Every time I start up FH5, at one point shortly into the loading screens, I see something like “Favorite Radio Station” and then below “Not used”.
I went to the settings several times trying to find anything related to any radio but I couldn’t find anything. I just know that if I press the right button on the D pad, the radio turns off.
What is this about exactly? I’m not much into radio, but assuming this means internet radio that is free, can I enter the URL to listen to it?
Or even better, can I have a playlist in a folder with local songs that the program loads and plays instead of whatever plays with the game? Which is not that bad, it’s OK in the background, but I’d much rather listen to my favorite music.
It means the station you’ve listened to most, nothing more.

As Scimmia pointed out, it just means you haven’t listened to any of the in-game music.
Also, there hasn’t been a way to directly stream music into a Horizon game since Horizon 3, which was the only game to have anything of the sort, but that has since been updated out of the game.
If you want to listen to your own music, playing Spotify or another music streaming service in the background is your only kosher way of playing your own music over gameplay. There are soundtrack mods, but discussing mods on here has always been a slippery sloop, so I’ll leave it at that.
Actually I have, most of the time I do listen to the in-game music but I set the volume much lower than the rest of the audio faders.
Sometimes it’s a song I dislike too much so I press the right button of the D pad and that turns off the radio, but I thought that was supposed to change the station, does it not?
Yes, it should cycle through the stations before turning off completely in theory, but it sounds like something is either glitched with your copy of the game, or you may have streamer mode on, and thus only have one radio station to toggle on and off.
Thanks, that was it. Perhaps at some point I was messing around with the settings and changed that. But I’m curious, what’s the point of the streamer mode if you can’t select radios? Does it offer any kind of advantage to have it on?

Rebroadcasting commercial music will get your content muted, demonetized, or even get your channel shut down.
