Since today I can’t fast travel anymore, no wonder why. After hitting a few fast travel boards doesn’t do anything for me either. Yesterday it worked just fine though. Does anyone else have this problem too?
Each Fast Travel board destroyed reduces the cost of using Fast Travel to other locations, the more you destroy the cheaper fast travel will be.
You can also fast travel free to The Horizon Festival and to houses that you own.
There is also a house called Fairlawn Manor which can be purchased for 2million CR which offers fast travel anywhere. Located just south of Edinburgh (north east part of map).
Where can you fast travel before buying the house? I can only fast travel to festival and my houses but not races like in fh3. I just figured they made it like that. Are you able to fast travel anywhere other then houses before buying fast travel anywhere?
I was a little apprehensive about buying that place, but the 10 super wheelspins included with the house netted me about 1.7 million credits and a 600k Ferrari.
Oh, and some clothes, horns, and dance moves (obviously lol)
Fast travel to your houses is not free (except once have destroyed all fast travel board).
You are right for festival fast travel (if you use the festival button in “my cars” menu)
So, I got all the fast travel signs, the only place I can fast travel to is the Horizon Festival. I expected to be able to travel anywhere on the map like in previous version. Do I need more progression in the game (like the gold wristband) or is this feature glitched?
I don’t think Fast Travel has previously been available in Horizon games free of charge without any sort of challenge or purchase. In the original Forza Horizon you could initially only travel to the main Horizon site free of charge. You can still do this in FH4 but you need to bring up a menu with your garage and cars and interact with an individual car such as viewing. If you are not at the Festival site this will bring up a message asking if you want to Fast Travel to it. This is free.
There’s a bit of an anomaly in that if you bring up the road map and try to Fast Travel to the Festival site it will cost CR unless you have destroyed all 50 travel boards. I have destroyed 49 of the 50 boards (For the church I need a better car or to upgrade one of my cars) and it costs me 200 CR to Fast travel. The purchase price for Fairlawn Manor includes 10 Super Wheelspins from which I won several cars and quite a bit of CR so for me it was definitely worth it.
So you are one of those people that don’t want to play the game and instead want everything unlocked right away or how can i understand your disappointment? Even in FH3 you had to unlock the Fast Travel by earning perk points.
Getting 2 Million Credits and buying that house is much faster than pushing through the big skill tree in FH3 to get even close to that Travel Anywhere perk!
I realize I’m a little late to this topic but I was also confused about the Fast Travel signs. After clearing all 50, I didn’t know why I couldn’t fast travel anywhere because I was used to FH3.
Your response made absolutely no sense. Someone who spends the time to clear 50 friggin’ fast travel signs spread out all over the map is NOT someone who wants everything unlocked right way. They’re a person who plays the game and did what they thought they needed to do to EARN the perk. In FH3, not only did travel become less expensive with each sign, fast travel was completely unlocked after getting all 50 signs.
A player who takes the EASY way out and buys a stupid house (seriously - why are they even in the game?) is “one of those people that don’t want to play the game and instead want everything unlocked right away.” If getting $2 million in credits is so easy, then why even have the fast travel signs anymore? With players having so many easy credits, the cost to fast travel shouldn’t be an issue anyway, right? Think about it for a few seconds … if you’ve got $2 million or more in credits, are you concerned about the cost to fast travel - ever? I’m willing to bet the answer is no. I’ve never even paid attention to the actual cost to fast travel. Therefore, the fast travel signs are useless to players and are only included so they can try to get an extra $2-$3 out of people who are willing to buy the treasure map.
It doesn’t make any sense at all to change the way the fast travel perk is unlocked without ever telling anyone that it’s different compared to past experience - ex: FH3.
You are wrong
In fh3 it was the same way…you did not get fast travel anywhere from smashing all the signs at all
You needed to get the perk to fast travel anywhere
Same as buying the house in fh4
Otherwise you could only fast travel to the festival sites
And also the same as fh3 smashing the signs reduces the cost
Starting at 10k per trip…unless you just go to the festival hub from the cars menu it cost credits
Hhaha 1 of those people, you are right, it was a perk in FM3 and purchased with perk points not credits, which was more challenging and fun. I rather spend credits on cars and upgrades than houses, but everyone to their own.
You need to buy a house (2M price) near The Great Ridge to be able to fast travel anywhere. It will say you will be able to Fast Travel when you buy that house.
The fast travel cost and the ability to travel anywhere are two different things.
Fast travel anywhere just means you can now fast travel to any road you’ve discovered, but it will still cost you unless you’ve smashed all the fast travel boards.
At first you can fast travel to festival site and houses you own. It costs money.
Destroy fast travel boards to reduce cost. Crushing all 50 will reduce price to 0.
Buy Fairlawn Manor (or something) to unlock “Fast Travel Anywhere” perk. As of now I do NOT need to have it as my “active” house to make use of the perk. My current house is the one by the beach, and I can fast travel anywhere (any road, any board, anything), for 0 CR.
