Sometime back in August my cousin and I both bought Fanatec CSL Elite bundles w/load cell kit and club sport shifters v1.5. When we play FM7 or Project Cars 2 with the shifter in H-pattern mode the game randomly will change gears for us without us physically moving the shifter. No, we are not accidentally hitting the shifter either and our wheel stands aren’t moving. We both have Next Level racing stands. If I’m driving along in 4th(physically), the game will randomly put my car in 3rd or 5th in-game. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I looked on the Fanatec site but I don’t see anyone else with the issue. We both calibrated our wheels and shifters several times and that hasn’t fixed it. Any ideas?
your not accidentally bumping paddle shifters on the wheel rim by chance? the only way the H-pattern gear will change on its own is 1. you hit a shift up/shift down button 2. have automatic transmission turned on in the assists or 3. have a faulty cable or shifter unit
It could be a magnet misalignment in the hall sensor.
I’ve had my SQ Shifter V 1.5 for a year now and it started mis-shifting.
I had to disassemble it (not for the faint of heart, do your research before attempting this), and realign the magnet into its slot as it had come out about 1mm.
It’s odd if two units are experiencing at the same time, but that could be down to a batch in manufacturing that went out slightly misaligned?
Just read the units are only a few months old. Send them back for warranty fixed instead of disassembling perhaps.
Nope! I’m 100% sure I/we aren’t hitting the paddle shifters. We both drive with none of the assists on. I didn’t want to think it was a hardware issue since it’s happening to both of us. I just thought the odds of us both getting faulty gear was low, even if we got all our gear within a week of each other. But you may be right.
