Failed to sign in - Not Connected error message

No surprise! Same problem for me and it’s been going on for weeks.
As soon as I start a multiplayer game … I can only practice the trials, then at the end of the countdown! CRASH and back to the main menu with that famous ‘Disconnected’ message. No one has found a solution despite open tickets… deplorable.

Ive been having this same issue since the hotfix as well, on xbox, from what ive noticed most of the time it coincides with the current race removing from available games to join or the next one opening up. Could just be coincidence but not sure

My FM won’t start anymore, hangs for a while after shader optimization, then can’t connect neither online or offline (free play), so basically, can’t play at all. is there another bug showing up to you as well?

Yep.

I checked forza.net/myforza/banhistory and I’ve never been banned.

I tried starting up Forza Horizon 5 and hit the same problem.

Lots of other people currently reporting a problem on the Xbox subReddit:
redd.it/1d5cwvr

:warning: xbox.com/status says there’s currently an Account & Profile sign-in issue:

You may not be able to sign-in to your Xbox profile, may be disconnected while signed in, or have other related problems. Features that require sign-in like most games, apps and social activity won’t be available.

It sure would be nice if these games had better capabilities for offline/disconnected play.

Same here, did the intro to MP and crashed on exit then went to restart and it sat forever loading then after about 3 minutes started but crashed again on the headlights screen then restarted and it took a while and had to build shaders from 80 percent which it hasn’t done in months but finally got back on then crashed after leaving the first race again.

This game is a lesson in how not to spend your gaming time smh

Now I’m just getting those screens you posted, so it’s a Worldwide issue and you can’t even play single player

The joys of an always on connection

Goes to the Xbox Status page to see and gets this

Some, yeah just the entire planet

Same.

xbox.com/status still says it’s not resolved, but I am now able to get in to both FM & FH5.

Maybe the fix is rolling out region-by-region, or maybe they just haven’t updated their status page yet, or maybe I’ll get kicked out of the game shortly when it goes offline again. :man_shrugging:

:white_check_mark: Update: xbox.com/status now says “all services up and running.”

These things happen occasionally. Complete overreaction bandwagon in this thread.

Literally every online service in the history of the internet goes through their service suddenly not working for minutes, or even hours in rare occasions. This isn’t some revolutionary event that is at all unique to xbox live/microsoft.

Just go do something else for a few hours. Also hope they weren’t hacked and that we all don’t need to get new credit cards numbers

They all use AWS (Amazon Web Services) for everything. It’s normal that it doesn’t work right sometimes. It’s the same with Rockstar Games, they also use AWS, I think Activision uses AWS too and most other studios too. Even Netflix gets streamed via AWS. In the beginning they used other server farms but moved on to AWS too.

I had that problem with the disconnects when I played with my old rig to test if the game works. But I didn’t have these problems with my laptop and main rig.

My 3 computers are listed in my steam profile.

No it’s not, cannot even play single player because of this draconian system

This is my allocated you can game time

Good example, Rockstar goes down can still play GTA and progress until the online side is restored.

FM8 locks you out from any form of progression in the single player

Yeah things go wrong from time to time but taking away the ablity to play a game and progress in single player because of a form of copy protection gives me the right to complain

On the line below in blue, was moved from the general discussion hub to the TSHUB

The 23 posts were apparently moved to this thread, but not many actually made the trip here.

I didnt mean its typical for games to have such limited offline as fm23.

Indeed You are correct, only 10 did so I wonder where the other 13 went?

They planned to strengthen their case for the need for always online by adding the Car Points

Now you can purchase them with credits they could in fact make the single player offline and say you won’t earn CarPoints offline but will be able to do the minuscule builders cup or upgrade your vehicles and create liveries in the awful paintshop and race freeplay without conditions. Of course they would have to let you store the save on your end.

If FH5 can do it so can this… but they won’t cause they think the pirates might have fun of which they won’t cause the game CONSTANTLY CRASHES

It’s ridiculous we have to be permanently connected to the servers while playing single player. If the connection is lost it should just reconnect automaticly without us noticing it, without that stupid message in the middle of the screen that forces us to click on it. The person who coded that nonsense should get fired.
