I never start the xbox up with the wheel ,always turn the box on with the button then turn the wheel on after I’am on the dashboard. I then check to make sure the controller icon is not showing when I push the guide button,if it is I just disconnect and reconnect the wheel until its not showing. I have never had a problem with it using this method --yet.
