For Project Cars they are anyway!
Hopefully this will pave the way for people to finally play Forza 5 & 6 with a proper wheel and pedals setup, instead of those useless Thrustmaster & Madcatz toys!
Hey dude, how’s it going?!
It’s been too long alright.
Shame this news is only coming out now though, I’ve gone back to my PS roots. I’ve been racing away on Forza 4 online all the while though. If Project Cars turns out to be half as good as it looks then I’ll most likely stay with that.
I predict Turn10 will announce Fanatec compatibility for Forza 6 very soon.
It’ll be too late for disgruntled wheel users like myself though, I didn’t buy the Bone on principle and I seriously doubt I will anytime soon!
It’s great news for people though I’m sure.
It’s not. The only thing it’s going to provide Fanatec a way to sell it’s top wheel on the Xbox One, and then take forever to release a more reasonably priced product… Whether or not the Fanatec line up will be susceptible to the same gremlins that marred the TX’s reputation remains to be seen.
That doesn’t sound right to me. It was hardly Fanatec’s fault that MS wouldn’t let their wheels work on the Xbox One.
How come Project Cars have managed to pull this off and a MS studio like T10 couldn’t?
It stinks of brown envelopes to me.
Its not about if a dev ‘can pull this off’ or not, its about how MS licenses peripherals for their console.
It was well known that Fanatec will provide XBO compatibility for their V2 at some point, even FM5/FH2 will be compatible with Fanatec gear once they released their XBO rim
And dont expect the CSR-E to be compatible, it wont…
Nothing has changed JB, the only wheels compatible on the One are the existing Thrustmasters, the Madcatz and, when the Xbox One rims are released, the Fanatec ClubSport bases (V1 & V2). It was stated a very long time ago that the PS4 would work with standard USB wheels but support would be down to individual game developers to implement. That is all that has happened here, Project Cars will support the full range of Fanatec wheels on the PS4.
Well that sucks. I thought this was gonna be good news for all Forza wheel users too. Pity.
It is good news for me though, my wheel and pedals will work on my new console.
I’m racing off into the distance, good luck lads…

I was never promised that my CSR would work with the next gen counsel’s when I bought it, But I really like the fact that Sony is allowing this to happen. I’ve been muddling over what I wanted to do and now I have the least expensive route to go in order to play Project Cars. Kudo’s to Sony & Fanatec for keeping what I already have invested in mind and not making me spend any more then I have to.
I’ll see you online so man. Shoot me a FR on PSN, my GT is TitzonToast.
One of my buddies on xbox live has a wheel too and he has pre ordered Project Cars along with me.
We can all blaze a trail together.
I’ve never actually played any of the GT series with a proper FFB wheel, what’s it like?
Is the Trial Mountain circuit still included? I loved that track.
I like the feel of FM4 a little better, but it still feels really good. I don’t get to play on either counsel as much as I would like so I probably only have about 20hrs in on GT6. Both GT6 & FM4 games have different things that I like and I hope PCars can fill the gap and be the best of both,if not better.
Yes Trial Mountain circuit is still in ,and a challenging track it is. Thats one thing I really like about GT6 is all the tracks, I only wish they would have allowed us to at least test drive all the cars in there stock form on all those tracks.
Generally speaking that would be a sweet setup with the CS v2, but that would be a crap load of money I would have to spend just play on a xbox one. If I was spend that kind of money I might as well build a PC with a 3 screen setup.
That makes the CSW V2 $1,030 USD for the least expensive set up, if you do not have any Fanatec gear.
LOL!!!
Yeah. But no thanks. I’ll wait for something that costs less than my Washing Machine. On top of that, the CSW store isn’t open to regular foot traffic.
Interesting… So the U-Hub will be compatible with an upcoming Fanatec wheel? I hope it’s mid market, but it’s probably going to be a real premium wheel from Fanatec.
