual avoidance like it does in the actual DLC

Also curious about that. I suspect not. Might it have been said it was only in DLC ? Way back ? Vague recall. Anyway like you say it’s grayed out so one would think not. I reset it off more in case I do ever pop into Hot Wheels land.

And I gave LC a tryout when it came out, couldn’t see any benefit or difference, but I didn’t give it a long tryout or pay much attention to all the stats. Just looked at some times to shift and quarter-ish mile times. Might be some tunes and driving styles or assists would show it off better ?

my Rossion Q1 tune and S2 time on Linea Costera

I improved by half a second with launch control. I think it comes in handy with high revving high power cars, and I didn’t see any difference in the normal driving after launch

I know in freeroam launch control only activates if you hold the parking brake and accelerator while stopped. I know there was also something in the update notes about it automatically triggering at the start of a race, but I don’t know if that version is affected by the difficulty setting or not.

right, i think it’s only active in very specific circumstances… basically, idling… it shouldn’t be activating in mid race. real cars with launch control, usually you have to drive a certain distance before it even allows you to activate it again

I should have been more specific. I was talking about lateral grip. Cornering. Feels better.
