Anybody else trying to teach Forza to a youngster? I’ve got my five year old son running laps. He’s having fun tooling around in Wayne Tomlinson’s Peppa Pig Mini. Obviously, I’ve turned on all assists and just have him go around Indy Oval. If only he’d stop running into walls because he thinks it is fun. That wall scrape is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Oh, and don’t worry - he isn’t allowed anywhere near MP.
My son is three but his hands aren’t quite big enough yet to properly use a game pad. He has however gotten quite good at Asphalt 8 on the ipad. It’s a good game for him since you just have to move the ipad left or right to steer, just trying to get him used to braking for corners when needed.
My 5 year old plays. We bought him an electric mini cooper for his birthday and after his forza time, he was off up the road like a pro! lol
He even checks his mirrors! lol
Nice, AX, passing your quickness to the next generation! Well done.
I don’t have any spawn of my own as of yet, and no plans to do, but I’ve given my neice and 2 nephews (10, 7 and 7, respectively) some pointers. The 10-year old can now run most cars with TCS and ABS off, though she’s still afraid of proper race cars (P & X Class).
Fortunately for me; my son wanted Forza 5 for Christmas & got it from his aunt. He got me playing it & I haven’t stopped. I actually log much…MUCH more Forza time than he does. What’s happened though is I’ve been able to learn how to tune really good & also paint/ design cars fairly well.
Learning how to tune really good has turned mine & his Forza sessions into a Driver/ Crew Chief type dynamic. He drives different than I do…being 15 he’s more of a flat out…melt your face driver that uses the brake & gas pedal like an on/off switch (I’m trying to break him out of that). As such, he like to have his car setup a lot looser than mine. He doesn’t mke as good as times as I do, however, he still does good.
What I love is that I’ll do a base tune for him…let him take it for a spin…get feedback from him…& make adjustments to his liking…we repeat the process until he’s got a setup that he likes.
The whole reason I got ito making NASCAR liveries was because of his request.
My daughter likes cars and racing and she likes to watch me play Forza. I anticipate getting to teach her Forza some day, but right now she’s just two so it will be a bit yet.
